To show an Android phone’s camera or screen in Streamlabs Desktop over your local network, start LAN Streaming in Streamlabs Mobile, copy its current stream URL, then add that URL to Desktop as a Media Source with Local File unchecked. Your phone and computer must be on the same local network; a phone using cellular data cannot send this LAN feed.
What you need
- An Android phone with Streamlabs Mobile installed and signed in. Streamlabs’ documented built-in LAN workflow is for Android.
- Streamlabs Desktop on the computer that will receive the feed.
- A shared local network: the phone can use Wi-Fi while the computer uses Ethernet, as long as both are connected to the same network.
This method sends the phone’s camera or screen to the computer. It is useful for a phone-as-webcam setup or for capturing mobile gameplay in a PC production. Streamlabs documents those uses in its Mobile LAN Streaming Source Guide.
Set up the phone’s LAN stream
- Connect both devices to the same local network. Put the phone on Wi-Fi and connect the computer to that same network over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Do not rely on the phone’s cellular connection for this local feed.
- Open Streamlabs Mobile. Sign in, open the app menu, and select LAN Streaming.
- Choose the feed settings. Streamlabs suggests 720p or 1080p as starting resolution examples, with bitrate examples of 5000 for 720p and 10000 for 1080p. It recommends leaving the encoder set to H.264/AVC. These are Streamlabs’ examples, not universal settings for every network or production.
- Start the local feed. Tap Next, then choose Get Stream URL.
- Retrieve the URL on the computer. Open the displayed URL in a browser on the computer and copy the URL under Using Streamlabs. At the end of setup, choose the FLV stream option.
Add the phone feed in Streamlabs Desktop
- In Streamlabs Desktop, add a Media Source to the scene where you want the phone feed.
- In the source properties, clear the Local File checkbox.
- Paste the copied LAN stream URL into Input, then confirm the source settings.
- Check the source preview. The phone feed should appear there; resize and position it in the scene as needed.
The URL can change. If a saved source stops working, return to Streamlabs Mobile’s LAN Streaming setup and copy the current URL rather than assuming the old one is permanent.
Choose LAN Streaming or NDI
LAN Streaming and NDI are separate workflows: they use different sender setups and different source types in Desktop. Use the built-in LAN URL workflow above when sending from Streamlabs Mobile on Android. Use NDI when the phone is sending an NDI feed from an NDI-capable app.

For NDI setup details, see Streamlabs’ NDI Receiving Setup in Streamlabs Desktop and its guide to creating an NDI stream from a mobile device. Do not add an NDI Source for the built-in LAN URL feed; that feed belongs in a Media Source.
Troubleshoot a missing or broken feed
- No picture in the preview: Confirm the phone and computer are still on the same local network. Ethernet for the computer and Wi-Fi for the phone is fine; cellular is not the LAN connection.
- The source worked before but stopped: Retrieve the current URL from LAN Streaming and replace the old one. Check that you selected the FLV stream option.
- The URL source is configured but does not connect: Close and reopen the streaming software, as Streamlabs suggests, then retry with the current URL.
- Need to adjust the mobile feed behavior: Streamlabs says TCP Delay and User Feedback Pop can be adjusted under Main Menu → Advanced Settings in the mobile app.
- An NDI sender is not visible: Make sure the NDI SDK runtime is installed and the computer has been rebooted. Check that both the sender app and Streamlabs Desktop are allowed through the firewall and that the network is set to a private profile.
