The practical shortlist is NivoHost, Endercloud and VyomCloud, but their published plan figures do not prove that a server can sustain your chosen stream around the clock. Choose by monthly data allowance, sustained route to YouTube, recovery options and total cost—not by location or port speed alone.
If you want to avoid installing and monitoring a server, StreamNeo is a managed alternative: upload a video or playlist, add your YouTube stream key and go live from the cloud. It is not a VPS, and the provider describes it as a service for looping prerecorded material to YouTube. See StreamNeo.
Which Indian VPS providers are on the shortlist?
The figures below are public offer snapshots reported by iTechGuides on October 3, 2026. They are provider-published specifications, not independently measured stream performance; availability, pricing, traffic terms and taxes can change. Confirm the current plan and terms directly before buying.
| Provider | Published offer snapshot | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| NivoHost | Starting at ₹699/month; one stream handle; 360p at 10 fps; 4 GB RAM; 20 TB bandwidth. Higher tiers are also described. | The comparison reports a provider-stated 99% uptime claim. Verify what it covers, along with renewal price, exact server location and bandwidth terms. |
| Endercloud | Mumbai plan starting at ₹999/month; 3 vCores, 8 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 2 TB bandwidth and a stated 1 Gbps network. | The port speed and monthly data allowance are different limits. Check whether your workload is permitted and whether the allowance covers your intended bitrate and duration. |
| VyomCloud | Mumbai options reported at ₹360/month (1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 0.5 TB traffic, 100 Mbps); ₹1,040/month (2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 2 TB, 250 Mbps); and ₹1,600/month (4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 5 TB, 250 Mbps). | The comparison also reports an advertised latency figure and 99.5% uptime SLA. Neither is independently measured here; review the SLA scope and actual route to YouTube. |
These offers cannot support a defensible price or performance ranking: no independent route measurements, confirmed continuous stream runs or reviewed SLA terms are available. The most suitable plan depends on whether you merely transmit an already encoded file or also need to encode, compose or otherwise process video in real time.

How much bandwidth does a 24/7 stream need?
Match the encoder to the desired picture
YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends choosing a quality the connection can reliably sustain, testing upload bitrate with representative audio and motion, and monitoring stream health. For H.264, YouTube’s published recommended video bitrates include:
| Resolution and frame rate | Recommended H.264 video bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p30 | 8 Mbps |
| 720p60 | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p30 | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p60 | 17 Mbps |
| 1440p30 | 21 Mbps |
| 1440p60 | 34 Mbps |
| 2160p30 | 42 Mbps |
| 2160p60 | 50 Mbps |
These are H.264 recommendations, not universal minimums or guarantees. YouTube also lists different recommendations for H.265/HEVC and AV1; use the official table for the codec and resolution you actually select. YouTube supports RTMP/RTMPS, H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1, allows up to 60 fps, recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. See YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance.

Check monthly transfer separately from port speed
A server’s network port describes a possible connection speed; it does not tell you how much data the plan permits each month. As a planning estimate, a continuous 1 Mbps stream for 30 days sends about 324 GB in decimal units before protocol overhead. Multiply that estimate by the bitrate in Mbps:
- 8 Mbps: about 2.59 TB per 30 days.
- 10 Mbps: about 3.24 TB per 30 days.
- 17 Mbps: about 5.51 TB per 30 days.
These are arithmetic estimates, not provider measurements; reserve room for protocol overhead and other traffic. On that basis, Endercloud’s reported 2 TB allowance would be below the simple 30-day estimate for a continuous 8 Mbps stream. Verify whether traffic is metered, throttled or billed as overage, and whether the plan counts traffic in both directions.

Leave headroom on the route to YouTube
YouTube advises that total stream bitrate fit the available upload bandwidth and recommends 20% headroom. A listed port speed is not proof of stable throughput over time: packet loss, route quality and congestion can interrupt a stream. YouTube warns that a connectivity disruption can break the stream. Read its streaming tips and test from the intended server where possible.
What to verify before choosing a VPS
- Define the workload. If the source file is already encoded, the VPS may only need to send it continuously. If you plan to transcode or compose in real time, do not assume a low-cost plan can handle that workload just because it can transmit video.
- Calculate transfer needs. Use your target bitrate and planned duration, then compare the estimate with the monthly allowance. Check fair-use rules, throttling, overages and traffic accounting.
- Check sustained outbound performance. Ask about the port limit, then test stability, packet loss and the route to YouTube ingest from the actual server. An India location by itself does not guarantee a reliable stream.
- Confirm recovery and monitoring. Find out what restarts the streaming process after a crash, host reboot or network interruption, and whether alerts or monitoring are included.
- Calculate total cost and administration. Include taxes, storage, licenses, backups, traffic charges and support, as well as the time required to install and maintain the encoder.
- Verify location and terms. Confirm the actual VPS location, current plan availability and contract terms rather than relying on a plan snapshot or a broad uptime claim.
Configure the YouTube stream for a VPS
YouTube’s setup documentation requires the encoder’s stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or include it in publicly visible commands, logs or screenshots. If it is exposed, use YouTube’s stream-management controls to replace or reset it. Follow YouTube’s live streaming setup guidance.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
- Set up the YouTube live stream. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and obtain its server URL and stream key using YouTube’s current live-control workflow.
- Choose the source and output settings. Use the already-encoded file or playlist if you intend to pass it through. Select a supported codec and resolution; for H.264, use YouTube’s relevant bitrate recommendation rather than assuming a VPS can encode any target.
- Set keyframes and rate control. Use constant bitrate encoding where applicable. Set a two-second keyframe interval and do not exceed four seconds, in line with YouTube’s encoder guidance.
- Configure the encoder or player on the VPS. Enter YouTube’s stream URL and key, and set the outbound bitrate so it fits the server’s sustained upload capacity with YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom.
- Test before relying on 24/7 operation. Run representative footage with audio and motion, check YouTube stream health and confirm the monthly transfer allowance is sufficient for the intended continuous duration.
- Arrange process recovery. Configure an appropriate service manager or monitoring approach to restart the encoder after a process failure or server reboot. Confirm how network interruptions are detected and whether the process reconnects successfully.
Common problems and practical fixes
- Stream health degrades or the stream disconnects: the VPS may not sustain the total bitrate, or the route may be unstable. Lower the output quality or bitrate, verify headroom and test packet loss and sustained upload from the server.
- The stream stops after running for a while: check whether the monthly transfer allowance was exhausted or throttling began. Compare actual transfer with your bitrate estimate and confirm the provider’s billing and fair-use rules.
- The process does not resume after a crash or reboot: configure and test automatic restart and alerting; do not assume a VPS plan includes recovery for your encoder.
- The key is rejected or the stream does not connect: verify that the correct YouTube stream URL and current key are configured, and replace the key if it may have been exposed.
- The server has a fast advertised port but poor results: test the actual path to YouTube ingest and sustained performance. A port label alone does not establish real-time reliability.
Copyright and YouTube policy still apply
Running a pre-recorded file as a live stream does not remove the need for rights to the video, music or other material. Use content you own or are authorized to stream, and review YouTube’s copyright and live-stream policies before scheduling a long-running broadcast. A successful connection or stable VPS does not establish that the content is permitted or eligible for monetization.
Or let it run in the cloud
For one prerecorded video or a playlist, StreamNeo avoids VPS setup and ongoing server monitoring. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; the cloud service loops the uploaded material to YouTube.
