To run bhajans as a YouTube Live broadcast, play or loop your playlist through an encoder and send that encoder’s feed to a live stream created in YouTube Studio. YouTube does not provide a special control that turns an ordinary playlist into a continuous live broadcast: the playback and looping happen in your chosen setup. Before going live, enable livestreaming, confirm you have rights to every recording and visual, and test the connection and stream health.
What you need for a continuous bhajan livestream
- A verified YouTube channel that is eligible to livestream.
- Bhajan recordings and visuals you are permitted to use in a livestream and, if applicable, its archive.
- A playback setup that can play and loop your playlist, plus an encoder that sends its output to YouTube. The encoder can run on a computer, or you can use standalone encoder hardware.
- A reliable internet connection with enough upload capacity for the selected stream settings, plus a plan to notice interruptions.
You do not inherently need a camera, microphone, webcam, audio interface, or new router to broadcast a pre-made playlist. YouTube says expensive equipment is not necessary to get started; professional-grade hardware encoders are an option for higher-production events, not a requirement for a static playlist. 1. Enable livestreaming on your channel
In YouTube Studio, enable live streaming before the planned broadcast. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Initial activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave this step until the start of your event. Check YouTube’s current eligibility and setup guidance at YouTube live streaming tips.
2. Check rights for every recording and visual
Confirm that you have permission for each recording and each visual used in the feed, including the composition, arrangement, performance, and recording where relevant. A bhajan is not automatically copyright-free because it is devotional, old, attributed, or purchased. Attribution or buying a recording does not by itself establish permission to stream it.

YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. If a match is detected, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the content remains, the stream can be interrupted or terminated. If a rights holder has licensed content for your broadcast, ask whether they need to add your channel to their Content ID allowlist: a license alone may not prevent a live interruption. An archived live video may also receive a Content ID claim after the stream ends. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
3. Build and test the looping playlist
Use a playback and encoder setup that can repeat the bhajan recordings in the order you want. The exact loop controls depend on the software or hardware you choose; YouTube’s encoder workflow does not define a dedicated 24/7 playlist-looping control. Test the complete setup using the same kind of audio and still or moving visuals you intend to broadcast. Listen for silence, abrupt transitions, unexpected gaps, or a file that stops instead of returning to the start.

Keep a monitoring plan for playback, audio, video, rights notices, and connection interruptions. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring stream health; an unattended playlist still needs someone or a reliable monitoring arrangement to notice a problem.
4. Create the YouTube stream and connect the encoder
- In YouTube Studio, choose Create → Go Live, then create or schedule the stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the stream in YouTube Studio.
- Enter the URL and key in the compatible encoder, and configure the encoder to send the playlist’s output.
- Start sending the feed from the encoder. Check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before relying on the public broadcast.
- When ending the broadcast, stop sending content from the encoder, following YouTube’s encoder instructions.

5. Choose settings that fit your upload connection
Use YouTube’s current recommendations for encoder settings, bitrate, resolution, and keyframes rather than guessing at a configuration. The right bitrate depends on the resolution and frame rate you select and on the actual upload capacity available to the encoder. YouTube advises leaving upload-bandwidth headroom: other devices and people sharing the connection can reduce the capacity available to the stream. Test the chosen settings on the same network you will use for the broadcast, then monitor stream health in Live Control Room.
Consult YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for the applicable values. If the connection cannot sustain the selected settings, lower the stream quality until testing shows a stable feed.

How continuous is continuous on YouTube?
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its cited encoder guidance does not establish that one stream can run indefinitely or explain what happens to a single stream beyond 12 hours. Do not treat an uninterrupted, unlimited broadcast or archive as guaranteed. If your plan depends on a session longer than 12 hours, confirm current behavior in YouTube Studio and plan how you will handle ending, restarting, and monitoring the stream.
Common problems and fixes
- Livestreaming is unavailable: Verify the channel and enable live streaming in advance. Initial activation may take up to 24 hours; also check for a restriction in the prior 90 days.
- The encoder is not reaching YouTube: Recheck that you copied the stream URL and key for the correct Studio stream and entered them in the encoder. Keep the key private.
- The feed buffers or loses health: Test upload capacity on the broadcast network, reduce the selected quality or bitrate if needed, and leave bandwidth headroom for competing network use.
- The stream shows a placeholder or is interrupted: Check for a third-party-content match. Confirm permissions for the recording and visuals; where licensed content is involved, ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting.
- The playlist stops or has gaps: Check the playback setup’s repeat behavior and test the complete playlist before going live. Looping is handled by your playback/encoder setup, not a special YouTube playlist control.
- The archive receives a claim: A Content ID claim can appear after an archived live stream ends. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance and resolve rights issues with the relevant owner.
