Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteYouTube’s published limit is 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key; both limits apply at the same time. YouTube does not state a combined active-stream maximum for all channels linked to one Google account, so you cannot treat the per-channel cap as a guaranteed account-wide allowance.
How many YouTube live streams can run at once?
YouTube Help states that a channel can broadcast up to 10 active streams, while a stream key can be used for up to 3 active streams. The caps apply simultaneously: reaching either one can prevent another stream from starting under that channel and key arrangement. These are YouTube policy limits, not a promise that every channel will be able to start that many broadcasts in every circumstance. YouTube Help’s limits were checked on October 3, 2026; the Help pages do not show a publication date, and policies can change.
Does one Google account have a combined limit across its channels?
YouTube’s published guidance describes its active-stream caps per channel and per stream key. It does not specify an aggregate maximum across multiple channels associated with one Google account. That means the documented cap for one channel should not be multiplied by the number of channels to claim a confirmed account-wide total.
If you manage multiple channels, assess the stated limits for the individual channel and stream key you intend to use. The cited Help guidance does not establish how those per-channel limits aggregate at the Google-account level, nor does it rule out other safeguards that are not described there.

Active streams and daily stream creation are different limits
The active-stream cap is about broadcasts running concurrently. YouTube also limits how many live streams a channel can create in a 24-hour period. Its error guidance says to try again after 24 hours if that creation limit has been reached, but the retrieved guidance does not state a fixed number of streams allowed in the window.
So a channel can encounter a daily-creation error even when fewer than 10 streams are active. Conversely, reaching the active-stream cap is not the same as reaching the daily creation limit.

Can you use another channel if live streaming is restricted?
No. YouTube says an account with an active live-streaming restriction cannot use another channel to stream around it. Trying to evade the restriction may be treated as circumvention and could result in termination. Wait for the restriction to end or follow YouTube’s available review or appeal process rather than rotating channels.
Why might a stream fail to start?
If YouTube will not start a broadcast, check the applicable limits and channel eligibility before changing your encoder settings.

- Another stream is already using the channel’s allowance: check how many broadcasts are active on that channel. YouTube’s stated cap is 10 active streams per channel.
- The stream key is at its limit: check which broadcasts use the key. YouTube’s stated cap is 3 active streams per key.
- The channel has reached its daily creation limit: this is separate from simultaneous active streams. YouTube’s error guidance says to try again after 24 hours; it does not publish a numeric daily allowance in the retrieved text.
- Live streaming is not enabled or the channel is ineligible: YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its general guidance also sets a minimum age of 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- The account has an active live-streaming restriction: using another channel to bypass it is not permitted.
YouTube Help’s eligibility and setup guidance was checked October 3, 2026. For current status and exact steps, use YouTube’s official Get started with live streaming and Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder pages.
Does a cloud relay or multistream tool raise YouTube’s limit?
No published guidance says that a relay or encoder increases YouTube’s per-channel or per-key allowance. YouTube distinguishes between sending a feed to multiple destinations and creating multiple YouTube live streams. A local encoder handles multiple outputs on the creator’s device; a cloud relay receives a feed and distributes it to selected channels, resolutions, or platforms. That can change how distribution is handled, but it does not establish an exemption from YouTube’s stated limits.
