Stella Montis’s lower Loading Bay is the strongest guide-reported lead, but no listed spot guarantees a Bastion in every raid. When you find one, use hard cover to escape its gatling fire and target its yellow leg joints and rear canister.
Where Bastions can spawn
The community-maintained ARC Raiders Wiki lists these reported locations. Treat them as places worth checking, not confirmed spawn points for every raid or a ranking by probability.

Best place to start: Stella Montis Loading Bay
Several guides single out the Loading Bay. Dexerto calls it a reliable lead, while GamesRadar describes a Bastion sighting there as guaranteed. These are guide observations, not an official spawn guarantee or published probability. GameSpot also recommends checking the Loading Bay.
Other useful leads
GameSpot also recommends Marano Park in Buried City. Blue Gate’s Outer Gates, along with the other named spots in the table, are additional reported locations to check if your route takes you there. Guides do not establish official spawn odds for any of them, so choose based on the map and route you can search safely rather than an assumed percentage chance.

How to survive a Bastion encounter
A Bastion is slow and heavily armored, but its gatling gun makes open ground dangerous. The wiki describes a loud screech before it fires a three-second burst toward the last position where it saw a Raider.
- Listen for the warning. The screech signals that a burst is coming. Audio can help you recognize it, but no particular headset is required.
- Break line of sight. Get behind hard cover, a building, or terrain as soon as it becomes alert. Do not stay exposed to trade shots.
- Reposition before firing again. Move while the Bastion is shooting or after you reach cover; avoid peeking from the same exposed position into its next volley.
- Attack when you have a safer angle. Aim at its weak points from cover, and use any stun to reposition or keep dealing damage.
Where to aim and what happens when weak points break
Target the yellow leg joints (kneecaps) and the yellow canister at the rear. These critical areas are more useful targets than simply spraying the armored body.

- Leg joint: Destroying one briefly stuns the Bastion, giving you an opening to adjust position or continue firing.
- Rear canister: Destroying it also causes a brief stun and removes rear armor, exposing a larger barrel-like weak spot. Keep attacking that exposed area when you have a safe shot.
These weak-point and stun mechanics are described by the wiki and GamesRadar. A stun creates an opportunity, not a reason to stand in the open: use it from a position where you can avoid the next burst.
Choosing weapons and explosives
There is no guide-supported universal best loadout. The available examples trade gear cost and damage potential against how long you need to stay exposed; your supplies, aim, squad size, and current balance can all change what makes sense.

For a solo Raider, prioritize cover and reliable weak-point shots rather than assuming you can exploit every stun for sustained damage. A squad may be able to take advantage of a stun while another player changes position, but the guides do not establish a measured team-size advantage.

Salvaging a destroyed Bastion can yield a Bastion Cell, which the wiki says is used to upgrade the Gear Bench. GameSpot also discusses getting a cell for the “Settled in Full” quest, and GamesRadar describes cells as a Gear Bench progression requirement. Check the live quest and bench screens for the quantity and level requirements, which can vary by game version.
