Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →You can send prerecorded video to a scheduled YouTube live event by creating the event in YouTube Studio, feeding its stream URL and key to an encoder or streaming service, then starting the event from Live Control Room after the incoming preview appears. Scheduling creates a shareable upcoming page; it does not establish that one event can run indefinitely. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but its guidance does not promise unlimited runtime for a single event.
What “continuous” means for a scheduled event
A scheduled event is a YouTube live stream with a planned start time and an upcoming watch page viewers can share and use to set reminders. The encoder sends video and audio to that event, but for the scheduled-event workflow you must still wait for the preview and click Go live in Live Control Room.
Do not assume that a scheduled event can remain live forever. YouTube states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; that statement is not a guarantee that longer individual streams will be archived or that one scheduled event can run without interruption. If you need continuous playback beyond a particular event, plan the operating schedule and verify YouTube’s current limits rather than treating scheduling as an unlimited-loop feature. YouTube’s encoder-streaming instructions
Set up the scheduled event and encoder
- Create the event: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live → Manage → Schedule stream. Create a new stream or reuse settings. Add the title, description, visibility, and scheduled start time. The scheduled watch page gives you a destination to share in advance.
- Copy the event’s connection details: In Live Control Room, find the stream URL and stream key for the event. Enter both in the encoder or streaming service that will send your prerecorded program. Treat the key as a credential: YouTube says, “Stream keys are like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Do not publish it, and reset it if it is exposed. YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings
- Load the prerecorded program: Configure the encoder or service to play the video file or media sequence as its outgoing video and audio. Check that the file includes the sound you intend viewers to hear and that the selected sequence behaves as expected at its end. The encoder workflow sends an incoming feed; the playback and looping controls depend on the encoder or service you choose.
- Prepare early: YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before the event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. This leaves time to resolve connection or media problems before viewers arrive. YouTube live streaming tips
- Start the event: Start the encoder and wait for its signal to appear in Live Control Room. Check the preview and audio, then click Go live when ready. Starting the encoder alone is not the scheduled-event launch.
- Monitor and end deliberately: Check stream health while the event is running. When finished, end the stream in YouTube and stop the encoder. If local archiving is part of your workflow, confirm that the archive is actually growing rather than assuming it is recording correctly.
Choose settings the connection and program can sustain
Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for the resolution, frame rate, and bitrate you select. The appropriate bitrate depends on codec, resolution, and frame rate; do not choose a higher target than the upload connection can sustain consistently. Test with representative motion and audio from the actual program, not just a static screen. YouTube recommends RTMPS and lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 video options, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. Your encoder must support the chosen format. YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Connection: Leave enough headroom for normal upload fluctuations. A connection that only barely reaches the selected bitrate is more vulnerable to dropped frames or interruptions.
- Latency: Lower latency can increase playback buffering. For a prerecorded program without real-time audience interaction, low latency may offer little benefit; prioritize stable playback unless there is a specific need for near-real-time viewing.
- DVR: When DVR is enabled, viewers can pause and rewind the live stream and resume from their paused point. Decide whether that behavior suits the program. YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings
- Trailer: YouTube’s scheduled-stream trailer option requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes. The allowed trailer duration is 15 seconds to 3 minutes. Check eligibility and the current Live Control Room controls before building a promotion around it. YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings
Keep the content and channel eligible
Before scheduling, confirm you have the rights needed for every video, music track, image, and other material in the program. A scheduled page and encoder connection do not grant permission to rebroadcast someone else’s work. Review YouTube’s current copyright and live-stream policies for your circumstances, and avoid making assumptions that a recording is safe merely because it is prerecorded or publicly available.
Also consider whether the stream offers viewers meaningful value. Repeating existing material does not by itself establish that a channel meets YouTube’s monetization requirements; review the current YouTube Partner Program policies if monetization is a goal. The encoder guidance does not determine whether a particular channel or program qualifies.

Troubleshoot common launch problems
- No preview in Live Control Room: Check that the encoder is running and that it has the correct event’s stream URL and key. Confirm the selected event is the one scheduled, and that the encoder supports the output format and connection protocol.
- Preview appears, but the event is not public: For a scheduled event, click Go live in Live Control Room after confirming the preview. An encoder connection alone does not complete that launch flow.
- Video or audio stutters: Reduce the output bitrate or resolution, check upload stability, and test again with representative motion and sound. Verify the encoder is using YouTube-compatible settings and the recommended keyframe interval.
- Viewers cannot find the event: Check the event’s scheduled time, visibility, and watch-page access. Share the scheduled page in advance; test access from a signed-out or mobile browser when appropriate.
- Key exposure or wrong event feed: Stop the encoder, confirm which event it should feed, and reset a compromised stream key in YouTube’s stream settings before reconnecting.
- Stream ends or archive expectations are unmet: Check both YouTube’s event status and the encoder/service status. YouTube’s automatic-archive statement applies to streams under 12 hours; do not use it as a guarantee for longer sessions or indefinite operation.
