Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →ProPresenter can send a configured Audience or Stage screen to a live stream through RTMP, and its documentation also describes a Resi integration. The basic workflow is to decide what viewers should see, configure the relevant screen and any camera or audio inputs, choose the capture destination, then rehearse and monitor the feed. ProPresenter captures one screen at a time, so a camera-and-slides composition must be arranged in the screen you select rather than assumed to combine separate screens automatically.
Choose what the stream should show
Start with the remote audience’s view: presentation content alone, a camera feed, or a composition that includes both. ProPresenter separates crowd-facing Audience screens from Stage screens designed for performers or operators. In ProPresenter, open Screens > Configure Screens to configure screens and their outputs. An output connects a configured screen to a physical or digital destination, and the screen’s assigned content and Look determine what appears in the captured feed. See Renewed Vision’s Screen Configuration guide and screen configuration support article.
- Slides or presentation media: choose the Audience screen carrying the material intended for viewers.
- Camera: configure a video input first, then include or trigger it in the desired screen’s content.
- Stage information: select a Stage screen only if its operator or performer-oriented content is what the remote audience should receive.
The selected screen matters: the documented capture workflow takes one ProPresenter screen at a time, not multiple screens as independent stream sources.
Add a camera when the stream needs one
Live camera video must be configured as a ProPresenter Video Input before it can be used in the presentation. Renewed Vision documents USB capture devices, SDI interfaces, NDI sources and Syphon on macOS. Its examples include Elgato CamLink for USB capture and DeckLink Duo for SDI; these are examples, not universal compatibility guarantees. Check camera output, connector, operating system and resolution support against your equipment and installed ProPresenter release. The vendor’s procedure is in Setting Up A Video Input in ProPresenter.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Connect and power the camera or video source, then verify the computer recognizes the capture device or network source.
- In ProPresenter, open Settings > Inputs, add a Video Input, select the source and configure any associated audio.
- Test the feed, then trigger the input from the Video Input Playlist or use it on a slide or action as appropriate for the presentation.
- Place the camera and presentation elements in the Audience screen/Look that you intend to capture, and check that the live output shows the correct composition.
Not every setup needs a camera, capture card or particular interface. Select an input path based on the equipment and infrastructure already available.
Route audio for the remote audience
Decide whether the stream should carry ProPresenter media audio, a dedicated console mix, or both. Do not assume the room’s speaker feed is automatically the right stream mix: it may include playback already sent by ProPresenter, which can result in doubled audio if that playback is also captured separately. Renewed Vision describes capture audio routing in its Recording and RTMP Streaming documentation.

One documented simultaneous house-and-stream example assigns a console return to ProPresenter internal channels 3 and 4, selects those channels for capture, and disables capture of channels 1 and 2 so media already routed to the house console is not doubled. This is an example topology, not a universal channel prescription; use the channel assignments that match your console and signal path. The full example is in Renewed Vision’s simultaneous house and livestream audio guide.
- Confirm which device or console output feeds stream capture.
- Check whether ProPresenter media is already present in that return.
- Monitor the resulting stream audio, including level and sync, before the event.
Configure capture and choose a destination
Open Capture Settings from Screens > Capture Settings or the Live button. Select the configured Audience or Stage screen intended for viewers, set capture parameters appropriate to the destination, and choose the output route. The current user guide reviewed identifies its content as current through ProPresenter 7.12; menu names and device compatibility can differ by installed release, so check the guide for your version at Renewed Vision’s ProPresenter User Guide.

RTMP destination
ProPresenter documents direct RTMP streaming and recording, including simultaneous recording while streaming. Obtain the server address and stream key from the provider you plan to use, then enter the destination details in the appropriate capture settings for your installed release. The reviewed documentation establishes RTMP generally, not current ingest instructions for a particular social platform, so use that platform’s own current live-stream setup page for its endpoint and account requirements. Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish it or share it in screenshots. See Other Features.
Resi integration
Renewed Vision also documents sending a stream to Resi after the account and integration setup, where Resi processes and delivers it to configured destinations. Account requirements, destination availability and service terms depend on Resi’s current offering; confirm those directly with Resi. ProPresenter’s procedure is at Setting up Resi Streaming in ProPresenter.

Rehearse, start and monitor the stream
- Confirm the intended screen and Look are active, with the right slides, media and camera composition visible.
- Check that the selected capture audio channels contain the intended stream mix and that levels and sync are acceptable.
- Verify the destination details and confirm that the receiving service sees the intended picture and sound.
- Start using Capture Settings, the Live button, or Screens > Start Streaming, as available in your installed version.
- Watch the Preview window’s capture progress indicator and monitor the stream at the destination during the event.
Run this check before the event rather than relying on a successful local preview alone: the remote destination must receive the correct screen, audio and live signal.
Troubleshoot common setup problems
- The stream shows the wrong content: confirm Capture Settings points to the intended configured screen, then check that the correct Look and layers are active on it.
- The camera is missing or black: verify the device is connected and recognized, check the selected Video Input and confirm that its format is compatible with the computer and installed ProPresenter release.
- There is no stream audio: inspect capture audio routing and confirm the selected source or channels actually carry signal.
- Audio is doubled: determine whether the console return already contains ProPresenter playback; adjust capture routing to avoid capturing the same playback twice.
- The destination does not receive the stream: recheck the provider’s current RTMP server address and stream key, or the Resi account/integration configuration. Keep credentials private.
- A menu or device option differs from the guide: consult documentation for the installed release. The user guide reviewed identifies itself as current through ProPresenter 7.12, and some support articles describe feature history from earlier releases.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded video live on YouTube around the clock rather than operate a live ProPresenter production, StreamNeo is a different workflow: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on. It streams to YouTube only; it is not a replacement for a camera-based live production.
