Streamlabs Multistream lets creators send a live broadcast to several streaming destinations at once. Full multi-destination streaming is an Ultra feature, while Streamlabs says its free Dual Output feature can send one horizontal stream to one platform and one vertical stream to another. Its cloud-forwarding design may reduce the need to upload separate copies from your computer, but Streamlabs’ performance and audience-growth claims are not independent benchmarks.

This is a source-based feature review, not a hands-on test. Whether it suits you depends on your eligible accounts, destination-specific rules, chat needs, and—if you stream on Twitch—your contract.

What Streamlabs Multistream does

Streamlabs describes Multistream as a way to broadcast one live show to multiple destinations at the same time. Its product page lists Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Kick, Facebook, Patreon, X (Twitter), Instagram, and additional destinations through custom RTMP connections. Platform availability and account requirements can vary; a destination appearing on the list does not mean every creator can access it.

Streamlabs says its servers receive a stream and forward it to the destinations you select. Its Dual Output feature sends two outputs to Streamlabs—one horizontal and one vertical. Streamlabs contrasts this with local approaches that encode and upload separate versions for each platform. That describes the company’s stated architecture, not a verified comparison of CPU use, bandwidth, reliability, or picture quality.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Free access versus Streamlabs Ultra

Capability What Streamlabs says is included
Dual Output Free use for one horizontal destination and one vertical destination.
Full multistreaming Requires Streamlabs Ultra. Streamlabs’ setup documentation says Ultra users can stream to as many destinations as they want; confirm current plan terms before subscribing.
Price Not stated in the consulted official product and setup sources; check Streamlabs’ current plan information.

In practical terms, Dual Output is a limited free option for sending landscape and portrait formats to two destinations, not a free way to add an unlimited number of platforms.

Destinations, chat, and output formats

Destination choices

You can link supported platform accounts and toggle on the destinations you want, or use custom RTMP settings where available. Streamlabs lists Streamlabs Desktop, its OBS plugin, Streamlabs Mobile, and dashboard-generated RTMP settings for other streaming software. Account eligibility, connection permissions, and platform rules still apply.

Chat is not equally interactive everywhere

Streamlabs’ current product page says Multichat supports reading and posting for YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook Pages. It lists read-only chat for Kick, X, and Facebook Profiles. Do not assume you can reply to every destination from one chat panel; check the supported actions for your account and destination.

Horizontal and vertical streams

Dual Output is designed for separate horizontal and vertical canvases. This can suit a creator who wants a conventional landscape broadcast alongside a portrait-format version. Destination-specific requirements remain important: for example, sending a dual-format TikTok stream depends on meeting TikTok’s own streaming requirements.

Switching devices mid-stream

Streamlabs describes Stream Shift as a way to move an active stream between a PC, mobile device, or another computer without ending the broadcast. This is a stated product capability, not a feature independently tested for this review.

How setup works

  1. Connect destinations. In Streamlabs Desktop, link the platform accounts you intend to use. Confirm that each account is eligible to stream and that you have authorized the necessary permissions.
  2. Choose where to broadcast. Open the Go Live window and select the destinations for this session. If you use a different application, Streamlabs lists an OBS plugin and dashboard-provided RTMP settings as alternative routes.
  3. Set the broadcast details. Streamlabs’ quick setup guide says title and description can be shared across platforms. Choose categories separately when needed because platform game libraries may differ.
  4. Check each destination’s format and access requirements. Confirm any platform-specific settings before going live, especially when using vertical output or a custom RTMP connection.
  5. Review chat permissions. Know which destinations allow replies through Multichat and which are read-only so you can plan how to respond to viewers.
  6. Start the stream and verify destinations. Check that the broadcast appears where expected and that the correct title, category, and output format are in use.

Pros and limitations

Where it may help

  • One workflow reaches several audiences. Multistreaming can help you see which destinations connect with your viewers, though being live in more places does not guarantee audience growth.
  • Cloud forwarding may reduce separate outbound uploads. Streamlabs says it receives one stream and forwards it. This is a design claim; the consulted sources do not provide independent bandwidth or system-resource tests.
  • Several ways to connect. Desktop, an OBS plugin, mobile, and RTMP settings give creators different workflow options.
  • A free landscape-plus-portrait use case. Streamlabs says Dual Output can send one horizontal and one vertical output to a platform each without Ultra.
  • Some centralized chat. Multichat can make cross-platform viewing easier, with the important distinction that read and post support varies by destination.

What to weigh before choosing it

  • Full multistreaming is subscription-gated. Streamlabs ties unlimited destination multistreaming to Ultra; current price and plan terms should be confirmed directly.
  • Chat actions are uneven. Some listed destinations are read-only in Multichat.
  • Platform setup is still your responsibility. You need valid connections and must meet each destination’s current eligibility and technical rules.
  • Performance advantages are not established independently here. The product description does not supply independent CPU, GPU, upload-bandwidth, uptime, or quality benchmarks.

Does multistreaming help you grow?

Streamlabs promotes the possibility that multistreaming helps creators find viewers across platforms. Its product page also carries the claim that new creators who multistream are twice as likely to reach five or more concurrent viewers; Streamlabs qualifies this as applying to new users who had streamed up to six months and multistreamed at least seven times. The claim is undated on that page and its methodology is not explained there, so treat it as Streamlabs’ promotional claim—not a general or independently established outcome.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

Multistreaming is best understood as a way to test distribution, not a growth guarantee. It can make sense if you can serve audiences across several platforms without sacrificing show quality or your ability to engage. If most of your viewers are in one place, or you need reliable two-way interaction everywhere, the extra destinations may add complexity without much benefit.

Check Twitch terms before simulcasting

Streamlabs specifically advises Twitch Affiliates and Partners to read their contracts because some cases may require exclusivity. The applicable obligation depends on your own agreement; this review cannot determine whether your planned simulcast is allowed. Review your contract and current Twitch terms before broadcasting elsewhere at the same time.

Who Streamlabs Multistream is for

  • A reasonable fit: creators with eligible accounts on several services who want one control workflow, or who want to test landscape and portrait outputs.
  • Consider carefully: Twitch Affiliates or Partners who have not checked their contracts, creators whose target platforms have unresolved eligibility requirements, and anyone relying on chat replies across all destinations.
  • Less compelling: a creator with a concentrated single-platform audience who does not need the added reach or format options.

Or let it run in the cloud

Streamlabs Multistream is for sending a live broadcast to multiple destinations. If what you need instead is a YouTube channel that keeps uploaded videos playing around the clock, StreamNeo is a separate cloud service: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay running at home; it streams your uploaded video at its original quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the Monthly price is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or start the free day.
