For a stream intended to run around the clock, plan for interruptions: YouTube does not promise that one broadcast will stay live indefinitely, and its automatic-archive guidance applies to streams shorter than 12 hours. You will also need the rights to every recording and visual you broadcast.
Before you start: check channel access and prepare the content
- Confirm live-streaming eligibility. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Its guidance also sets a minimum age of 16 for livestreaming. Check your account’s current eligibility in YouTube Studio before preparing a launch. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance
- Choose the mantra audio and visual. A still or gently animated devotional image can accompany audio, but you need rights to both. Do not assume a traditional mantra makes a particular recording free to rebroadcast.
- Choose an encoder setup. YouTube documents computer-and-encoder streaming but does not specify a minimum PC or guarantee that a particular computer can run unattended. The required hardware depends on the encoder and workload. An audio-first stream may need less equipment than a camera production; buy only what your chosen setup requires.
- Plan for recovery. Consider what you will do if power, internet, the encoder, or the broadcast fails. YouTube’s setup guidance does not prescribe a guaranteed unattended 24/7 recovery system.
Create the YouTube broadcast and connect an encoder
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. In Live Control Room, create a stream or schedule one. Scheduling gives you a watch-page URL to share ahead of time. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions
- In the stream settings, copy the server URL and stream key. Enter them in the corresponding server and key fields in your encoder. Treat the stream key as a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Configure the encoder’s audio and video inputs. For a static-image stream, ensure the image is actually included in the outgoing video feed; audio alone is not a complete video broadcast.
- Start streaming from the encoder. Wait for the feed to appear in Live Control Room, check the preview and stream-health messages, then select Go live if the stream has not been scheduled to start automatically.
- Monitor the broadcast after launch. A test with representative audio and motion can reveal unstable connectivity or encoder settings before viewers encounter them.
Set video, audio, and connection quality
YouTube recommends RTMPS and constant-bitrate encoding. Supported video encoder codecs listed in its guidance include H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1. Use AAC or MP3 for audio. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. Its advanced settings list stereo audio at 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. These are YouTube recommendations for the listed settings, not universal minimum upload speeds. Run a speed test and select a bitrate your connection can sustain consistently, leaving capacity for normal network variation. For a stream built around audio and a static image, lower resolution or frame rate may be sufficient in practice, but YouTube does not prescribe a Lakshmi-mantra profile. Lowering video demands does not guarantee uptime.
Choose between one long session and planned shorter sessions
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. Its cited guidance does not establish what happens to archives at or beyond 12 hours, nor does it promise an uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast. Do not count on one long session being archived or remaining live indefinitely.

Planning sessions shorter than 12 hours is a practical way to stay within the stated archive condition, not a YouTube-endorsed 24/7 architecture. Decide how viewers will find the next session and who can restart the encoder if something fails.
Clear rights for the mantra and visuals
YouTube’s livestream terms require you to have the necessary rights for the live content, including music licensing rights. A mantra’s devotional or traditional character does not automatically clear a modern recording, arrangement, performance, or image. Obtain written permission or a license that covers the actual material, the territories where it will be viewed, and livestream rebroadcast. Keep a copy of the license.

YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content and that it may interrupt or terminate a stream. A licensed recording may still be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Confirm the process with the rights holder before going live. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its livestream terms.
Understand monetization limits
Ads and fan-funding features may be available if your channel and stream are eligible, but YouTube does not guarantee that every viewer will receive a mid-roll ad. Its channel monetization policies apply to live content and expect original, authentic material rather than mass-produced, generic, or repetitive content. A recording looped indefinitely beneath an unchanged image could raise a policy concern; YouTube’s published policy does not decide this exact format in advance. Troubleshoot common interruptions
- The encoder feed does not appear in Live Control Room: verify that the correct server URL and stream key are entered, the encoder is actively sending, and the channel is eligible to go live. Keep the key private; if it may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The stream health warning reports instability: check the network, run a speed test, and reduce the bitrate or video demands to a level the connection can sustain. Test again and watch stream health after restarting.
- Audio or video is missing: check the encoder’s selected input and confirm that the audio track and visual are present in its preview before starting the broadcast.
- YouTube interrupts the stream for a rights match: stop using the disputed material until you verify the license and, if applicable, confirm that the rights holder has allowlisted the channel through Content ID.
- The broadcast stops while unattended: check power, internet, encoder status, and Live Control Room messages. Restarting may restore the stream, but a responsible person or a separately planned recovery arrangement is needed; YouTube’s cited guidance does not promise automatic recovery.
