1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo keep recorded exam-prep lectures playing on repeat during a YouTube Live broadcast, run the playlist through an encoder or playback setup that can loop it, then connect that encoder to a broadcast managed in YouTube Studio. YouTube Studio handles scheduling, preview and going live; the loop itself depends on the software or setup supplying the video. YouTube’s encoder guide does not document a universal playlist-loop setting.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel eligible for live streaming.
- The lecture files arranged in the order you want viewers to see them.
- A playback and encoder setup that can repeat those files reliably.
- Permission to broadcast the lectures and every embedded element, including slides, music and clips.
YouTube supports computer software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. Choose based on the equipment you already have, whether it can repeat the playlist reliably, and how easily you can monitor the broadcast. YouTube’s setup documentation does not specify a computer hardware minimum or an India-specific bandwidth threshold, so check the requirements of your chosen encoder and connection rather than relying on an invented universal specification. YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Check that the channel can go live
YouTube’s current rules require channel verification, no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and a streamer who is at least 16. First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours. Check the channel in YouTube Studio well before promoting a start time. These are YouTube-wide rules, not India-specific thresholds. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
Set up the looping lecture feed and broadcast
- Prepare the playlist. Put the lecture recordings in their intended order and confirm that the playback or encoder setup repeats the items as expected. Loop controls vary by setup; YouTube’s encoder instructions do not describe a single loop button that applies to every encoder.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live to create a stream. To plan a later session, use Manage > Schedule stream. Scheduling creates a watch page that you can share and lets viewers set reminders. Confirm the audience and privacy settings on the actual broadcast. YouTube offers public, private and unlisted settings, and default settings differ for creators aged 13–17 and those 18 or older.
- Connect the encoder. If your encoder has a YouTube connection option, select it. Otherwise, copy the YouTube Live server URL and stream key into the corresponding encoder fields. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast.
- Send the feed and check the preview. Start the encoder output and wait for the preview and status in Live Control Room. Start the broadcast using the control shown for that stream. For scheduled streams, the exact start behavior can depend on auto-start settings; follow the current controls in Studio rather than assuming that sending encoder data automatically makes the stream public. The OBS community guide to streaming to YouTube also notes that scheduled-stream behavior can depend on those settings.
- Monitor the stream. Keep an eye on the Studio status and the playback setup during the broadcast. Plan what you will do if the computer, power, connection or encoder stops; a local loop cannot continue sending video while its source is unavailable.
- End the broadcast deliberately. Stop the broadcast from YouTube Studio and/or the encoder as appropriate to the controls shown. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its cited guidance does not establish that a longer stream will be saved as one complete video, so do not rely on a single complete replay archive for a longer continuous broadcast.
Choose between a computer encoder and standalone hardware
| Option | When it fits | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Software encoder on a computer | You already have a computer capable of playing the recordings and running encoding software. | Check that your chosen software can repeat the playlist and that you can monitor playback, encoder output and the Studio preview. YouTube does not give a universal computer specification in the cited setup guide. |
| Standalone hardware encoder | You prefer a dedicated encoding device. | YouTube recognizes standalone encoders, but there is no basis here to recommend a particular model or say that dedicated hardware is necessary for prerecorded lectures. |
For a recurring series, Google’s Live Streaming API documentation says a channel can reuse one stream resource for multiple scheduled broadcasts. Separate stream resources may be useful when simultaneous recurring shows need different encoder settings. This is an API-level option; most channel operators can schedule and manage broadcasts through Studio instead. See YouTube Live Streaming API: Understanding Broadcasts and Streams.

Protect lecture rights and avoid avoidable interruptions
Educational purpose does not by itself grant permission to rebroadcast a recording. Confirm that you have the rights to the lecture and every included item, including third-party slides, music, video clips and exam-prep materials. YouTube Help states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can trigger a placeholder image and warning; continued use may interrupt or terminate the stream. A live broadcast can also be terminated for a copyright or Community Guidelines strike. Read YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams.
If a rights holder has licensed material for your broadcast, ask the owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel has not been allowlisted. YouTube says Content ID claims on an archived live stream occur after the stream ends if you choose to archive it.

Limits and operational planning
- YouTube’s current getting-started help page states a limit of 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key. Recheck the current page if you intend to run concurrent feeds.
- A 24/7 feed is an example of a persistent broadcast in Google’s API documentation, not a guarantee that a local computer, internet connection or playlist will keep operating without interruption.
- If continuous availability matters, plan for monitoring and recovery after power, device or connection failures. If an archive matters, plan separately for replay handling instead of assuming a long stream will produce one complete saved video.
Troubleshooting common problems
| Symptom | Likely point to check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a live stream | Eligibility or first-time enablement | Check channel verification, age eligibility, and any live-stream restrictions in the past 90 days. If you just enabled live streaming, allow up to 24 hours before expecting it to be available. |
| The stream appears in Studio but the lecture does not repeat | Playlist playback configuration | Check the loop and playlist behavior in the playback or encoder software. The Studio encoder guide does not provide a universal loop control. |
| No preview appears after connecting the encoder | Encoder connection details or output state | Confirm that the encoder is sending data and that the YouTube server URL and stream key match the selected broadcast. Check Live Control Room for the current status before going live. |
| The feed is running but viewers cannot find it | Broadcast state, schedule or privacy | Verify that you started the scheduled broadcast as required and inspect its actual visibility setting in Studio. Do not assume a default privacy setting. |
| The stream is interrupted after a copyright warning | Third-party material or missing Content ID allowlisting | Review every element in the lecture feed. If you have a license, ask the rights holder about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist. |
| A long broadcast does not appear as one complete archive | Stream duration and archive expectations | YouTube’s cited automatic-archive guidance covers streams under 12 hours; it does not establish a single complete archive for longer streams. Plan replay capture and handling separately. |
Or let it run in the cloud
