You can stream a Marathi devotional playlist to YouTube by preparing rights-cleared recordings, creating a stream in YouTube Studio, and sending the playlist through a software or hardware encoder using YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Test it before promoting the broadcast. A continuous playlist needs more planning than pressing “loop”: YouTube’s cited guidance confirms automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, but does not establish that one stream can run indefinitely or guarantee seamless unattended restarts.
Before you begin: check channel access and music rights
Make sure the channel can go live
Your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. If this is its first live stream, enable live streaming in advance; YouTube says activation can take up to 24 hours. YouTube’s general live-stream help page says users must be at least 16 to live stream. Check YouTube’s live-streaming access requirements before setting a launch time.
Clear the rights to each recording
Use recordings for which you have the necessary rights to broadcast live and, if you intend to keep an archive, to make that recording available afterward. The rights question applies to the particular sound recording and arrangement, as well as the underlying music and lyrics; a devotional subject, an old composition, or a recording found online does not by itself make a track free to use. Confirm that your permission covers the relevant territories and uses.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace the stream image, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it if identified content remains. If you have licensed third-party music, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent an interruption when allowlisting is missing. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its Terms of Service. Do not build the playlist until you have checked the rights for every recording.

Prepare the playlist and choose an encoder
Arrange the Marathi devotional recordings in the order you want viewers to hear them, and decide whether the broadcast needs a still image, a changing visual, or another presentation. Keep a local copy of the playlist and note the intended order so you can check playback during the test. For an audio-led program, elaborate video is not required just to send a stream.
YouTube supports two broad encoder routes: software running on a computer and standalone hardware. Choose based on whether the encoder can play the playlist reliably for the intended run, your available upload bandwidth, how you will monitor and recover from problems, and equipment and operating costs. YouTube’s cited guidance does not require a particular computer model, encoder, or minimum system specification. A dedicated computer is an option, not a universal requirement.

Create the YouTube stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio. Choose Create, then Go Live. In the Live Control Room, use the Stream tab to create a stream or schedule one. Scheduling creates a watch page you can share in advance. Set the visibility and metadata for the event.
- Copy the connection details. In Live Control Room, copy YouTube’s stream URL and stream key. Enter them in the encoder’s server URL and stream-key fields. YouTube documents RTMP and RTMPS; use RTMPS when your encoder supports it. The key is a credential: do not post it, share it publicly, or include it in screenshots. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update the encoder.
- Set the encoder output. YouTube’s encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 among video codec options, and AAC or MP3 audio for RTMP/RTMPS. Available choices depend on the encoder and stream design. Choose settings the encoder and connection can sustain, then test them rather than assuming one bitrate or resolution fits every setup. - Load the playlist and visual. Configure the encoder to play the cleared recordings in the intended order and include the visual element you chose. Confirm that audio is routed to the stream and that playback behavior at the end of the playlist is understood; do not assume an encoder will restart or loop unattended unless its own current documentation confirms that behavior.
- Start the encoder and wait for the preview. Check Live Control Room for the incoming preview and stream-health status before making the event public or announcing it as live. Once first-time activation is complete, YouTube says streams can be started instantly.
Test playback, network capacity, and viewer access
Run a private or unlisted test before relying on the setup for a long broadcast. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the real stream, and monitoring stream health. Confirm the track order, audible and stable sound, suitable visual, Live Control Room preview, and access to the watch page on the channel and on a mobile device. YouTube’s live-streaming tips are available at its encoder setup and testing guidance.
Measure actual upload speed rather than relying on download speed. YouTube recommends roughly 20% upload headroom above the combined stream bitrate; other devices or users on the same connection can reduce available capacity. For example, if the encoded stream’s combined audio and video bitrate is 10 Mbps, plan for about 12 Mbps of upload capacity under the conditions in which you will stream. That is a headroom calculation, not a YouTube-mandated bitrate for this playlist. A stable connection and monitoring reduce risk, but no setup should be treated as failproof. Plan the duration and any handoff
YouTube’s encoder instructions say, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” This describes archival behavior for streams below 12 hours; it does not establish that longer streams are impossible, nor does it promise that a single broadcast can remain live forever. The cited guidance also does not specify a universal maximum duration or a universally supported seamless restart for unattended prerecorded playlists. Before designing an all-day or 24/7 schedule, check current YouTube Studio behavior and the chosen encoder’s current documentation, and plan how a human or supported system will handle an ending, interruption, or restart.

Troubleshooting common setup problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Check channel verification and whether a live-stream restriction applies. For a first broadcast, allow up to 24 hours for activation rather than scheduling a last-minute launch.
- The Live Control Room shows no preview: Verify that the encoder is running, the correct server URL and current stream key are entered, and the encoder is sending a supported output. If the key may be wrong or compromised, reset it in Live Control Room and replace it in the encoder.
- The stream health is poor or playback stutters: Check upload speed while the encoder is running, reduce competing network use, and leave the recommended roughly 20% headroom above total stream bitrate. Test a sustainable output instead of raising quality beyond available capacity.
- Audio is silent, unstable, or out of order: Check the encoder’s audio input and output routing, then play the playlist in a test stream and verify both sound and track order from the viewer side.
- YouTube interrupts the stream for a rights issue: Stop and review the affected recording and permissions. For licensed third-party material, ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting; do not assume that merely holding a license prevents automated interruption.
- The playlist stops or the stream ends unexpectedly: Check the encoder’s playlist-end and restart behavior and consult its current documentation. YouTube’s under-12-hour archive statement is not a guarantee of indefinite streaming or automatic restart.
