Yes. A Mac mini can host streaming software that sends an audio-and-video feed to YouTube around the clock. Set up the channel and encoder, connect YouTube’s stream URL and key, secure rights to the music, and test the whole chain before relying on it. The Mac is only one part of the system: network interruptions, YouTube’s copyright checks, and archive limits can still affect a continuous broadcast.
What the Mac mini does—and what it does not guarantee
The Mac mini runs the encoder: software that packages your audio and visuals and sends them to YouTube. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a stream URL and stream key, and its list of Mac-compatible streaming software includes Ecamm. Apple’s Mac mini specifications list macOS, Ethernet, and hardware-accelerated H.264 and HEVC encoding. These capabilities make the Mac mini a plausible dedicated encoder host, but they do not establish that a specific model or configuration will run without interruption for 24/7 duty.
Choose streaming software that supports your Mac’s macOS version and the output you intend to send. Test that exact combination rather than assuming a particular processor, memory tier, preset, or bitrate is required. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance is at YouTube’s encoder help page; Apple’s current model details are in Mac mini technical specifications.
Get the YouTube channel ready first
- Verify the channel and check its standing. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Review YouTube’s live-streaming access requirements.
- Enable live streaming ahead of launch. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave this until the planned start time.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. Follow YouTube’s encoder workflow to retrieve the stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
Set up the Mac mini and encoder
- Install a compatible encoder. Confirm its macOS compatibility and follow its current instructions for adding a YouTube destination.
- Choose the content sources. Add the music audio source and a visual, such as artwork you have permission to use. Confirm that both are routed into the encoder; a video stream with no audible program is not a usable music broadcast.
- Enter YouTube’s connection details. Paste the stream URL and key into the encoder’s YouTube or custom RTMP destination fields, as its interface requires. Keep the key private.
- Set output based on the actual connection and encoder. YouTube recommends that available upload bandwidth exceed the total stream bitrate by 20%. Measure the connection you will use and leave that headroom; shared network capacity or brief disruptions can still affect the stream. There is no single upload-speed figure that fits every resolution, frame rate, and bitrate. See YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrate guidance.
- Use a stable network path. Ethernet is an option when the router is reachable. YouTube notes that connection disruptions can break a stream; a wired connection does not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Clear music rights before broadcasting
For an Indian music channel—whether it plays bhajans, kirtan, Gurbani, Hindi music, or another repertoire—check the rights for every recording and composition before using it. YouTube’s livestream terms require creators to have the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Check that permission covers the live stream, intended territories, and any archived replay you plan to make available.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
A license alone may not prevent an interruption. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may replace the feed with a placeholder, issue a warning, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. YouTube says a licensed rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights holder about that before launch. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions set out the rights obligation; its live-stream copyright guidance explains detection and allowlisting.
Do not assume a general music subscription or a track’s availability in a library grants continuous live-stream and replay rights. YouTube’s cited Creator Music guidance says revenue-sharing tracks cannot be used in live streams. Confirm the applicable license explicitly covers the use you intend.

Test, launch, and plan for interruptions
- Run a private or unlisted test where appropriate. Check YouTube Studio’s preview before making the broadcast public.
- Listen and watch from the viewer side. Verify audio levels, sync, the visual, and that the correct content is playing.
- Check upload performance while the encoder is running. Look for dropped frames or connection warnings and compare the encoder’s total bitrate with measured upload capacity, allowing YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom.
- Confirm the archive behavior. Test how the stream appears in YouTube Studio and decide whether you need shorter sessions for replay purposes.
- Keep a recovery plan and a person responsible. Have a way to notice an interruption, investigate rights or network warnings, and restart if needed. A UPS may help with some local power interruptions, but it is optional equipment—not a guarantee against downtime.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not promise a complete replay of one uninterrupted 24-hour session. Check YouTube Studio’s current controls and plan shorter broadcast sessions if a dependable archive matters. See YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.
Monetization is conditional
Eligible YouTube Partner Program channels may be able to use live-stream ads and features such as Super Chat, Super Stickers, or memberships, subject to channel eligibility and policy compliance. YouTube says ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. A 24/7 schedule by itself does not qualify a channel for monetization or establish any expected revenue. Current details are on YouTube’s live-stream monetization page.
