Scheduling creates an upcoming event and can help devotees find it and request a reminder; it does not start or sustain an endless feed by itself. To keep an aarti channel running continuously, you also need a video source and an encoder or cloud service that continues transmitting, plus a plan for interruptions.
Before scheduling: make sure the channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
Schedule the upcoming aarti event
- In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go live.
- Open the Manage tab and choose the option to schedule a stream.
- Set the event title, description, visibility, and other available settings. Choose details that clearly tell viewers what the feed is and when it is expected to begin.
- Save the event. It can appear as an upcoming stream, and viewers may be able to request a reminder.
Menu wording and layout may change. YouTube’s encoder setup guide covers scheduling and connecting an encoder.
Connect an encoder and start the event
- Choose a software or hardware encoder supported by YouTube. A dedicated hardware encoder is optional; YouTube supports software encoders too. Its encoder guidance describes the available categories.
- Open the scheduled event’s stream settings in YouTube Studio. Copy its stream URL and stream key into the matching fields in your encoder.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not publish it, send it in public chats, or leave it exposed in screenshots.
- Start the encoder early enough to check the incoming preview in YouTube’s Live Control Room. Confirm that the intended video and audio are present and that the right event is selected.
- When the preview is ready, select Go live in Live Control Room if required. YouTube recommends testing the setup, checking that a local recording is being created, and confirming viewers can access the stream. See its live-streaming tips.
For a scheduled event, the encoder supplies the actual feed. Scheduling it does not make YouTube play a recording or automatically start the encoder at the scheduled time.

What a nonstop stream needs beyond scheduling
A 24/7 aarti feed requires a continuing source and a transmission path that stay active: for example, a computer running an encoder with reliable power and internet, a dedicated encoder, or a cloud playout service. Google’s Live Streaming API documentation recognizes a 24/7 feed as a use case; that is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service or automatic restart after an outage.
Decide who will notice a frozen or ended feed, how they will restart it, and what happens if the local power or internet connection fails. For a volunteer-run channel, write down who has access to the encoder and stream key and who is responsible for checking the stream. A scheduled event is useful for announcing a start, but ongoing operation and recovery are separate responsibilities.

Protect the aarti recording and stream
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the material remains, it may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. Even when a recording is licensed, the rights holder may need to add the channel to a Content ID allowlist. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
YouTube’s livestream terms put rights responsibility on the person providing the content: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.”

For an aarti feed, check the rights for the specific recording, performance, backing track, images, and any venue or broadcast permissions that apply. Religious subject matter alone does not establish permission to stream a particular recording. The rights position depends on the source material, rights holders, and territories in which it will be available.

YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If the replay matters, keep an independent local recording and consider ending the stream and scheduling shorter sessions. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

DVR lets viewers pause and rewind a live stream, but YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. A continuous feed therefore may not let someone who joins late rewind to the beginning. The DVR help page explains the limitation.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The scheduled event is visible, but no video appears: Scheduling only creates the event. Start the encoder with that event’s stream URL and key, then check the Live Control Room preview.
- The preview is missing or belongs to another event: Recheck that the encoder has the URL and key for the intended scheduled event, and that it is actively sending a signal.
- The feed stops after a power or network interruption: Restore the source and connection, restart the encoder or service, and verify the preview before resuming. A scheduled event alone does not provide failover.
- The stream is interrupted after a copyright match: Identify the matched material and confirm the necessary rights. If it is licensed, ask the rights holder about adding the channel to the Content ID allowlist.
- A long stream has no complete replay or rewind: This can happen beyond YouTube’s stated 12-hour archive and DVR caveats. Use an independent recording and plan shorter sessions when a replay is important.
