To alternate Hindi and English programming on one YouTube channel, schedule the live event in YouTube Studio, but schedule the actual playlist changes in the software, hardware, or cloud service that sends the video feed. YouTube’s event scheduler creates the upcoming watch page; it does not, by itself, rotate playlists inside a continuous live stream.
What YouTube schedules—and what it does not
A 24/7 broadcast has two connected parts. The live broadcast is the event viewers open on YouTube. The live stream is the audio-video feed supplied by an encoder or playback service. Google’s Live Streaming API distinguishes these resources, including the possibility of a continuous feed and a separate broadcast (YouTube Live Streaming API documentation).
YouTube Studio can schedule and promote an upcoming event. The reviewed YouTube guidance does not document a Studio playlist scheduler that automatically switches Hindi and English playlists during one ongoing event. Plan language blocks in the playback layer instead, and verify that the specific tool supports the exact timetable, playlist order, looping, transitions, and restart behavior you need.
Choose how to run the playback feed

YouTube describes encoder categories and maintains a list of verified encoder options, but says that list is not an endorsement of every product’s capabilities (YouTube Live encoder guidance). Before choosing, compare language scheduling and looping, recovery after an interruption, whether a computer must stay on, stream-key handling, monitoring, recording and archive arrangements, and recurring equipment or service costs. If you choose another service, check its current controls directly rather than assuming a generic “24/7” feature includes timed Hindi/English rotation.
Prepare the Hindi and English schedule
- Set the timetable. Choose the language blocks, their start times, and the order of videos. Specify the time zone and decide what should happen at each transition, including whether a video may finish before the next block begins.
- Prepare the media and permissions. Check that you have the necessary rights for every video, song, recording, and other item in both rotations. A playlist or streaming subscription does not grant permission to rebroadcast its contents.
- Configure playback. In your encoder or automation service, build the intended Hindi and English playlists and set the schedule. Confirm that it supports the requested timing, transitions, looping, and behavior after a restart; do not assume a normal YouTube video playlist controls a live feed.
- Test privately first. Run an unlisted event. Check the order and timing from a viewer account, listen for consistent and suitable audio levels, watch transitions, and test how the feed recovers if playback or the connection stops.
- Publish a schedule viewers can follow. YouTube recommends choosing a sustainable schedule and communicating changes to viewers. Share the expected language blocks and time zone, and update viewers when the timetable changes (YouTube scheduling guidance).
Schedule the YouTube event and connect the feed
- In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live, then open Manage.
- Select Schedule stream. Create a new stream or reuse settings. Scheduling gives you an upcoming watch page that you can share; viewers may be able to set a reminder.
- Review the title, description, visibility, and other metadata. Reusing settings copies metadata, settings, and the stream key, so check both the public-facing details and credentials before proceeding (YouTube live stream settings).
- Use the YouTube stream URL and stream key in your encoder or playback service. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to the channel.
- At the scheduled time, start the encoder or cloud playback. Wait for the feed preview in Live Control Room, check that the expected video and audio are arriving, then follow YouTube’s on-screen prompt to select Go live if required. Scheduling the event ahead of time does not start the media playback feed for you.
Plan recording and archives for a continuous channel
YouTube Help states: “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” The stated condition is streams under 12 hours; the guidance does not promise automatic archiving for a longer broadcast. A channel that runs continuously should arrange its own recording and archive workflow rather than rely on a full-day VOD being saved. Check current Studio behavior for your channel before relying on any archive process (YouTube Live encoder guidance).

Common problems and practical fixes
- The language does not change at the scheduled time: The YouTube event schedule and the playback timetable are separate. Check the playlist scheduler in your encoder or service, its time zone, and whether it waits for a current video to finish.
- The event page exists but viewers see no picture or sound: The event was scheduled, but the feed may not be running or connected. Start playback, check the stream URL and key, and confirm that the Live Control Room preview receives audio and video.
- The wrong event details appear: Reused settings can carry old metadata. Review the event title, description, visibility, and other settings before sharing the watch page.
- The feed stops after an interruption: Check the internet connection and encoder or service restart behavior. Test recovery before relying on unattended operation; continuous-stream support does not guarantee identical recovery features across tools.
- A long broadcast has no complete archive: The stated automatic archive guidance covers streams under 12 hours, not a guaranteed full-day recording. Use a separate recording and archive plan.
- A video or song is claimed or removed: Recheck the rights and applicable YouTube policies for each item. The fact that media can be added to a playlist does not establish permission to broadcast it.
