The exact reason YouTube is rejecting a 24/7 recorded class stream cannot be determined from the title alone. Start with the notice in YouTube Studio or Live Control Room: it can distinguish a channel restriction or rights issue from a mismatched OBS stream key or an unstable connection. A successful connection from OBS does not by itself mean YouTube has accepted the stream. The official guidance reviewed does not establish a special India-only ban on OBS or prerecorded classes, so check the account’s actual notice and stream status rather than assuming the location is the cause.
First, identify what “rejecting” means
Before changing OBS settings, note the exact message, when it appeared, which stream or event it refers to, and whether Studio shows an appeal or status option. A channel-level restriction, a copyright interruption, an encoder configuration problem and a delivery failure need different fixes. Changing hardware or bitrate will not restore live access if YouTube has restricted the channel.
- Studio says live streaming is unavailable or restricted: investigate channel eligibility and the stated policy action.
- The stream connects, then is interrupted or terminated: inspect the recording for third-party material and check YouTube’s copyright notice.
- OBS cannot connect, or Live Control Room does not receive the feed: verify the selected event, stream URL and key.
- The feed starts but health is poor or it disconnects: test upload capacity and connection stability.
Check channel eligibility and restrictions
YouTube’s published live-streaming eligibility guidance says a channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. Read the account’s current notice in YouTube Studio and follow its stated review or appeal route if one is available. A restriction based on Community Guidelines or copyright is an account-level issue, not an OBS setting; do not try to evade an active restriction by streaming through another channel. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance describes the general requirements.
Review the full class recording for rights issues
A prerecorded class can still contain material that YouTube identifies during a live broadcast. Review the entire file—not only the lecture itself—for music, film or television clips, embedded recordings of other lectures, game footage, or other third-party content for which the channel does not have the necessary streaming rights. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches and may interrupt or terminate a stream if matched content continues. YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams explains the matching process.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Having a license does not necessarily prevent a live interruption: YouTube says the rights holder may need to allowlist the channel through Content ID. Check the actual claim or interruption notice and resolve it with the relevant rights holder or YouTube process; do not assume that a purchase, credit or classroom use automatically grants worldwide streaming rights. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have necessary rights for worldwide exploitation and to meet applicable territorial requirements. The official guidance reviewed is general platform guidance; it does not establish an India-specific prohibition on recorded classes.
Match the YouTube event and stream key to OBS
If YouTube is not receiving the feed or OBS reports a connection error, confirm that OBS is sending to the intended event. In YouTube Live Control Room, inspect the selected stream’s URL, stream key and settings, then verify that OBS uses the corresponding values. A stream key works like a password and destination for the encoder: keep it private, and reset it if it has been exposed or otherwise needs replacement. After resetting it, update OBS with the new key. See YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance for the relevant stream settings.

- Open the intended broadcast in YouTube Live Control Room and check that the correct event or stream is selected.
- Check the stream URL and key shown for that stream. Confirm OBS is configured to use those current values, not a key or event from an older broadcast.
- Check the preview and status in Live Control Room after starting the encoder. If the feed does not appear, recheck the selected event and connection details before changing unrelated video settings.
- Protect the key. Do not publish it or include it in a recording or screenshot. If compromised, replace it in YouTube and update OBS before reconnecting.
Test upload capacity and connection stability
If the stream connects but drops or reports poor health, test outbound upload capacity on the same connection and device that will run OBS. YouTube says the total stream bitrate must not exceed available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom above the stream’s total bitrate. Account for other devices and traffic on a shared connection; a fast result on another device or at another time does not prove the streaming computer has stable capacity. YouTube also warns that a connectivity disruption can break a stream. Its streaming tips cover bandwidth, connection and monitoring.
- Test the actual outbound connection under the conditions in which the stream will run.
- Leave the recommended headroom rather than setting the stream bitrate equal to the connection’s best-case upload result.
- Reduce competing uploads or other network traffic during the test, then watch Live Control Room’s preview and stream health.
- If the connection is shared or variable, repeat the test at a representative busy time before committing to continuous operation.
Run a short test before restoring a 24/7 schedule
YouTube recommends setting up the encoder in advance, checking the Live Control Room preview, verifying that the event is accessible on channel or watch pages and mobile, and monitoring audio and video. Use a short private or unlisted test when appropriate for the channel and event. Confirm that the sound is present, the picture is correct, the intended event is visible and the stream remains healthy before returning to continuous operation. See YouTube’s computer live-streaming tips.

Do not rely on a 24/7 stream as the class archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours. Because a continuous 24/7 stream crosses that boundary, keep an independent local copy of the class recording and plan a separate archive or schedule if viewers need reliable access to the full lesson. Consult YouTube’s pages on archiving live streams and DVR for live streams.
Troubleshoot by symptom
| What you see | Likely branch to check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Studio says live access is restricted | Channel eligibility or policy action | Read the exact account notice, check verification and the restriction status, then use the stated review or appeal process. Do not treat OBS changes as a policy fix. |
| Stream begins and YouTube interrupts or terminates it | Copyright or third-party match | Inspect the full recording and the notice for matched content; resolve rights or Content ID allowlisting with the relevant rights holder or YouTube process. |
| OBS connects but no intended event or preview appears | Wrong event, URL or stream key | Compare the Live Control Room stream details with OBS, confirm the selected broadcast and replace an exposed key if necessary. |
| Feed appears but is unstable or stream health is poor | Insufficient or inconsistent upload bandwidth | Test the streaming connection, leave YouTube’s recommended 20% bitrate headroom, reduce competing traffic and monitor health during a short test. |
| The stream runs but the replay is missing or incomplete | Long-stream archive or DVR limitation | Do not rely on a stream beyond 12 hours as the sole archive. Retain a local recording and plan a separate way to publish the class. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If the channel is eligible and the recording is rights-cleared, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only option for keeping uploaded videos live continuously: upload the recording, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without a computer or home connection left on; each slot streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo does not resolve a YouTube account restriction or grant rights to third-party content, and a 24/7 stream still has YouTube’s archive limitations. See StreamNeo for details, or start the free first day.
