To stream Malayalam prerecorded videos continuously on YouTube, send them as a looping encoder feed to a YouTube Live stream. A regular YouTube playlist is on-demand; it does not become a live broadcast by itself. You can run the encoder on a computer you keep online or use a cloud service that loops uploaded videos. Set up the channel and rights first, then test the feed before relying on it around the clock.
Before you start: check channel eligibility and enable live streaming
- Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s current guidance also sets a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Enable live streaming in advance if this is your first time: activation may take up to 24 hours.
- Choose and prepare the Malayalam videos you have rights to broadcast. Decide what title, description, language details, and thumbnail you want on the live watch page; those are stream metadata, not a setting that makes a regular playlist live.
Choose how to keep the prerecorded videos playing
Local encoder computer
With this approach, software on a computer reads or plays the video files, repeats them as needed, and sends the resulting feed to YouTube. YouTube supports computer software encoders and standalone encoder hardware, but its general guide does not specify a computer model or minimum system requirement for this playlist use case. Your computer, encoder, and internet connection must remain available for as long as you want the broadcast to continue.
Cloud continuous-streaming service
YouTube’s encoder guide names Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos. That mention does not establish Gyre’s current price, file limits, or suitability for a particular channel; check its current terms directly before choosing it. See YouTube’s encoder streaming guide.
When evaluating any method, check whether it loops local files or hosted media, how it handles a dropped connection, whether and how it alerts you, how it handles your stream key, and what it costs over the intended run. The cited YouTube guidance does not compare providers on those points.

Create the YouTube Live stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream. Set its title, description, visibility, and other watch-page details, including the relevant language information for your Malayalam content.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from the stream settings. Enter them in your encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not post it, share it publicly, or put it in a public screenshot. If someone else obtains it, they may be able to send video to your stream; reset it in YouTube Studio if it is exposed.
- Prepare a continuous feed. Add the prerecorded videos in the order you want viewers to see them and configure the encoder or streaming service to repeat the sequence. Test that playback reaches the end of a file and continues to the next one without an unintended gap or stop.
- Start the encoder, then check the Live Control Room. Confirm that YouTube receives video and audio and review stream health messages before making the broadcast public. YouTube describes creating the stream in Live Control Room and providing the encoder with its URL and key. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
Use compatible video, audio, and connection settings
YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends RTMPS. Its listed supported video codecs include H.264, H.265, and AV1; audio codecs include AAC and MP3. Configure constant bitrate (CBR) encoding and a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says the interval should not exceed four seconds. Frame rates up to 60 fps are listed. Choose a resolution and bitrate that your encoder and upload connection can sustain continuously. The cited settings guidance does not establish one ideal bitrate for every resolution, codec, or connection, so consult YouTube’s current recommendations for your selected quality rather than assuming a single value works for all streams. Test with representative Malayalam video, including its loudest audio and most visually active scenes. Watch for dropped frames, buffering, audio/video mismatch, and stream-health warnings before leaving the feed unattended.

Plan for archives and uninterrupted operation
Decide whether you need a replay
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. A single broadcast lasting 24 hours exceeds that stated archive window, so do not count on one complete automatic replay of a 24/7 session. If full replays matter, consider planned sessions shorter than 12 hours and verify the actual archive behavior in YouTube Studio. YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
Keep watch on the live feed
Monitor the encoder and Live Control Room during the initial test and after changes to files, network, or settings. A loop can appear configured while the feed has stopped, lost audio, or failed to advance between videos. For a local setup, plan for the computer and internet connection to stay available; for a service, verify its recovery and alerting behavior instead of assuming it will restart automatically.

Clear copyright and other rights before going live
You need the necessary rights for everything in the broadcast, including music, images, and video. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches; as its help page explains, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can cause YouTube to replace the live picture, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. Read YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
Having a licence does not always prevent an interruption: YouTube says licensed third-party content may still be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Confirm permission for each video and audio track, and ask the rights owner about allowlisting where applicable. YouTube’s Terms of Service also apply to the stream and its content.

Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: check that the channel is verified, meets YouTube’s age requirement, and has no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. If live streaming was only just enabled for the first time, activation may still be pending for up to 24 hours.
- YouTube receives no feed: check that the encoder is running and that you copied the stream URL and key for the intended stream. If the key may have been exposed, reset it in Studio and update the encoder with the replacement.
- The picture buffers or drops frames: review encoder stream health, confirm the upload connection can sustain the chosen output, and test a lower resolution or bitrate if it cannot. Keep the configured bitrate mode at CBR and use the recommended keyframe interval.
- The playlist stops or skips: check the loop or playlist order and test transitions through the end of each file. Confirm the files remain available to the encoder or cloud service.
- The live picture is replaced or the stream ends: inspect YouTube’s notices for a third-party content match. Review rights for the matched material and contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting if you have permission.
- You cannot find a full 24-hour replay: the automatic archive guidance covers streams under 12 hours. Check Studio’s archive status and plan shorter sessions if a complete replay is important.
