You can run a 24/7 relaxation stream from a Windows laptop by creating a stream in YouTube Studio, sending it through encoder software, and keeping the laptop, power, and internet connection available continuously. First enable live streaming on your channel; YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. For a continuous broadcast, plan for interruptions and do not count on YouTube saving a complete replay of a stream that runs longer than 12 hours.
Check that your channel can go live
- Your channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. YouTube’s getting-started guidance also requires streamers to be at least 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Enable live streaming in YouTube Studio and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. You may not be able to start immediately after requesting access. See YouTube’s setup instructions and encoder streaming guidance.
The platform requirements here are YouTube’s general rules, not India-specific legal or tax advice. Confirm any local requirements that apply to your content or setup.
Prepare the relaxation video and audio
Use visuals and audio you created yourself or have permission to stream. Keep copies of licenses and written permissions. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; it may interrupt or terminate a broadcast when it detects content you are not authorized to use. Even licensed material can be interrupted if the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist does not include your channel. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyrighted content in live streams and its Terms of Service.
For a 24-hour broadcast, prepare a file or playlist that can play continuously in your Windows encoder. Test the complete media path before going public: confirm that the video and sound play as intended, the loop point is acceptable, and the encoder continues sending when playback reaches the end of a file.

Create the YouTube stream and protect its key
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live to reach the Live Control Room. If prompted, set up live streaming first.
- Create or select a stream, then copy the server URL and stream key shown in the Live Control Room.
- In your Windows encoder, choose its YouTube or custom RTMP/RTMPS destination and enter the server URL and key. YouTube recommends RTMPS. Its encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 support for RTMP/RTMPS; choose a codec your encoder and playback workflow support.
- Keep the stream key private, as you would a password. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before making the broadcast public. Use a test stream to catch problems with the picture, sound, or connection.
Exact encoder controls depend on the software you choose. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance provides the platform-side workflow and supported settings.
Choose a bitrate and connection your laptop can sustain
Test your internet connection’s upload speed, not just its download speed. YouTube recommends leaving roughly 20% upload-bandwidth headroom: choose a video bitrate that uses no more than about 80% of the upload capacity you can reliably sustain. That margin helps, but it cannot prevent outages or unstable connections. YouTube warns that connection disruptions can interrupt a stream.

Use YouTube’s published bitrate ranges for the resolution, frame rate, and codec you select rather than treating one setting as right for every laptop or connection. In the encoder, use constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval, both recommended by YouTube. Check the stream-health indicator in Live Control Room during the test and broadcast. If health is poor, reduce the bitrate or resolution to a supported combination that fits your measured upload capacity. If practical, connect the laptop to the router by Ethernet to avoid relying on Wi-Fi. A wired connection is an optional way to reduce one source of variability, not a YouTube requirement or a guarantee of uninterrupted streaming.

Keep a laptop-based stream running
A laptop encoder depends on the laptop, its power, and its internet connection staying available. Before relying on a long broadcast, test the full setup and decide what you will do if playback, the encoder, power, or networking stops. YouTube recommends a local archive backup; a separate recording also gives you a copy if the live replay is incomplete. The cited YouTube guidance does not establish a particular Windows power setting or an India-specific backup-power requirement.
- Monitor the encoder and YouTube stream health, especially after starting or changing a setting.
- Have a recovery plan for an interrupted feed: check the laptop, connection, encoder, and stream key, then reconnect and confirm the preview.
- Keep a local recording if preserving the full program matters; YouTube’s archive limits make a platform replay an unreliable sole copy for a 24-hour stream.
Know what YouTube does with a 24-hour replay
Do not assume a continuous 24-hour broadcast will be saved as a complete video-on-demand replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. Set expectations about monetization
Going live does not guarantee that a relaxation loop will qualify for monetization. YouTube’s monetization policy expects original, authentic content and says repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible. A static or minimally varied relaxation stream is not guaranteed to pass review. Check the current YouTube channel monetization policies before building a business plan around ad revenue.
