Then place the source in your scene and use TipeeeStream’s alert configuration to preview it. A preview confirms the animation can display; it does not confirm that a real payment or payout has been processed.
How the TipeeeStream donation widget works
TipeeeStream generates a URL for a configured widget. Your broadcasting software loads that URL as a browser source, which lets the widget appear over the video scene. OBS and Streamlabs use the same basic approach; the names of a few menu items differ. Tipeee’s instructions are available in its Help Center.
Set up the widget and copy its URL
- Sign in to TipeeeStream. Open the Streaming section from the page menu.
- Choose and configure a widget. Set its appearance and behavior using the options available in your account.
- Copy the widget URL. Use the page’s Copy button after configuration. Treat this as a configuration URL for your streaming software, not as a general link to publish.
Add the widget to OBS or Streamlabs
OBS
- Open your scene and find Sources.
- Select +, choose Browser, and create and name the source.
- Paste the TipeeeStream widget URL into the URL field and confirm.
- Select the browser source in the preview. Drag it to position it, and use its edge handles to resize it.
Streamlabs
- Open your scene and find Sources.
- Select +, choose Browser Source, and create and name the source.
- Paste the TipeeeStream widget URL and confirm.
- Select the source in the preview. Drag it to position it, and use its edge handles to resize it.
Preview an alert and refresh widget changes
To preview a donation alert, open TipeeeStream’s alert configuration and select Restart animation. The alert may initially appear as a colored rectangle in your broadcasting software’s preview. This is an animation preview, not an end-to-end test of payment processing, alert delivery during a live stream, or payout.
After editing a widget in TipeeeStream, refresh its browser source so the software loads the latest version:

- OBS: Select the source and use Refresh.
- Streamlabs: Open the source gear and choose Refresh cache of current page.
Donation settings and account-specific options
TipeeeStream lists controls including payment methods, minimum or suggested donation amounts, custom messages, file attachments, alert sounds and animations, text-to-speech options, goals, counters, dashboards, and custom layouts. These are listed features, not a guarantee that every option or payment method is enabled for every account or country. Check the settings available in your account and review the applicable payment terms before sharing a donation page.
If you want to check a YouTube Super Chat setup, TipeeeStream’s news page describes choosing YouTube as the “Master-Account” and configuring the Superchat tab in Alert Box. The page also contains historical announcements, so confirm that the integration is currently available in your dashboard rather than assuming it is enabled for every account.

Advanced integrations and charity streams
Developer API
The TipeeeStream API documentation describes reading donation, subscriber, follower, and hosting data; writing data and triggering events; and receiving real-time events through sockets. It describes an account API key for API access and OAuth 2 for posting on behalf of users. This route is for custom integrations; it is not required to add a browser-source widget.
Tips are not the same as charitable donations
If you are raising money for charity, distinguish a viewer’s tip to you from a donation processed through Twitch’s Charity tool. Twitch’s guidance says that a payment made to a streamer who later donates the money to charity is not treated as a charitable donation for tax purposes under that guidance. Do not describe ordinary tips as tax-deductible charitable gifts. See Twitch’s charity guidance for the applicable details.

Troubleshooting the browser source
The widget does not appear
- Check that you copied the configured widget URL into the browser source’s URL field.
- Confirm the browser source is included in the active scene and is not hidden behind another source.
- After changing the widget, refresh the source using the OBS or Streamlabs steps above.
The alert preview is only a colored rectangle
Tipeee’s help instructions note that the donation alert may first appear as a colored rectangle in the software preview. Check the alert in Tipeee’s alert configuration using Restart animation, and refresh the source if you have edited the widget.
The preview works, but you are unsure whether a payment will trigger
Restarting the animation previews an alert; it does not establish that a real payment, delivery, or payout has been tested. Review the payment methods and settings visible in your account, and verify the relevant terms before relying on them during a stream.
