The lowest-cost way to keep prerecorded video live on YouTube around the clock is free OBS software on a computer you maintain; the lowest-burden alternative is a cloud looping service. For a cloud option, StreamNeo is #1: it runs continuously without a home computer, accepts uploaded video up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. Other advertised entry plans include Beamd and YTStream, each listed at $19 a month when checked in 2026, but their included capacity and trial terms differ.
What “low-cost” means for a 24/7 YouTube stream
There are two different ways to reduce the bill: avoid a streaming-service subscription by running the broadcast yourself, or pay a cloud service to handle the computer and connection. The first shifts work and operating costs to you; the second buys convenience and usually charges per stream or slot.
Compare the number of simultaneous streams, output quality, storage, looping and scheduling, trial limits, recovery behavior, and whether your own computer and internet connection must remain on. No independent reliability or uptime comparison is available here, and vendor prices and features can change; check each linked plan page before subscribing.
Options, from the lowest operating cost to managed cloud
| Option | Displayed cost and offer | What it suits | Important checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | First day free, no card; monthly plan $9.99 per month. | Creators who want uploaded video to loop from the cloud without leaving a PC on. | One stream per slot; 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots. YouTube only. |
| OBS on your own computer | OBS is free, open-source software. Hardware, electricity, internet and maintenance are separate costs. | Technically comfortable creators with a computer they can leave running and a stable connection. | Computer capacity, power use, connection reliability, loop configuration and recovery. |
| Beamd Starter | $19/month, as displayed when accessed in 2026; one simultaneous stream, 1080p/60fps, playlists and looping. Its 72-hour trial included one stream, one destination, 20 GB storage, up to 15 files and a watermark. | One cloud stream where playlist looping and 1080p/60fps meet the need. | Trial restrictions and watermark; confirm current storage, destinations and plan terms. |
| YTStream 1080p | $19/month per 1080p stream, as displayed when accessed in 2026; $1 trial for 100 hours. | A per-stream cloud option advertising unlimited 24/7 streaming, looping playlists and auto-restart. | Storage, support, service terms and any plan limitations. |
| Gyre | A comparable current price was not established in the reviewed pages. | Creators comparing dedicated cloud workflows for prerecorded 24/7 streams. | Current price, capacity, storage and trial conditions. |
| Restream | Its pricing FAQ describes a free tier for two destinations from 30+ supported channels and an Upload & Stream feature for prerecorded content. | Creators who need multistreaming or scheduled prerecorded broadcasts. | The listed details do not establish unattended, indefinite looping as a 24/7 replacement. |
The Beamd and YTStream figures are vendor-advertised offers accessed in 2026, not independent price audits. Beamd’s comparison page said it was checked on 2026-09-21. The plans are not equivalent: compare stream count, resolution, storage and trial conditions against your own requirements.

2. OBS: no software subscription, but you operate the stream
YouTube describes an encoder as software or hardware that converts video into a digital format for streaming. Its official encoder catalog lists OBS as free, open-source streaming and recording software. With this route, you provide and maintain the computer, power, internet uplink and stream configuration. A free application does not make the whole setup cost-free: the official sources do not calculate hardware or electricity costs, and you must account for your own operating burden.
3. Beamd and YTStream: advertised cloud plans
Beamd displayed its Starter plan at $19/month for one stream at 1080p/60fps, with looping playlists. Its 72-hour trial had tighter limits than the paid offer: one stream and destination, 20 GB storage, up to 15 files, and a watermark.

YTStream displayed $19/month per 1080p stream and advertised unlimited 24/7 streaming, looping playlists and auto-restart. Its trial was listed as $1 for 100 hours. The reviewed page did not establish comparable storage details, so confirm those directly before choosing it.
4. Gyre and Restream: check workflow fit, not just the label
YouTube’s encoder catalog lists Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded streaming and Upstream as a cloud studio for 24/7 live video streaming. Listing establishes relevance, not YouTube endorsement, performance or price. Gyre is worth comparing if you want a dedicated cloud workflow, but the reviewed material does not establish that it is the cheapest comparable plan.

Restream’s pricing FAQ describes prerecorded Upload & Stream and free multistreaming to two channels. Those facts may suit scheduled broadcasts or distribution across destinations, but do not show that a broadcast can loop unattended indefinitely.

- One channel, no spare computer: compare cloud services by the total cost and limits for one continuous stream. Include StreamNeo in that comparison if you need cloud playback of uploaded video and want to avoid a home PC running continuously.
- You already have a suitable always-on computer: OBS can avoid a software subscription. Factor in electricity, internet reliability, maintenance and the consequences of a restart or outage; those costs depend on your setup.
- More than one simultaneous channel: check whether the plan price is per stream, how many streams are included, and whether storage is shared or per stream. Beamd’s cited Starter offer specifies one simultaneous stream; YTStream’s displayed price is per 1080p stream.
- High-resolution source files: compare supported output against the quality you actually uploaded, rather than assuming every service preserves it. StreamNeo’s stated offer is to stream uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps without re-encoding; Beamd’s cited Starter offer specifies 1080p/60fps and YTStream’s cited plan is 1080p.
- Trialing before committing: compare trial duration and restrictions, not just the headline. Beamd’s trial was 72 hours with a watermark and file/storage limits; YTStream advertised $1 for 100 hours; StreamNeo offers one free day per account without a card.
What to verify before going live
- Confirm the YouTube workflow. YouTube says encoders can be computer software or standalone hardware and maintains a catalog of tools. Review its current instructions for creating an encoder stream and managing the stream key: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Check the service’s current plan page. Confirm price, billing interval, number of concurrent streams, supported quality, storage, playlist behavior, trial restrictions and cancellation terms.
- Test the complete loop. Verify that the video or playlist returns to the start as intended, audio and picture remain synchronized, and the stream is still live after a transition or restart.
- Review rights and YouTube policies. Only stream material you have the rights to use. YouTube’s encoder listing does not guarantee monetization or policy compliance; separately assess copyright and whether your channel’s content meets YouTube’s rules for monetization and reused content.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded video streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot; the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, then the monthly option is $9.99 per month. It is for prerecorded uploads to YouTube, not camera-based live capture.
