To install Roblox on a Windows PC or laptop, sign in at Roblox.com, open an experience, and select its green Play button; follow the prompt to install Roblox Player. You can also install Roblox’s updated Windows app from the Microsoft Store. Roblox lists 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 for PC installation, so check your system and hardware before troubleshooting an installer that will not run.
Check whether your PC meets Roblox’s requirements
Roblox Support lists 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 for PC installation. It names Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge as supported browsers for using the Roblox website. Newly released or prerelease operating systems may not be supported immediately.
The figures below are Roblox’s published requirements and recommendations, not independent performance-test results. Meeting them does not guarantee that every experience will run smoothly.

If Windows reports that the laptop is unsupported, verify that it is running a supported 64-bit version of Windows. A specific PC’s compatibility cannot be determined from the model name alone; graphics support, processor, memory, storage, network, and any error message all matter.

Install Roblox Player from the website
- Open Roblox.com in Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge and sign in.
- Choose an experience and select its green Play button.
- When the prompt appears, follow it to install Roblox Player. The installation begins as part of launching the experience.
- After installation, select Play on an experience again. If the browser asks which app should open the Roblox link, select Roblox and confirm. The browser may offer to remember this choice for next time.

Install the Roblox app from the Microsoft Store
Roblox announced in 2025 that its updated app, listed as Roblox – Windows, was available through the Microsoft Store and replaced the legacy app. The company described performance and stability improvements on Windows PCs and optional linking of Roblox and Microsoft accounts. App names and availability can change, so check the current Microsoft Store listing before installing. Roblox’s announcement does not provide comparative benchmarks proving that the Store app is faster than Roblox Player for every PC or experience.

Roblox Support identifies symptoms such as a browser that cannot find Roblox, an installation that loops, or Roblox or Studio crashing while connecting to an experience or opening a place. Possible causes include another program running during setup, corrupted temporary files, a firewall blocking Roblox, or other damaged Roblox files.

- Restart the PC. Close other programs before trying to install or update Roblox again.
- Clear temporary internet files. Then return to the Roblox website and try launching an experience again.
- Check firewall permissions. A firewall may prevent Roblox from connecting or being detected by the browser.
- Reinstall Roblox. If the installer still loops or the app continues to crash, remove and reinstall Roblox, then retry the launch.
These are general steps from Roblox Support’s website troubleshooting guidance; they are not a guaranteed fix for every PC. If the problem continues, note the exact error and whether it happens with the website Player or Store app, since the right next step depends on the failure.
