To stream a prerecorded yoga class playlist overnight, send the playlist from an encoder to a scheduled YouTube Live event. You can run the encoder on a computer you leave on, or use a cloud service that plays uploaded videos. Before broadcasting, make sure your channel can go live, confirm the rights to every video and audio track, connect the encoder with the stream URL and key from YouTube Live Control Room, and test the full playlist and watch page.
Choose how the playlist will reach YouTube Live
YouTube Live receives the broadcast from an encoder: software or hardware that sends your prerecorded videos as a live stream. For a local setup, the computer and encoder must keep running, with a dependable internet connection, for the entire overnight session. YouTube’s encoder documentation also names Gyre as a cloud-based option for continuous prerecorded-video streaming; check its current details with the provider before choosing it. YouTube’s encoder help
For either route, compare whether it can play your sequence continuously, what happens after a disconnect or restart, how you can check status remotely, how it handles scheduling and stream keys, whether the session will be archived, and current cost and availability. The YouTube documentation does not establish the service-specific answers for Gyre, so verify them directly.
Prepare the channel, playlist and rights
Check that the channel is eligible
Your channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. If this is your first time going live, activation can take up to 24 hours; enable live streaming well before the planned broadcast. YouTube: Get started with live streaming

Check every video and audio track
Make sure you have the necessary rights to stream all class footage, music, voice recordings and other included material. YouTube scans live video for third-party matches. A match can result in a placeholder, interruption or termination. If a rights holder licensed content for your stream, YouTube says to ask them to allowlist your channel through Content ID. YouTube: Copyright issues with live streams
Assemble and inspect the playlist
Confirm that the files play in the intended order and that the combined duration covers the planned session. Listen to the audio and check the picture, transitions and any gaps between classes. A playlist that ends before morning will not continue unless the encoder or service is configured to repeat it; test the actual sequence and repeat behavior in the tool you choose.

Schedule the YouTube Live event and connect the encoder
- Schedule the event: In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and use the Manage tab to create or schedule the stream. You can reuse or create stream settings. Scheduling creates a watch page where viewers can set a reminder. YouTube: Schedule a live stream
- Copy the connection details: In Live Control Room, get the stream URL and stream key for the event or selected stream settings. Enter them in your encoder as directed by that encoder. Treat the key like a password; reset it if it is exposed. YouTube encoder setup
- Use RTMPS if supported: YouTube recommends RTMPS when the encoder supports it. Choose the matching server URL and connection settings shown in Live Control Room rather than substituting details from another event. YouTube: Encoder settings and bitrates
- Set start and stop behavior deliberately: Some encoders can control when the YouTube stream starts and stops. If you enable automatic start or stop, confirm exactly how your encoder handles it and test before the overnight event. YouTube encoder setup
Test the complete overnight run
Do not rely on a short connection check alone. Run through the complete playlist or a representative test of its transitions, audio and repeat behavior, and verify the encoder preview before the scheduled broadcast. YouTube recommends setting up the encoder well in advance, previewing the stream, and checking the event on your channel, its watch page and a mobile device. YouTube streaming tips YouTube live-stream troubleshooting
- Confirm the correct event and stream key are selected.
- Check that the video and audio are present and remain in sync through transitions.
- Open the public watch page and verify that it is accessible as intended.
- Check available upload capacity against the encoder’s total streaming bitrate, leaving about 20% headroom as YouTube recommends.
- Keep monitoring stream health during the broadcast if you are using a local encoder. YouTube warns that a connectivity disruption can break the stream.
A wired Ethernet connection is an optional way to connect a local encoder computer, not a YouTube requirement or guarantee of reliability. Whatever connection you use, YouTube recommends a reliable network and enough upload capacity. YouTube streaming tips

Account for the archive limit and overnight failures
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If the planned run could exceed 12 hours, do not rely on that automatic archive behavior. YouTube live encoder help
A local computer, encoder, power supply or internet connection can fail while unattended. YouTube recommends monitoring stream quality; its guidance does not establish that every encoder or cloud service will recover automatically after every failure. Check the provider’s recovery behavior and test it rather than assuming the broadcast will resume on its own.

Troubleshoot common overnight problems
- The stream will not start: Check that live streaming is enabled and the channel is eligible, then confirm that the encoder has the correct stream URL and key for the scheduled event. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube shows no incoming video: Confirm the encoder is running and sending to the event’s current URL and key; inspect the encoder preview and Live Control Room before the scheduled start.
- The broadcast drops or becomes unstable: Check the network connection and whether total streaming bitrate fits the available upload bandwidth. YouTube recommends roughly 20% headroom; monitor stream health and use RTMPS if supported.
- The stream is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder: Review the video and audio rights, including music. YouTube scans for third-party matches; contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting if the material is licensed for this stream.
- The stream ends before the intended finish: Check whether the playlist reached its end, whether repeat behavior is enabled, and whether the encoder or connection stopped. Test the full sequence and any automatic start/stop settings ahead of time.
- The recording is missing from the channel: Check the session length. YouTube’s automatic archive statement applies to streams under 12 hours, not runs that reach or exceed that threshold.
