Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →For a YouTube Live stream, start with OBS set to H.264, CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval and AAC stereo audio at 128 Kbps. YouTube recommends 5 Mbps for 1080p30 or 3 Mbps for 720p30; choose the lower profile if it is the one your actual JioFiber connection and computer can sustain continuously. These are YouTube recommendations, not guarantees about your line. If you mean a different platform, check its current ingest requirements before configuring OBS.
Choose an OBS profile your connection can sustain
A 24/7 stream needs a stable upload and encoder, not just a high peak speed. YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrates are a useful starting point, but they do not certify that a particular JioFiber connection, router, computer or plan can stream without interruptions. The values below are YouTube guidance accessed in 2026; they are not JioFiber performance measurements.
| YouTube target | Recommended video bitrate | Other baseline settings |
|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps | H.264, CBR, 2-second keyframe interval; AAC stereo at 128 Kbps |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | H.264, CBR, 2-second keyframe interval; AAC stereo at 128 Kbps |
| 720p60 | 6 Mbps | H.264, CBR, 2-second keyframe interval; AAC stereo at 128 Kbps |
| 1080p60 | 12 Mbps | H.264, CBR, 2-second keyframe interval; AAC stereo at 128 Kbps |
Use 30 fps unless the program benefits from 60 fps and both the computer and connection can sustain the higher target. For a continuous broadcast, lower resolution and bitrate with headroom is generally a safer starting point than pushing the line near its limit. YouTube transcodes the incoming live stream into formats for viewers, so a higher OBS output is not the only way viewers can watch at different resolutions. See YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrate guidance.
Set the output in OBS
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and connect the account or enter the stream key from YouTube Live Control Room. Treat the key like a password: do not show it in a recording or share it. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- Choose the output mode. Open Settings > Output. If OBS is in Simple output mode, switch to Advanced so you can set rate control and keyframe interval. Under the Streaming section, select an H.264 encoder available on your computer. A hardware encoder can reduce CPU work, but it still needs to encode reliably at the selected resolution and frame rate.
- Set rate control and bitrate. Set Rate Control to CBR. Enter the bitrate matching your chosen YouTube target: for example, 3,000 Kbps for 720p30 or 5,000 Kbps for 1080p30. Do not enter the full result of a speed test as the OBS bitrate.
- Set keyframes. Set Keyframe Interval to 2 seconds. This is a YouTube ingest recommendation.
- Set audio. In the Streaming audio settings, select AAC and stereo output at 128 Kbps. Check that the intended desktop, media or microphone audio source is actually present in the OBS mixer; a correct encoder setting cannot fix a muted or missing source.
- Match the video output. In Settings > Video, set the output resolution and frame rate to the target profile—for example, 1280×720 at 30 fps for 720p30 or 1920×1080 at 30 fps for 1080p30. Confirm the stream’s incoming resolution and frame rate in YouTube Live Control Room during a test.
OBS labels and available encoders can vary with its version, operating system and hardware. The important output values are H.264, CBR, the selected target bitrate, a 2-second keyframe interval and AAC stereo at 128 Kbps.

Check the JioFiber upload you will actually use
Jio advertises symmetric upload and download speeds on broadband plans. Its Mumbai plan page, for example, lists tiers of 30, 100, 150 and 300 Mbps; those are location-specific plan examples, not evidence of your package’s speed or your sustained upload at stream time. Check your own plan and test from the location and connection the streaming computer will use. Jio’s Mumbai broadband plan page
- Run an upload test on the same computer and preferably the same wired or Wi-Fi connection intended for the stream. Treat one test as a snapshot, not a continuous-speed guarantee.
- Observe stability over time, especially at the hours the stream will run. Leave capacity for other devices and household use rather than using the full measured upload for OBS.
- If Wi-Fi appears to be the weak link and the computer and router have compatible ports, testing over Ethernet is a reasonable troubleshooting step. It cannot correct instability elsewhere in the ISP connection.
- Check the terms for your specific JioFiber plan if the broadcast is monetized or otherwise commercial. Jio’s postpaid FAQ says unlimited home-use plan data may be discontinued in cases of misuse, fraudulent, unauthorized or commercial use; that does not establish that every plan allows commercial continuous streaming. Jio’s postpaid fair-usage FAQ
Test the stream before leaving it unattended
Run a private or otherwise appropriate test with picture movement and audio representative of the actual program. Check the incoming resolution and frame rate, audio, YouTube stream health and any encoder or connection warnings. YouTube recommends testing before going live and monitoring stream health and messages during a broadcast. A successful short test is useful, but it does not guarantee a 24/7 run will remain uninterrupted. YouTube live-stream testing and health guidance

Children’s content needs checks beyond OBS
Correct encoder values do not make a broadcast suitable for children or establish that it meets platform rules. Before launch, review current YouTube Live and child-directed-content settings and requirements in YouTube Studio, and make the appropriate audience and content choices for the actual program. The available guidance here does not establish a special OBS profile or a blanket policy approval for 24/7 children’s broadcasts.
Also review the rights for every video, song, sound effect and other asset in the loop. A continuous format does not change copyright obligations, and a technically healthy stream can still be interrupted or restricted for content or policy reasons.

Common problems and fixes
- Dropped frames or unstable connection: OBS recommends lowering video bitrate when troubleshooting connection problems. Reduce it, then test again; if necessary, reduce resolution or frame rate as well. Check whether the upload remains stable under normal household network use. OBS stream connection troubleshooting
- Encoder overload or stuttering video: The computer may not sustain the chosen encoding workload. Try a less demanding resolution or frame rate, or an available hardware H.264 encoder, then repeat a representative test.
- YouTube reports a different incoming resolution or frame rate: Compare OBS’s output resolution and FPS with the stream information shown in YouTube Live Control Room. Correct the OBS video output or encoder profile, then verify again.
- No sound or the wrong sound: Check the OBS audio mixer meters and selected source, then confirm AAC stereo output at 128 Kbps and listen to the test from the viewer side.
- Stream stops after the key is changed: Update the stream key in OBS to match the active key in YouTube Studio. Keep the new key private.
Or let it run in the cloud
