To accept tips through Streamlabs, connect a payment option in the Streamlabs Dashboard, customize your Tip Page, share its URL, and—if you want on-stream notifications—configure and test an Alert Box. Payment methods depend on your region and account; Streamlabs says it takes no cut but card processing fees may apply.
1. Connect a payment method
- Sign in to the Streamlabs Dashboard and open Tipping.
- Choose Connect beside the PayPal option you want, then complete authorization in the provider pop-up. Streamlabs’ quick guide, published May 20, 2026, describes this flow; labels and available options can change. See the Streamlabs setup guide.
- Check the options shown for your account and region before deciding what to enable.
PayPal Standard or PayPal Business?
Streamlabs describes PayPal Standard as accepting PayPal only. PayPal Business is the option it identifies for credit-card payments and Venmo in the United States. Venmo availability is US-only, and payment options may vary by region; confirm the current choices in your Dashboard rather than assuming every audience member can use every method. Streamlabs’ Tipping page also notes regional availability can vary.
Understand fees before sharing the page
Streamlabs states that it does not take a cut of tips, excluding standard credit-card processing fees. That is Streamlabs’ description of its platform fee, not a promise that payment processing is free. The sources do not establish a universal processor rate, payout timing, tax treatment, or how a provider will handle a dispute; check the terms for your payment account and jurisdiction.
2. Configure your Tip Page
In Tipping, find the Tip Page URL near the upper-right area under your profile picture. The current setup guide lists these configurable items:

For additional appearance controls, the current guide points to Custom Website > Design, including fonts and a logo. Exact controls may differ as Streamlabs updates the Dashboard.
Other controls documented for Twitch pages
A Streamlabs support article focused on Twitch, last updated October 3, 2024, documents recommended amounts, a visitor-facing message, a banner image, profanity filtering, Tip History, and CSV export. Treat these as controls documented in that older guide, not a guarantee that every account currently shows the same labels or options. Check the live Dashboard before relying on a particular setting. The article is How to set up Donations on Twitch.
3. Share the Tip Page URL
Copy the Tip Page URL from the Tipping section and put it where viewers are likely to look for ways to support you. Streamlabs’ May 20, 2026 guide suggests placements such as:

4. Add and test tip alerts
Tip alerts are optional: the Tip Page can accept tips without an on-stream alert. To configure notifications, open Alert Box in the Streamlabs Dashboard. Streamlabs’ alerts guide, last updated July 6, 2026, describes general controls for delay, moderation, whether alerts interrupt other alerts, and profanity filtering. Event-specific settings can include images, text, sounds, and variations. See Setting up Your Streamlabs Alerts.

Add the Alert Box to your streaming software
- Streamlabs Desktop: add Alert Box as a source.
- OBS with the Streamlabs plugin: add the Streamlabs widget as a source.
- Other streaming software: copy the widget URL and add it as a browser source.
Test before going live
- Use the Dashboard’s test controls or the test widgets in your streaming software.
- Confirm that the alert appears in the right scene and is readable at your stream’s resolution.
- Check that its sound plays at an appropriate level and that the alert does not cover important game UI, subtitles, or other overlays.
- If moderation or profanity controls are enabled, check their behavior with the available test options before relying on them during a live broadcast.
Troubleshooting
- The payment option is missing: options vary by region and account. Review the choices shown under Tipping and confirm eligibility with the payment provider.
- Authorization does not complete: reopen the Connect flow and finish the provider’s authorization pop-up. If it fails again, check the account and provider requirements before trying another available option.
- Viewers cannot find the Tip Page: copy the Tip Page URL from Tipping and check that it is present in the channel panel, profile, or description where you intended to publish it.
- An alert does not appear: confirm the Alert Box source or browser source is in the active scene, then run the Dashboard or software test again.
- An alert appears without sound or looks wrong: inspect the event-specific image, text, sound, and variation settings, then test again in the scene you will use live.
Keep Streamlabs tips separate from a 24/7 YouTube loop
Streamlabs Tipping handles a creator’s tip page and optional alerts; it is not the same as keeping pre-recorded video running as a continuous YouTube live stream. If you also want that separate workflow, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for looping uploaded videos: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer can be off while it runs; uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. The monthly option is $9.99 per month.
