For several recordings, use an OBS VLC Video source as a looping playlist. Plan separately for rights, monetization and archiving: YouTube may not capture a stream longer than 12 hours as a replay.
Before you start: check the channel and the recording
Confirm livestream access
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. The person streaming must be at least 16. Check the channel’s access in YouTube Studio before preparing the broadcast: YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Confirm permission for everything in the recording
Make sure the ministry has the necessary rights for the entire recording, not only the spoken prayer. That can include hymns or other music, lyrics, performers, images, and embedded third-party video. Permission should cover YouTube live transmission and repeated playback, as well as archiving and the relevant territory where applicable. YouTube’s terms place responsibility for necessary worldwide rights and compliance with laws and regulations in the live-stream territory on the provider: Livestream terms and conditions.
If a rights owner has licensed material for use, ask whether the channel must also be allowlisted in Content ID. YouTube says its live system scans streams for third-party content; a match can replace the picture with a placeholder or interrupt or terminate the stream. A license by itself may not prevent that interruption: Copyright issues with live streams.

Loop one recording or rotate a playlist in OBS
Loop a single meeting recording

Install and open OBS Studio. Create a scene for the broadcast, or select the scene you intend to use.

In the Sources panel, select + and add a Media Source. Give it a clear name, then select the local video file.

Enable Loop in the Media Source properties. The recording will restart when playback reaches the end.

Check the OBS preview. Confirm the video is framed correctly and that its audio is audible and not clipped. Play through a representative section rather than relying only on the opening seconds.

Loop several recordings in order
For a sequence of recordings, install VLC and use OBS’s VLC Video source. Add the files in the order you want them to play, then enable Loop Playlist. The VLC source requires VLC to be installed. OBS documents both Media Source looping and VLC playlist looping in its Media Sources guidance.

A single file is simpler to set up; a playlist lets a ministry rotate several meetings instead of repeating one recording each time. Check the playlist order and audio before connecting it to YouTube.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live and start the broadcast

In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and choose the encoder workflow. YouTube provides a stream URL and a stream key in Live Control Room; follow its current encoder setup steps.

In OBS, open Settings > Stream. Choose YouTube as the service and enter the stream key. If configuring a custom service, enter the stream URL and key supplied by YouTube. Treat the key like a password: do not show it on screen or share it, and reset it if it is exposed.

Start streaming in OBS. Return to YouTube Live Control Room and wait for the incoming feed. Check the preview, audio and stream health before choosing to go live or making the scheduled event public.

Monitor the broadcast after it starts. YouTube recommends testing the setup and checking stream quality; it also recommends RTMPS. Use the settings and current guidance in YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions page rather than copying a universal bitrate: suitable settings depend on resolution, frame rate and the upload connection.

When you intend to end the event, stop the stream deliberately in the encoder and confirm the event has ended in Live Control Room. YouTube’s live-streaming tips include checking preview, accessibility and audio/video quality.
What a 24/7 stream means for replays and DVR
A continuous live endpoint is not the same as a guaranteed single replay file. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep a local recording and test the archive workflow if retaining the meeting matters: Archive live streams.

If YouTube replay availability matters, consider publishing shorter sessions and retaining a local copy. The available guidance does not establish a seamless, supported daily auto-restart method, so test any session-break and archive process you choose rather than assuming a single 24-hour stream will produce a complete recording.
Copyright, India-specific requirements and monetization
Keep permission records and respond to matches
Retain written permissions for material the ministry does not wholly own, with the intended live use, repeated playback and archiving clearly covered. If YouTube detects a match, follow the notice in Live Control Room; having a license does not necessarily stop the automated interruption unless the rights holder has handled any required allowlisting.
The platform terms assign compliance responsibility to the provider, but the cited platform guidance does not establish which Indian broadcast or other regulatory approvals apply to a particular church or ministry’s YouTube stream. Requirements can depend on the organization, content and distribution. Check the requirements relevant to your circumstances rather than assuming a blanket exemption or a universal approval rule.

Do not build a revenue plan on repetition alone
Eligible YouTube Partner Program channels may have live ads, Super Chat, Super Stickers and memberships available, but eligibility, ad delivery and earnings are conditional. YouTube says ad delivery depends on its systems and other factors: Monetize your live stream.
There is a separate originality issue for a repeated recording. In a policy update dated July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content is ineligible for monetization. That does not establish that every prayer stream is automatically disqualified or automatically eligible; monetization review applies to the channel and its content. Make original, distinctive ministry material central to the channel and check the current YouTube channel monetization policies before relying on income from a repeated broadcast.

The Media Source stops at the end. Open its properties and turn on Loop. For several files, verify that the source is VLC Video, VLC is installed, and Loop Playlist is enabled.

YouTube does not receive a signal. Confirm OBS is using the stream key and URL for the correct event, then start streaming in OBS. Check Live Control Room for an incoming preview. If the key was exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.

The preview arrives but the stream is unstable. Check upload stability and use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for the selected resolution and frame rate. Lowering output demands may help when the connection cannot sustain them; test before the public broadcast instead of assuming one bitrate works for every setup.

Viewers cannot hear the meeting clearly. Check the Media Source audio in OBS, the active audio meters and the Live Control Room preview. Listen to the stream from a separate device if possible, and check that the source recording itself has usable audio.

The live video is replaced or interrupted. Check Live Control Room for a copyright notice. Identify the matched content, confirm that permission covers the intended use, and contact the rights holder about any required Content ID allowlisting.

The long broadcast has no complete replay. A stream over 12 hours may not be captured, and DVR may not provide dependable access to its full history. Preserve a local recording and use a tested archive process for material that must be retained.
