To keep a home-computer bhajan stream running through a power cut, back up the complete streaming chain: the computer, modem or optical network terminal (ONT), router, and any essential audio equipment. Size the backup for their combined real operating load and the outage duration you want to cover, then test the setup end to end. A UPS or inverter can keep your equipment powered, but it cannot guarantee that your internet provider will stay connected.
First decide: live performance or prerecorded bhajans?
Live performance or camera feed
A live performance needs the computer or encoder, camera, audio interface or mixer, and every other essential device to stay powered. The performer and any equipment not on backup power are part of the practical continuity plan too. Cloud playout of uploaded videos is not a substitute for a live camera or performance feed.
Prerecorded playlist
You can run a prerecorded playlist through a home-computer encoder, or consider a cloud service designed to play uploaded videos as a continuous YouTube live stream. YouTube lists cloud-based tools as a category for continuous prerecorded-video streams; that does not establish any particular vendor’s current terms or reliability.
What must stay powered?
Make an inventory of every device whose loss would stop or degrade the stream. The usual starting list is:

- The computer running the streaming encoder.
- The modem or ONT that connects the home to the ISP.
- The router, if it is separate from the modem or ONT.
- For a live performance, essential audio and video equipment such as a camera, mixer, or audio interface.
Keeping the computer on is not enough if the router or ONT loses power. Likewise, powering the network equipment alone will not keep a computer-based encoder running.
Choose backup power from your actual load and target runtime
There is no responsible one-size-fits-all UPS capacity or runtime: both depend on the equipment and the backup system. First find the real operating draw of the devices you need to run together, then decide how long you want them to last during an outage. Compare options against that combined load and target, rather than assuming a product’s headline capacity tells you how long the whole setup will work.

These are equipment categories, not model recommendations or promised runtimes. For a real comparison, use your measured load and desired outage duration, and consider local battery servicing and the equipment’s compatibility with the backup output.
Check internet continuity separately
Power backup and internet availability are separate dependencies. Ask your ISP whether the broadband connection actually remains available during a local power cut; a powered router cannot preserve a connection that the provider has lost. If you consider mobile data or a second ISP as fallback, check coverage inside your home, whether it depends on the same vulnerable infrastructure, its data limits, upload capacity, and how its modem or hotspot will stay powered.

YouTube recommends planning for 20% upload-bandwidth headroom and advises testing the upload connection. That is a planning recommendation, not a guarantee that a connection will remain stable.
Set up YouTube Live and test the encoder
- Enable live streaming. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Use YouTube’s current Live Control Room guidance to start a stream using encoder software.
- Choose encoder settings for the connection you have tested. Consult YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance for its recommended protocol, codecs, resolutions, frame rates, and bitrates. Select a quality your measured upload connection can sustain with headroom; there is no universal bitrate that suits every setup.
- Configure the stream key securely. Use the stream key and connection details shown for your broadcast in YouTube Live Control Room. Treat the key as a credential: do not share it publicly, and use YouTube’s controls to manage it if it is exposed.
- Test the player before relying on the stream. Start a test broadcast, check the status in Live Control Room, and watch the actual YouTube player to confirm picture, audio, and stability.
- Rehearse a power cut. With the backup system in place, verify that changeover does not shut down the computer or network devices, that the internet route remains available, that the encoder continues or reconnects, and that the viewer-facing player returns to a working picture and sound.
YouTube says connectivity disruption can break a stream. Test with the equipment and internet route you will actually use; a successful ordinary power-on test alone does not establish how your ISP will behave during an outage.

Clear rights for every bhajan recording
Religious or devotional content is not automatically free to rebroadcast. YouTube’s livestream terms say the streamer represents and warrants that they have all rights needed to exploit the live content worldwide, including music rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. Confirm the rights for each sound recording and composition you plan to use. See YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.

Do not rely on a single uninterrupted day-long YouTube live broadcast to create a complete archive. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If keeping a full recording matters, arrange a separate local archive or recording workflow.

India-specific context
India’s Ministry of Power said on 23 March 2026 that Rule 10 provides for 24×7 electricity supply by distribution licensees, subject to a Commission’s ability to specify lower hours for some categories; state governments and utilities have responsibility for supply and distribution. This policy context is not a guarantee against an outage at a particular home, so plan around the power and ISP conditions where you live. Ministry of Power release via PIB, 23 March 2026.
