These options solve different parts of the problem. A video file being scheduled as a live event does not automatically mean it repeats, and a vertical broadcast does not necessarily mean one service produces both landscape and portrait events.

What “vertical” means on YouTube Live
For a conventional portrait video, the relevant aspect ratio is 9:16. YouTube’s Live Control Room supports vertical output as well as horizontal 16:9, and its vertical layout can be adjusted. The default is a center crop of the horizontal stream; available adjustments include center crop, fit to phone width, and stacked layouts, with zoom and position controls. YouTube says vertical live streams can be discovered by mobile viewers browsing Shorts. It also lists format-dependent feature differences: clickable links in chat and the channel description, plus live pre-roll and mid-roll ads, are listed for horizontal viewing, not vertical viewing. Check the current YouTube interface and guidance when these features matter to your channel.
Restream: the documented replay limit
Restream Upload & Stream can schedule a single prerecorded video or a playlist as a live event. Its help page documents replaying a scheduled video up to 10 times. That is a specific, finite replay allowance; it does not establish continuous or unlimited playback. If your requirement is a true 24/7 loop, do not infer that the 10-replay feature meets it. For Shorts-feed visibility, Restream says the feed must be vertical at 9:16. Its vertical guide covers portrait orientation and third-party encoder output, while its OBS plugin guide describes sending landscape and portrait as separate YouTube live events, each with a customizable feed. StreamYard: scheduled playback and dual-format output
StreamYard’s prerecorded-stream guide says a broadcast begins automatically at its scheduled time and ends when its video finishes. The reviewed documentation does not say that the video repeats, so treat it as a one-play scheduled event unless StreamYard confirms a repeat feature for your plan.

The guide documents MP4/H.264 uploads, a 10 Mbps maximum upload bitrate, up to 1080p on paid plans, and plan-dependent file-size and duration limits. It lists video-duration limits of 2, 4, or 8 hours depending on plan, and scheduling as far as 365 days ahead. These are vendor-published limits, not guarantees that every plan or account currently has the same allowance; check the current StreamYard prerecorded-stream documentation before preparing a long broadcast.

Choose by repeat length and event layout
- Need a scheduled file repeated a limited number of times? Restream is the option in this comparison that explicitly documents replays, up to 10.

Repeated prerecorded content can also affect how a channel is assessed for originality and value; a live label is not a substitute for rights or policy compliance. Resolve claims and permissions before scheduling a long broadcast, and do not treat a streaming service’s ability to play a file as YouTube approval.
