To run a continuous Catholic rosary stream on YouTube, send a rights-cleared prerecorded video or playlist from an encoder to a YouTube live event, check the incoming preview, then start the broadcast in Live Control Room. First confirm your channel can livestream, clear every recording and visual for the uses you intend, and arrange a separate replay backup: YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
Before you start: channel, content and continuity
Check livestream eligibility
YouTube’s current Help guidance says your channel must be verified and must not have had a livestreaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Check this in YouTube Studio before you prepare the encoder. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Clear all material used in the stream
Confirm you have permission for each recording, musical composition and arrangement, translation, artwork, and other third-party material. Check that the permission covers live transmission and any replay or archive use you plan. A prayer’s religious subject matter or age does not by itself clear a particular recording, modern translation, musical setting, or artwork.
YouTube scans livestreams for third-party copyrighted content. A match can lead to a warning and replacement of the live feed with a placeholder; if the issue remains unresolved, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even a licence may not prevent an interruption if the rights holder has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights holder about allowlisting when applicable. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose how the stream will stay online
A local encoder depends on a computer, power, internet service, and a playback loop that continue working. A hosted playout service can move playback off your home computer, but you still need to consider monitoring, source-file access, stream-key security, and what happens after an interruption. No setup should be treated as guaranteed to run unattended without testing and a response plan.
Set up the YouTube live event and encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and create the event. Select Go Live, then create or schedule a live stream. Choose the encoder workflow. YouTube’s walkthrough is Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Copy the connection details. In Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key into the matching server and key fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not show it in a public screen capture or share it unnecessarily. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio.
- Use the correct ingestion endpoint. RTMPS is YouTube’s documented secure ingestion option; Google describes it as RTMP over an SSL connection and specifies port 443. Confirm that the endpoint you enter is the one YouTube provides for your event. See Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide and the YouTube LiveStreams documentation.
- Load and check the prerecorded material. Add the finished rosary video or playlist as the encoder’s source. Configure the intended repeat behavior and test the end of the file, transitions, audio levels, and what happens when the playlist finishes. Encoder-specific loop controls vary; do not assume a playlist will restart correctly without checking it.
- Start the encoder and wait for preview. Begin sending the feed, then wait until the video and audio appear in YouTube’s Live Control Room preview. Confirm that the correct event is receiving it.
- Start the broadcast in YouTube. Once the preview is correct, click Go live in Live Control Room. Sending an encoder feed and publishing the live event are separate actions.
Rehearse and plan for an unattended stream
Before making the stream public or relying on it continuously, run a private or unlisted rehearsal. Check the whole loop, including the transition from the final item back to the first, and test what happens if playback ends, the encoder restarts, or the network drops. Confirm that someone can respond if the stream stops.

- Keep the playback machine powered and prevent sleep or automatic shutdown if using a local encoder.
- Check that the internet connection can sustain the encoder’s selected bitrate; do not assume that a prerecorded file removes the need for a stable upload connection.
- Monitor the encoder and YouTube stream health during the rehearsal and operation. OBS notes that increasing dropped frames can indicate an unstable connection or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain. Its Help Portal provides connection troubleshooting.
- Test reconnection and restart behavior instead of assuming the encoder will recover automatically after a failure.
Preserve a replay independently
YouTube says it can automatically archive livestreams shorter than 12 hours, recommends keeping a local archive as a backup, and warns: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” A single continuous 24/7 broadcast therefore is not a dependable sole copy of the stream. YouTube also notes that DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable on very long streams; see Turn on DVR on live streams and Archive live streams.
If preserving the content matters, record a local archive or separately produce and publish replay files. Calculate storage from your actual recording settings and the retention period you need; YouTube does not specify a universal drive capacity. Check that your encoder can record locally while it streams and test the resulting file before relying on that backup.
