The best streaming software for a multi-guest interview depends on what matters most: easy guest access, the number of people on screen, separate tracks for editing, or live distribution to several channels. StreamYard is a sensible first option for a browser-based live show with guest links and production controls; Riverside is worth comparing when separate participant recordings are central; and Restream is another browser studio to assess for live distribution. None is a universal winner, so check current plan limits before subscribing.
Choose by the job your interview needs to do
- Simple guest entry: Prioritize a browser-based studio with a link guests can open without creating an account or installing software. StreamYard says guests can join by link without an account.
- Editing flexibility: Look for separate audio and video tracks for each participant, not just one mixed recording. StreamYard and Riverside describe participant-level recordings or tracks.
- More people on camera: Compare the number of on-screen participants with the total number who can be recorded. Those figures can differ, and caps vary by plan.
- Live reach: Check the number of destinations included, whether guests can send the show to their own channels, and each platform’s limits. Recording and multistreaming are separate capabilities.
The plan figures below are vendor-published claims, not independent performance tests. Limits, pricing and included features can change; confirm the current terms directly with each service before buying.

StreamYard: a practical starting point for live interviews
StreamYard’s browser studio is a reasonable first option to evaluate if you want guests to join with a link and you need live production controls. Its official recording page describes a separate local audio and video file for each participant, uploaded to StreamYard in the background. This can give an editor more flexibility than a single mixed file, though the final workflow depends on the recording and editing needs of your show.
Participant and destination limits
StreamYard’s pricing page, accessed in 2026, lists six on-screen participants on Free and ten on Core. Its recording page, also accessed in 2026, says paid plans can record up to ten people total and Free supports six. Core lists three multistream destinations and Advanced lists eight. These are distinct limits: on-screen capacity, recording capacity and destination count should each match your format.

StreamYard’s help center says guest destinations are a paid feature and have their own caps. Its destination guidance also lists platform-specific streaming limits. A broadcast may continue even if recording stops after storage is exceeded, so check both destination rules and retained storage before relying on a long session.

When Riverside or Restream may fit better
Choose Riverside to assess a separate-track workflow
Riverside’s FAQ says up to ten participants can be recorded on separate high-quality audio and video tracks. Its FAQ also says live streaming can reach up to 1080p depending on connection and destination. If clean participant tracks are the deciding factor, compare those capabilities against your editing process and confirm which current plan includes the recording hours, storage and guest capacity you need.
Evaluate Restream for guest capacity and distribution
Restream’s Help Center states that its free Studio supports up to five guests and paid plans support up to nine, with Full HD enabled on paid plans. Those facts do not establish its current destination count, separate-track workflow or recording requirements. Check those points against the format you plan to produce rather than assuming a live studio includes a particular recording workflow.
