1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFor a continuous, ordered queue of recorded Punjabi podcast episodes, use OBS Studio’s VLC Video Source as the playout system and send its output to YouTube Live. Add the episode files in order, turn shuffle off, and enable looping only if you want the playlist to repeat. YouTube’s Live Streaming API can manage broadcast events and incoming streams, but it does not play or queue your local episode files.
This creates a live stream of prerecorded episodes, not a live conversation. You still need to prepare the media, verify your channel’s eligibility and rights, and plan for interruptions.
What you need before building the queue
- Episode files: Check that each recording plays locally and that the audio and video are ready to air.
- Rights to everything in the stream: Confirm you are authorized to livestream the episodes and any music, clips, artwork, or other material they contain. YouTube’s live content must follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
- OBS Studio and VLC: OBS documents the VLC Video Source for Windows, macOS, and Linux; VLC must be installed for the source to appear in OBS. See the OBS Project’s Media Sources documentation.
- A YouTube channel eligible to livestream: Check the channel’s status in YouTube Studio before scheduling. YouTube’s current help page says channels must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and be operated by someone at least 16 years old.
Punjabi-language episodes use the same playout and delivery workflow as other recorded programs. The language does not make the stream interactive or change how the queue is assembled.
Build an ordered episode queue in OBS
- Install VLC, then open OBS. If VLC is not installed, the VLC Video Source may not be available in OBS.
- Add the playlist source. In the Sources panel, select + and choose VLC Video Source. If that option is missing, check that VLC is installed and reopen OBS.
- Name the source (for example, “Punjabi podcast queue”) and add the episode files to its playlist in the order you want them to air.
- Turn shuffle off. This preserves the listed order. Enable the source’s loop option only if you want the queue to restart after the final episode.
- Check the scene and playback. Confirm the video fits the canvas as intended and that audio is audible through OBS. Preview the full path—from the first episode through a transition to the next—before making the broadcast public.
OBS’s documentation establishes playlist, shuffle, and loop controls; it does not promise unattended reliability. Keep the computer, media files, and encoder available during a local OBS broadcast, and have an operator or recovery plan for playback, encoder, or network interruptions.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Choose the broadcast setup in YouTube Studio. Create or schedule the live event and set its title, start time, and privacy status as appropriate for your channel.
- Copy the stream delivery details from YouTube Studio. Enter the stream key and any required server settings in OBS’s stream configuration. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or include it in a recording.
- Start the OBS feed and check YouTube’s preview. Verify picture, sound, episode order, and the event’s privacy setting before going public.
- Monitor the broadcast. Watch for dropped delivery, a stalled source, or an episode that fails to play. The OBS and API documentation cited here do not guarantee automatic recovery.
YouTube distinguishes the watchable event from the incoming feed. Its API guide explains: “A broadcast represents an event that can be watched on YouTube as it happens.” In API terms, the event is a liveBroadcast; the incoming feed configuration is a liveStream. The YouTube broadcasts and streams guide describes both a continuous feed that can coexist with separate broadcast videos and recurring distinct broadcasts that reuse a stream.
Choose between one continuous show and separate episode events
One continuous show feed
Use the OBS playlist as the playout schedule when the priority is a continuously running queue. YouTube receives the encoder feed; OBS plays the files. Decide whether the playlist should loop, and arrange your own monitoring and recovery for interruptions.

Separate scheduled events for episodes
If every episode needs its own scheduled event and archive, create distinct broadcasts rather than treating one never-ending feed as the schedule. YouTube’s Live Streaming API implementation guide describes creating a scheduled event with liveBroadcasts.insert, including its title, scheduled start time, and privacy status. A stream resource carries transmission settings and is bound as required. The API can manage those resources; an encoder or hosted playout service is still needed to play and transmit the episode files.
When a hosted prerecorded stream may fit better
StreamYard documents scheduling a prerecorded video to YouTube so that it starts at the chosen time and ends when that video finishes. Its documentation describes selecting a video for a scheduled stream and notes plan-specific maximum durations; it also says prerecorded outputs are not automatically saved to the library. The reviewed documentation does not establish an editable, multi-episode queue inside one continuous scheduled broadcast. Check current plan limits and feature support before relying on it.

| Choice | Queue shape | What must be available | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| OBS with VLC playlist | Multiple local files in an ordered playlist, with shuffle and loop controls documented by OBS | The local encoder and media files must be running and available | A continuous or repeatable queue that an operator can maintain |
| Hosted scheduled prerecorded stream | Documentation describes selecting a prerecorded video for each scheduled stream, not a multi-file continuous queue | The provider schedules the selected video to start and finish; consult current plan limits and support | A single episode aired at a set time without running a local encoder |
The underlying question may be whether you want to upload videos and have them air automatically at a chosen time. That is different from maintaining an ordered queue that can continue through multiple episodes. Choose based on the queue behavior you need, not just the presence of a scheduling feature.
Troubleshoot common queue and broadcast problems
- VLC Video Source is missing: Install VLC and reopen OBS; OBS requires VLC for this source.
- Episodes play in an unexpected order: Turn shuffle off and inspect the playlist order.
- The playlist stops after the last episode: Enable the source’s loop option if you want playback to start again at the beginning.
- An episode has no picture or sound: Test the file locally, then confirm the correct source is visible and audible in OBS before starting the public broadcast.
- YouTube does not receive the feed: Check that OBS has the current stream key and delivery settings from YouTube Studio, and confirm that the encoder is running.
- The stream stops unexpectedly: Check the encoder, local network, and media playback. The documented OBS playlist controls and YouTube API resource model do not promise unattended recovery, so use an operator or a separately arranged recovery method.
- You cannot start a live stream: Check verification and channel-specific restrictions in YouTube Studio. YouTube’s help page describes the eligibility rules, which can change.
