For a mostly static devotional visual, start with 1280×720 at 30 fps, H.264 video in CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and AAC stereo audio at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. YouTube’s recommended H.264 video bitrate for 720p30 is 8,000 kbps; 3,000 kbps is its minimum, not the quality target. Choose a rate your upload connection can sustain continuously, then test the complete stream before going public.
Recommended OBS settings for a low-motion music stream
This is a practical starting configuration for a static image, album artwork, or similarly low-motion scene. YouTube’s encoder specifications are recommendations, not a guarantee of uninterrupted streaming or a setting proven optimal for every computer and connection.
| OBS setting | Starting point | How to adapt |
|---|---|---|
| Output resolution | 1280×720 (720p) | Prefer a stable picture over a higher resolution that exceeds your sustained upload capacity. |
| Frame rate | 30 fps | A mostly static music visual generally does not need 60 fps. This is a scenario-based starting point, not a YouTube mandate. |
| Video encoder | H.264 | YouTube also lists H.265 and AV1. Use another codec only if your encoder and workflow support it reliably. |
| Rate control | CBR | YouTube specifies CBR for its listed live encoder settings. |
| Video bitrate | 8,000 kbps recommended; 3,000 kbps minimum for H.264 at 720p30 | The minimum is a floor, not a quality target. Use the recommended rate only if your connection can reliably sustain it with headroom. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | YouTube recommends 2 seconds and says not to exceed 4 seconds. |
| Audio | AAC stereo, 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz | Check the source level and avoid clipping; music quality depends on the actual audio mix as well as the encoder setting. |
| Color | Rec. 709 for SDR | Use this for standard dynamic range. |
| Protocol | RTMPS | Use RTMPS when available for encrypted transport to YouTube’s servers. |
These bitrate, protocol, and audio values are YouTube Help specifications, retrieved in 2026; that retrieval date is not a publication or revision date. See YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrate guidance.
Set up the stream in OBS and YouTube
- Confirm your channel can livestream. Follow YouTube’s current eligibility and setup flow before scheduling a broadcast. The encoder workflow is described in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Prepare the scene and audio. Add the devotional visual and the audio source you intend to broadcast. Listen to the actual scene output, verify the level is audible, and make sure peaks do not clip.
- Configure the video output. Set the output to 1280×720 and 30 fps, select H.264, choose CBR, and enter a bitrate based on the sustained upload capacity you have measured. Start with YouTube’s 8,000 kbps recommendation if the connection can reliably handle it; if not, reduce the bitrate or resolution and test again. Set the keyframe interval to 2 seconds.
- Configure audio and transport. Choose AAC stereo at 128 kbps and a 44.1 kHz sample rate. Select RTMPS when available.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. Create or schedule the live event in YouTube Studio, then use the stream key in OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it, include it in screenshots, or share it with anyone who should not control the broadcast.
- Test before going public. Send representative audio and motion, check OBS and YouTube Live Control Room for stream health, and verify that the scheduled start and stop work as intended. YouTube explicitly advises, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.”
If you want help establishing basic OBS settings, the Auto-Configuration Wizard can provide a starting point, but verify the actual stream and connection behavior before relying on it.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose bitrate by upload headroom, not by the number alone
The encoder sends a continuous data stream. If the connection cannot reliably carry the configured video bitrate along with audio and normal network variation, raising the bitrate can make the broadcast less stable rather than clearer. Measure sustained upload performance under realistic conditions, then test the chosen setting. When capacity is limited, lower the video bitrate or output resolution and retest instead of assuming a nominal internet-plan speed is available at all times.
- Stable at the recommended rate: Use YouTube’s 8,000 kbps H.264 recommendation for 720p30, then monitor stream health during the test.
- Connection cannot sustain that rate: Reduce the bitrate, and consider lowering resolution if needed. The 3,000 kbps minimum for H.264 720p30 is a platform floor, not a promise of ideal image quality.
- Picture is static but connection is constrained: Keep 30 fps as the low-motion starting point and prioritize a bitrate the connection can maintain over a higher resolution or frame rate.
There is no single configuration guaranteed to work best across different internet connections, computers, and source material.

Plan around YouTube’s 12-hour archive limit
YouTube automatically archives streams that are under 12 hours. A nominal 24/7 broadcast should therefore not rely on one continuous event being automatically saved as a single archive. If archives matter, plan segments or restarts that stay under that threshold and confirm the channel’s workflow in advance. YouTube’s cited guidance does not promise indefinite ingest or automatic recovery after an encoder, power, or network outage.
Before broadcasting publicly, test the full scene and audio chain, bitrate stability, stream health, and the scheduled start/stop process. Watch OBS’s dropped-frame indicator and YouTube’s Live Control Room. An optional UPS may help keep local encoder and network equipment powered during a brief power interruption, but required capacity and runtime depend on the equipment; a UPS will not resolve an ISP, ingest, or platform outage.

Protect the music rights and follow YouTube rules
Hindi-language, devotional, religious, or traditional music is not automatically free to livestream. Rights can differ among the composition, arrangement, performance, and sound recording. Establish that the specific material is cleared for the livestream and intended territory before broadcasting. YouTube says live content must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service and may restrict or remove streams that violate its rules; see Get started with live streaming.
