StreamYard can schedule a prerecorded broadcast, but that broadcast ends when its video finishes. StreamYard’s separate clip-loop control repeats a clip inside an active studio; it is not the same as an unattended scheduled replay.
Which service should you choose?

These are different workflows: a scheduled prerecorded event plays a prepared file as a livestream, while a studio clip loop is one element of a broadcast that someone is operating.
How Restream’s prerecorded-event loop works
Restream’s prerecorded-event workflow lets you upload or choose a video, enter event details, choose destinations, set a loop count, and schedule the event. It starts automatically at the chosen time. YouTube is among the destinations for which Restream says it can create an event post in advance.
Limits and plan qualification
- The native loop control allows up to 10 plays of a video.
- The resulting stream can run for up to 40 hours, according to Restream’s looping help page, dated March 11, 2026.
- Restream identifies looping as a paid feature available with Marathon and Media add-on plans. Do not assume the loop control is included in every plan.
- The repeated plays are part of one event, not separate scheduled livestreams.
- Native looping applies to uploads and stream recordings, not playlists. Restream says playlists do not currently loop.
As a workaround, Restream suggests duplicating videos inside a playlist, which can have up to 40 entries. That creates a sequence of repeated entries; it is not the same as using the native loop control.

Scheduling a loop
- In Restream, open Upload & Stream and create a prerecorded event.
- Upload or select the video, then fill in the event details and select YouTube as a destination.
- Set the desired loop count, keeping the 10-play and 40-hour ceilings in mind.
- Choose a scheduled start time and create the event. Check the event details and destination before the start time.
Restream’s Upload & Stream documentation describes scheduled recorded-video livestreams, chat during an event, single videos and playlists. It also lists desktop and mobile uploads and imports through Descript, Google Drive, and Dropbox. Storage and video-size limits depend on add-on tier.
What StreamYard does—and what it does not document
StreamYard’s prerecorded-stream workflow accepts a local video or a previous StreamYard broadcast/recording, lets you choose destinations and a date and time, then starts automatically. Its help page says the broadcast ends when the selected video finishes. It does not document automatic replay of that scheduled prerecorded broadcast.

StreamYard separately offers a video-clip loop: add a clip from the media assets tab in an active broadcast studio and it repeats until manually stopped. This is useful for a holding card or extended intro while someone runs a live production. It should not be mistaken for a scheduled prerecorded event that keeps replaying on its own.
Practical constraints for prerecorded broadcasts
StreamYard says prerecorded broadcasts do not run through the studio. As a result, you cannot show comments on-stream or control overlays and media assets as you can in a standard live broadcast. Its help page lists MP4 with H.264 video, a maximum upload bitrate of 10 Mbps, and up to 1080p on paid plans. Listed maximum durations are two hours on Core, four hours on Advanced, and eight hours on Teams/Business. Concurrent scheduling limits also vary by plan. These plan limits can change, so verify the current StreamYard help page before relying on a specific limit.

StreamYard says prerecorded streams can be scheduled up to 365 days in advance in its supported destinations documentation. That is a scheduling horizon, not a promise that the service repeats the file.

Check YouTube eligibility, rights, and monetization separately
The streaming service does not grant rights to the video or music. YouTube’s livestream terms require creators to follow Community Guidelines and represent that they have the necessary rights for the livestream, including music licensing rights where applicable.

For live streaming generally, YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. See YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance; this is YouTube eligibility, not a special Restream or StreamYard condition.
Looping a video does not guarantee monetization. YouTube’s monetization policies say monetized content should be original and authentic; generic, mass-produced, or repetitive content may be ineligible. The policy applies to livestreams as well as other video formats.
