YouTube’s livestream terms require the necessary rights for live content worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. The platform terms do not settle country-specific legal questions or establish whether a particular Kannada bhakti song or recording is public domain.
Make a track-by-track rights checklist
- Identify the composition and the exact recording, including the performer, label, or other recording owner where applicable.
- Obtain written permission covering live-stream use, the territories where the stream will be available, and the intended duration.
- Confirm whether permission also covers any recording, archive, or replay you plan to keep on YouTube.

3. Coordinate Content ID before going live
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can cause the stream to be replaced by a placeholder; if the material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.”
If a rights holder has licensed your use, ask whether your channel must be added to their Content ID allowlist and have them complete that step before the broadcast. 4. Do not rely on Creator Music for a live broadcast
A Creator Music listing or license for a video is not, on its own, permission to use that track in a live stream. YouTube says tracks available through Creator Music can be used in long-form videos, not Shorts or live streams; the licensed-track revenue described in that guidance applies to watch-page views, not live streams. Check YouTube’s Creator Music usage details and obtain rights that expressly cover your intended live use.
5. Choose how to keep the broadcast running
DIY: run an encoder continuously
With an encoder workflow, you prepare the video playlist, configure encoding software to send it to your YouTube live event, and keep the computer and connection operating. The exact encoder steps and settings depend on the software you choose; YouTube’s cited setup guidance does not provide a Kannada-specific or 24/7 recipe, nor does it specify bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval, or redundancy settings.

6. Troubleshoot likely interruptions
- You cannot start a live stream: Check that the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days.
- YouTube replaces or interrupts the broadcast: A third-party content match may have occurred. Check the live-stream notice, review the matched recording, and resolve the claim with the relevant rights holder; if licensed, ask whether the channel needs Content ID allowlisting.
- The stream stops when you leave: In a DIY encoder setup, the computer or connection may have stopped. Check the encoder and connection, and decide how you will monitor and restart them. YouTube’s setup guidance does not specify a 24/7 recovery system.
- A Creator Music track is flagged or unavailable for the live use: Creator Music’s listed licensing and revenue-sharing terms do not cover live streams. Obtain permission that expressly covers livestreaming instead.
