Give viewers a specific reason to join your 24/7 stream, then link straight to it. A Community post can highlight what is happening now, invite a response, or point people to a themed moment—but YouTube does not prescribe a posting schedule proven to grow continuous-stream views. Use timely updates, try formats that suit your channel, and compare results in YouTube Studio Analytics.
Write the post around a reason to watch now
Lead with what viewers will get if they open the stream: a current scene, an ongoing event, a themed stretch, or a useful moment to drop into. Add a simple invitation and a direct link to the active stream. Keep the description accurate; a continuous stream does not need to be presented as a new event each time.
For example: “Still live: [specific value or current scene]. Drop in any time and tell us what you’d like to see next: [stream link].” Replace the bracketed detail with something that is genuinely happening or available on your stream. This is an example of clear post copy, not a proven engagement formula.
Choose a post format that fits the update
YouTube supports text, image, video, poll, quiz, and playlist posts. The format should make the update easier to understand or act on; none is established as the best performer for every channel.

- Text: Use for a short status update, explanation, or invitation, with the stream link included.
- Image: Choose a relevant, legible visual that identifies the stream or the moment you are highlighting. YouTube’s desktop guidance suggests a square image aspect ratio for feed display.
- Video: Share the stream itself or a related YouTube video when the video gives viewers a clear next step.
- Poll: Ask a specific question connected to the stream. YouTube’s computer guidance permits up to four options, with text answers up to 65 characters.
- Quiz or playlist: Use these when they directly fit the content and help viewers find the stream or related material.
YouTube notes that post type can affect impressions. Treat that as a reason to review your own channel’s results, not as evidence that a particular format will outperform the others.
Time posts to meaningful moments, not an assumed cadence
For a newly scheduled live event, YouTube Help recommends sharing the streaming link at least 48 hours before going live. That is advance-promotion advice for a planned event, not a recommended interval for repeatedly promoting a 24/7 stream.

For an always-on stream, post when there is something timely to say: a new program segment, a themed period, a notable event, or a useful prompt for your community. You can schedule posts and choose a publication date, time, and time zone. YouTube also limits how many posts a channel may publish in a 24-hour period, but its cited computer guidance does not give a universal numeric limit. It does not establish an ideal repeat frequency for continuous streams, so avoid assuming that more posts will necessarily increase reach.
Understand where Community posts may appear
Community-only posts are different from posts shown on the channel’s Posts tab: viewers do not see Community-only posts on that tab. YouTube says these posts may be recommended in Home, subscriptions, and Watch Next. Those are possible discovery surfaces, not guaranteed placement, subscriber notifications, or a promise of views.

For broader live-event promotion, YouTube also suggests sharing on social media, embedding the stream URL on a website, and maintaining a Live section on the channel. These options complement a Community post; they do not make its distribution predictable.
Use YouTube Studio Analytics to decide what to repeat
In YouTube Studio Analytics, the Posts view reports post impressions and top posts by likes or votes. Analytics also include traffic-source and content-format views that let you compare live streams and posts. Use your channel’s own data rather than treating a format choice or posting rhythm as a universal rule.

- Compare posts over consistent time periods, and note the format, subject or reason to watch, publication time, and time zone.
- Review post impressions and likes or votes, then check relevant traffic-source and format views.
- Account for differences in format and quantity when comparing results; the available reports do not establish a controlled experiment or guarantee that a post caused stream views.
- Repeat a topic, visual, or prompt only when your own results give you a reason to do so.
Post impressions are not the same as attributable stream viewers unless the available analytics establish that relationship. Do not present impressions as proof that a post brought viewers into the stream.
