There is no documented one-click import for moving a recurring YouTube stream schedule from Gyre to Restream. Plan to rebuild the schedule in Restream, reconnect each YouTube event or create new ones, and verify the new setup before retiring the Gyre workflow.
What moves—and what does not
Gyre’s Streams Scheduler and a YouTube live event are separate parts of the setup. Restream’s instructions cover selecting an existing YouTube event or creating one in Restream; they do not document importing Gyre’s recurring schedule. Treat this as a manual migration. Gyre’s Streams Scheduler guide and Restream’s YouTube channel instructions explain the respective workflows.
A YouTube event is also a one-time destination: Restream says you can go live to a YouTube event only once. You can reuse a stream configuration, but a recurring series needs a separate event instance for each broadcast date. Google’s YouTube Live API documentation describes scheduled broadcasts as individual broadcast resources that can be bound to a reusable stream resource.
Before you switch: record each Gyre stream
Make an inventory for every recurring broadcast. The available documentation does not establish that Gyre offers a complete schedule export, so check your account and copy details manually if necessary.

- YouTube event URL, title, description, thumbnail, privacy setting, date, time, and time zone.
- The source video or playlist, and whether the stream is a prerecorded loop or a live encoder feed.
- Any YouTube stream URL and stream key used by an encoder or Custom RTMP connection. Treat the key as a password; do not share it or include it in notes that others can access.
- Whether YouTube auto-start and auto-stop are enabled, and any planned gaps or exceptions in the recurring schedule.
Choose how Restream will connect to YouTube

Prefer the native integration if selecting the event works in your account and you need Restream’s API-dependent channel features. Choose Custom RTMP only if manual credentials suit your workflow and the paid-plan requirement is acceptable.
Rebuild the recurring schedule in Restream
1. Connect the YouTube channel or add Custom RTMP
- For native integration: Connect your YouTube channel to Restream. Open or create the intended Restream stream or event, edit its YouTube channel destination, choose the existing scheduled YouTube event from the dropdown, and save. See Restream’s channel and event instructions.
- For Custom RTMP: In YouTube Live Control Room, open the intended event and copy its stream URL and stream key. In Restream, add a Custom RTMP channel, enter those credentials, and turn that destination on for the stream. Check the event’s auto-start and auto-stop settings in YouTube. Custom RTMP requires a paid Restream plan.
2. Recreate each broadcast date
Schedule from an existing stream card, a Studio setup, an RTMP setup, or a prerecorded video or playlist. Restream supports these scheduling options, but each YouTube event can be used to go live only once. Create a new YouTube event for each date in the recurring series, even if you reuse the same Restream setup. For prerecorded videos or playlists, Restream says the event starts automatically at its scheduled time. See Restream’s scheduling instructions and event setup details.

3. Re-enter event details and confirm timing
For each new or connected event, check the title, description, date and time, thumbnail, privacy, selected channel, and time zone. Confirm that the correct video, playlist, or encoder input is attached. Restream’s event setup instructions describe these event details and caution against going live to an event before its scheduled time.
Test the new workflow without consuming an event early
- Verify each Restream stream points to the intended YouTube event—not a different event in the dropdown.
- Check event privacy, metadata, thumbnail, schedule, and time zone in YouTube.
- Confirm the correct prerecorded source or encoder input is selected.
- Check YouTube auto-start and auto-stop. If either is off, plan for the required manual action in YouTube.
- Test the configuration without starting a one-time scheduled YouTube event prematurely. Restream specifically cautions against going live to an event before its scheduled time.
- Keep the Gyre workflow available until the Restream setup is verified and the next broadcast has been accounted for.
Plan and eligibility checks
Restream says Events are available on all plans, though event thumbnails on the free plan carry Restream branding. Custom RTMP requires a paid Restream plan. Gyre’s October 2026 update lists its scheduler in the free trial, Start+, and PRO+ plans, but not Start; check your current account entitlements before changing services because plan names and features can change.
