No—not reliably. A Premiere is a scheduled event for one uploaded video, and a playlist is an ordered collection viewers can browse. Neither is a dependable, uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast system. For an always-on channel, use a YouTube live stream; a cloud service such as StreamNeo can keep uploaded videos playing as a live stream without leaving a computer running.

Why autoplay is not a 24/7 solution
Autoplay depends on the viewer’s settings and playback environment, so a creator cannot use it to ensure that every viewer receives a continuous sequence. YouTube documents that mobile-network autoplay can stop after 30 minutes of inactivity and Wi-Fi autoplay after four hours. Those are playback behaviors, not a promise that a playlist will keep broadcasting for every viewer.
A playlist is still useful as a library: it gives families a convenient way to find stories in an intended order. A Premiere is useful for giving a new story a shared release time and building anticipation. Use each for those purposes, rather than presenting either as a 24/7 live channel.
Choose a format for the job
Use Premieres for individual story launches
Schedule a Premiere when you want viewers to gather for a particular story at a particular time. The event ends when that video finishes; the upload then remains available as a regular video.

Use playlists to organize the story catalogue
Create clearly named playlists for a series, age range, theme, or listening order. A playlist helps viewers navigate your library, but playback still depends on viewer choices and settings.
Use YouTube Live for an actual continuous broadcast
If the goal is a live channel playing stories around the clock, a real-time stream is the relevant YouTube format. It requires a broadcast source and operational planning; YouTube’s definition of live streaming does not itself promise uninterrupted uptime. Live Redirect can move viewers from a live stream to a Premiere or another stream, but it is a transition feature, not a guarantee of continuous relay.

Set the audience designation carefully
You are responsible for deciding whether each video is made for kids. YouTube says stories, characters, activities, games, and songs that reflect an intent to target children are likely made for kids. Make the designation based on the content and intended audience—not as a convenience or monetization choice.
Made for kids designation affects available features. YouTube lists restrictions that include comments, notifications, personalized advertising, live chat, and saving a video to a playlist; the full set can vary depending on whether the channel or an individual video is designated. Do not build a children’s channel plan around comments, notifications, personalized ads, or viewers saving videos to playlists. YouTube says it does not serve personalized ads on kids content, which may reduce revenue.

Originality matters if you want monetization
YouTube’s channel monetization policy expects original, authentic material and says repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible. Reviewers may consider a channel’s main theme, most-viewed and newest videos, largest share of watch time, metadata, and About section. Reused-content review applies at the channel level.
A recurring storytelling format is not automatically disqualifying: YouTube’s examples allow a series with a similar pattern when each instalment has a distinct storyline, focus, or concept. Near-identical templated stories with little variation or value carry greater monetization risk. On July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content is included. Choosing a Premiere, playlist, or live stream does not itself secure or prevent monetization.

Premiere advertising is not the same as ongoing live monetization
For eligible channels, ads can be enabled on a Premiere: pre-roll ads may run during it, while mid-roll and post-roll ads are unavailable during the event. After the Premiere, the upload’s ad defaults apply. Made for kids designation still affects advertising, including the absence of personalized ads.
