To run a 24/7 UPSC lectures stream on YouTube, prepare an original or properly cleared Hindi lesson playlist, enable live streaming, connect an encoder to a YouTube stream using its URL and key, and test the broadcast before making it public. For a continuous prerecorded loop without a computer running at home, a cloud service such as StreamNeo can keep uploaded videos streaming; for complete replays, use shorter broadcasts because YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours.
Choose what “24/7” means for your channel
A continuous stream can be a loop of prerecorded classes, live lessons scheduled throughout the day, or a mixture of both. For UPSC preparation, organize the broadcast as a useful timetable rather than an undifferentiated loop: put subject and lesson titles in a clear order, state the schedule in the stream description, and make it easy for learners to tell what is playing.
- Prerecorded rotation: useful for a consistent timetable and repeat viewing. You need the rights to broadcast each recording, and the stream will not be a live instructor interaction.
- Live classes: allow real-time teaching and interaction, but require an instructor and production setup at the scheduled times.
- Mixed schedule: can combine scheduled live classes with recordings between them. Label live and prerecorded segments accurately.
YouTube’s encoder workflow supports produced streams; it does not require one particular format. Choose the approach that matches your teaching schedule and replay needs.
Check channel eligibility and enable live streaming
YouTube’s current live-streaming guidance says a channel must be verified and must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Streamers must be at least 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable the feature well before the first class. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

- Verify the channel and check that it has no active live-streaming restriction.
- Enable live streaming and allow time for first-time activation to complete.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key into your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, and replace it if it is exposed.
YouTube describes these connection details and encoder setup in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. Exact Studio labels can change, so follow the current interface shown for your channel.
Prepare Hindi UPSC lessons and clear the rights
Prefer lessons, narration, slides, and diagrams that your channel created or has permission to use. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a detected match can interrupt or terminate a broadcast. Even if a rights holder has licensed content to you, the stream may still be interrupted if the holder has not allowlisted your channel in Content ID. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

Keep a rights record for every non-original item: identify its owner and retain the permission or license that covers both live use and any archive. This applies to paper excerpts, charts, photographs, music, video clips, and another teacher’s recording. YouTube’s livestream terms also require streamers to have the necessary rights and comply with applicable law.
UPSC papers and other exam material
UPSC’s website makes previous question papers available, but public availability is not blanket permission to rebroadcast them in full. UPSC’s policy says its material may be reproduced after proper permission; its general permission does not cover content identified as third-party copyright. Check the applicable terms and obtain authorization where required before incorporating material into a stream. See UPSC’s Previous Question Papers and UPSC’s copyright policy.

Connect an encoder and choose stable settings
An encoder sends the composed lesson video and audio to YouTube. In the Live Control Room, create or schedule the broadcast, then enter the stream URL and key in the encoder. Before going public, confirm the right stream is selected and the key has not been shared.
Pick an output your upload connection can sustain reliably. YouTube’s current settings table lists supported ingest codecs including H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1. As H.264 examples, YouTube recommends 5 Mbps for 720p at 30 fps and 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps. These are platform recommendations, not measurements of what your particular channel or internet connection can sustain. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrate, and resolution guidance.
Rank #4
| Example output | YouTube H.264 recommended bitrate | Practical decision |
|---|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 5 Mbps | Choose this if it gives your connection more stability than a higher resolution. |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps | Use it only if the upload connection can sustain it consistently. |
These examples do not replace YouTube’s full current settings table. Check its codec-specific recommendations for your chosen resolution and frame rate. Leave headroom for connection variation rather than setting the stream at the limit of a speed test.
- Run an upload-speed test from the location and connection that will carry the broadcast.
- Set the encoder to a resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate that fit the available upload capacity.
- Send a private or unlisted test stream using representative lecture audio, slides, and any video motion.
- Check the YouTube stream preview, audio intelligibility, picture, and stream-health messages before the public start.
YouTube’s own instruction is direct: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” Monitor stream health while the broadcast is running; do not assume that a successful setup test guarantees an uninterrupted 24-hour session.

Plan replays, DVR, and continuity
YouTube’s encoder help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A 24-hour broadcast exceeds that stated condition, so do not promise viewers that one continuous day-long stream will produce one complete replay. If full lesson replays matter, schedule separate broadcasts shorter than 12 hours and check the current archive status in Live Control Room. The guidance is an automatic-archive condition, not a guarantee that every longer stream will be archived in full.
Enable DVR in the stream settings if viewers should be able to pause or rewind while the stream is live; the available controls are described in Manage live stream settings. For a long-running operation, arrange supervision at the start and have someone able to respond to stream-health warnings. Where feasible, plan a backup internet path or encoder and test failover rather than assuming it will work when needed. YouTube’s encoder tips recommend testing encoder failover and monitoring audio and video.
Choose equipment for the lesson format
YouTube lists a webcam and external microphone among typical encoder-streaming equipment, not as requirements. If the instructor appears on camera, a webcam may be useful; for slides or prerecorded lessons, it may not add value. Prioritize intelligible speech: learners need to hear the explanation clearly. You can begin without expensive equipment, then improve the setup based on what the format actually needs.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a prerecorded Hindi lecture loop, StreamNeo is a cloud option that keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without a home computer or connection left on.

Quick Recap
Troubleshoot common failures
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Live streaming is unavailable | The channel is not verified, has a recent live restriction, or initial activation is incomplete. | Check channel eligibility and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. |
| Encoder cannot connect | The stream URL or key is wrong, or the encoder is sending to a different broadcast. | Copy the current URL and key from the intended Live Control Room stream; keep the key private. |
| Buffering or poor stream health | The selected bitrate or resolution exceeds what the upload connection can sustain consistently. | Retest upload capacity, lower output quality or bitrate, and test before returning to public. |
| Live content is interrupted | YouTube detected third-party content, or a rights holder has not allowlisted the channel. | Use cleared material, resolve rights with the owner, and confirm any necessary Content ID allowlisting. |
| A complete replay is missing | The broadcast ran 12 hours or longer, outside YouTube’s stated automatic archive condition. | Use shorter sessions when complete archives matter and verify the archive in Live Control Room. |
