To run a Vishnu mantra stream continuously on YouTube, enable live streaming for your channel, create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, and send it from streaming software on a computer or a compatible hardware encoder. Use audio and visuals you have permission to stream, plan for power and internet interruptions, and keep a local recording if you need a reliable archive. YouTube does not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, and streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived.

Before you start: channel access and rights

  • Your channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours, so enable it and test ahead of your planned start. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
  • Use original mantra audio and visuals, or material licensed for live streaming and, if relevant, archiving on YouTube. A mantra’s religious or traditional status does not establish rights to a particular recording, performance, arrangement, image, or background track. You are responsible for confirming permissions and following YouTube policies.
  • Decide whether you need a complete recording of the broadcast. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive as a backup; its archive guidance warns, “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” Read YouTube’s archive guidance.

Choose how to send the stream

Method Best suited to Plan for
Computer with streaming software A creator who already has a suitable computer and wants a flexible setup. Software configuration, power, cooling, operating-system updates, monitoring, and restart behavior.
Dedicated hardware encoder A creator who wants a purpose-built device for continuous encoding. YouTube compatibility, automation and remote-monitoring features, reliability needs, and equipment cost.

YouTube supports both software encoders and standalone hardware encoders; it does not require a dedicated device or endorse a particular model. Check its encoder setup guide for the current connection workflow and supported options.

Set up the YouTube broadcast

  1. Open YouTube Studio and create an encoder stream. Go to YouTube Studio, select Create > Go live, then choose the encoder workflow. Create a new stream or select an existing one, and set its title, description, audience setting, and other details before launch.
  2. Copy the stream destination and key. In the live control room, find the stream URL/server URL and stream key. Enter them in the matching fields in your encoder. You may reuse a custom stream key where appropriate, but treat the key like a password: do not include it in a public description, screenshot, or message. YouTube explains the process in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
  3. Prepare a continuous audio-visual feed. Configure the encoder to send the video or still-image presentation and mantra audio you have rights to use. Verify that the audio is audible and not distorted, and that the picture is correctly framed. YouTube’s encoder documentation includes a continuous-stream option; that option does not guarantee that your own encoder, power, or connection will remain available.
  4. Start sending the feed and verify it. Start streaming in the encoder and confirm the incoming feed appears in YouTube’s live control room. Use the preview and stream health indicators there to check the connection before making the broadcast public or announcing it.
  5. Monitor and recover deliberately. Decide who will notice an interruption and how the encoder will be restarted. A software encoder depends on the computer staying powered, running, and connected; a hardware encoder still depends on its own power and network connection. YouTube documents how to connect an encoder, not a guaranteed uptime or universal restart configuration.

Plan for replay and DVR limits

A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured as a YouTube archive, so save a local recording if the full program matters. DVR lets viewers pause and rewind during a live broadcast, but YouTube says DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. See YouTube’s DVR guidance. A continuous live feed and a dependable complete replay are separate needs; plan for each.

Or let it run in the cloud

If you want the recorded Vishnu mantra program to loop without leaving a computer running at home, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running with your computer off; it supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a live camera. Review the rights to every recording and visual you upload. Start your free day on StreamNeo.

Common problems and fixes

  • You cannot start a live broadcast: Check channel verification and whether a live-stream restriction applies. If live streaming was only just enabled, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
  • YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Confirm that the encoder uses the stream URL and key for the stream selected in YouTube Studio. If the key was exposed, replace it and update the encoder.
  • The stream stops unexpectedly: Check the computer or encoder’s power, internet connection, and whether software or operating-system updates interrupted it. Restart the feed and verify the return in the live control room; do not assume continuous-stream settings prevent all outages.
  • The archive is missing or incomplete: A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Keep a local recording when a complete archive is important.
  • Viewers cannot rewind as expected: DVR controls may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours.
  • A rights claim or restriction appears: Identify the specific audio or visual element involved and confirm that your permission covers YouTube live streaming and any archive. Replace or remove material you cannot use; being a devotional work does not itself clear a recording.
