You can schedule a YouTube encoder event and set a Live Redirect to send viewers to a Premiere or another live stream when the scheduled stream ends. That does not create a recurring schedule or guarantee an unattended 24/7 broadcast: plan and verify each event and handoff separately. YouTube’s cited help pages describe a general workflow, not India-specific differences.
What a Live Redirect does—and what it does not do
A Live Redirect sends viewers from your stream to a selected Premiere or another live stream after the originating stream ends. It is an end-of-stream handoff, not a way to start the next event automatically or keep one stream running indefinitely.
YouTube’s documented scheduling workflow creates a stream event. Its help pages do not establish recurring schedules, automatic unattended restarts, or uninterrupted 24/7 operation. For a music channel intended to be continuously live, you must separately plan how each event starts and ends, then check the handoff in Studio.
Check eligibility before scheduling
Live streaming eligibility
Before setting an event, verify that your channel is eligible to live stream. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its general live-streaming guidance says streamers must be at least 16. See YouTube’s live streaming eligibility guidance.

Live Redirect eligibility
To send viewers with Live Redirect, the sending channel must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. If the destination is on a different channel, that channel’s creator must permit your channel to redirect viewers to it. Check YouTube’s Live Redirect requirements and setup guidance.
Schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live to open Live Control Room.
- Open Manage, then select Schedule stream.
- Create a new stream or choose to reuse settings. Enter the event details, including metadata and audience information, then save.
- Open the scheduled event’s customization settings and find Redirect. Select Add, then choose the Premiere or other live stream viewers should reach after this event ends.
- If you chose a stream on another channel, confirm that its creator has allowed your channel to redirect to it. YouTube recommends setting up the destination Premiere before the source stream.
- Prepare your encoder to send its feed to the scheduled event. When the event is approaching, start the encoder, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, and check the picture and sound before selecting Go live.
- When it is time to hand off, end the originating stream. The redirect takes place after that stream ends; viewers may need to wait a few seconds for the destination to load.
YouTube says a scheduled stream may appear as upcoming, allowing viewers to select Notify me. Follow YouTube’s encoder event setup instructions and live stream settings guidance for the current Studio workflow.

Prepare and verify the handoff before airtime
- Set up early: YouTube recommends setting up an encoder event at least two hours before it begins and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the event.
- Check the preview: Confirm the scheduled event is receiving the encoder feed and that the audio and video are correct before selecting Go live.
- Prepare the destination: Make sure the selected Premiere or live stream is ready, and confirm cross-channel permission if it belongs to another creator.
- Monitor the stream: Watch the event rather than assuming a scheduled start or redirect will cover failures or gaps. YouTube’s live streaming tips recommend advance setup and monitoring.
- Tell viewers what to expect: Explain that the destination loads after the source ends and that there may be a brief wait.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement concerns archiving; it does not establish a 12-hour scheduling limit or a method for maintaining a 24/7 channel.
Plan a 24/7 music channel as separate events
For a manually operated channel, map out each event’s start, expected end, and next destination. Schedule the events in Studio, set the redirect destination for each source stream, and verify each transition. Do not treat one scheduled event or one redirect as a recurring playlist or automatic restart loop.

YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console options for live streaming. The scheduled encoder workflow above is the relevant one when a music feed is being sent from an encoder; the documented redirect behavior itself does not establish a continuous broadcast system.
