Yes. In India, Google Play explicitly supports UPI AutoPay for recurring subscriptions and gives monthly YouTube Premium as an example. The option depends on how your membership is billed, though: check the payment methods shown in your own YouTube membership flow before subscribing or assuming an existing plan can be switched.
What “YouTube streaming server subscription” probably means
YouTube’s support pages describe YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium memberships, not a separate product called a “YouTube streaming server subscription.” If you mean the monthly paid membership that removes ads and includes other Premium benefits, the relevant payment question is whether that YouTube Premium checkout supports UPI AutoPay.
When UPI AutoPay is available
Google Play India says UPI AutoPay can pay recurring subscriptions through a mandate and specifically gives monthly YouTube Premium as an example. YouTube says new Premium and Music Premium subscribers who signed up on Android have been billed through Google Play since 2022. These facts do not mean every account or signup route will offer Google Play billing or UPI AutoPay; the available choices are account- and checkout-specific. How to check and set it up
- Open YouTube Premium’s membership or payment flow. Review the billing route and payment methods offered for your account. On Android, Google Play may be the billing route for a new membership.
- Confirm that UPI AutoPay is explicitly offered. If the checkout does not show it, do not assume that another route or an existing membership supports it.
- Select UPI AutoPay and authorize the mandate in your UPI app. Before confirming, check the amount and recurring frequency shown in the mandate.
- Keep the billing route in mind for future changes. YouTube says memberships started in the iOS app are managed through iTunes. For other existing memberships, the official guidance does not guarantee that every account can change its billing route; check the options in that membership’s payment settings.
YouTube says a membership is charged at the start of each new billing cycle until it is cancelled. Its help page also describes India e-mandate prompts where applicable. Check YouTube’s instructions for managing or changing a Premium membership.

What the UPI AutoPay mandate authorizes
UPI AutoPay uses a mandate that specifies recurring-payment details such as amount, frequency or duration. Google Pay’s guidance lists monthly as a supported frequency, says recurring payments below ₹15,000 require UPI PIN entry when setting up the mandate, and says payments above ₹15,000 require PIN approval for each payment. Google also says users receive a debit notification within 24 hours before a bank debit and can revoke a mandate; after revocation, the merchant cannot debit funds under that mandate. If UPI AutoPay does not appear
- Check the billing route shown at checkout. The explicit YouTube Premium UPI AutoPay example is for Google Play; another billing route may show different payment methods.
- For an iOS app signup, check iTunes billing. YouTube says those memberships are managed through iTunes, so do not assume the Google Play payment options apply.
- For an existing membership, inspect its own payment settings. The available guidance does not establish that every existing subscriber can switch billing routes.
- Do not confuse card mandates with UPI AutoPay. Google’s India guidance about card e-mandates and possible prepaid-plan prompts concerns card automatic payments, a separate payment method. See YouTube’s India automatic-payment guidance.
Separate need: keeping a YouTube live stream running
If by “streaming server” you mean keeping pre-recorded video live on a YouTube channel around the clock, that is different from paying for YouTube Premium.
