For a 24/7 fighting game replay channel, play authorized recordings from a playlist through an encoder and send the output to YouTube Live. You can run the encoder on a local computer or use a cloud service built for continuous prerecorded streams. Whichever route you choose, schedule stream sessions to end before YouTube’s 12-hour automatic-archiving boundary if you need YouTube VODs, and keep a separate local recording as a backup.
Choose how to keep the replay stream running
YouTube supports encoder-based live streaming for gameplay and more advanced productions. A computer encoder gives you local control over playlist playback and production, but depends on a running machine and continuous network access. YouTube’s encoder guidance also lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming; compare any provider’s current terms and costs before relying on it. Neither route guarantees an uninterrupted broadcast.
- StreamNeo — cloud streaming for uploaded videos. Upload your replay recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops from the cloud, so your home computer can be off; any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps uses one flat price per slot, and the first day is free with no card.
- Computer encoder. Play the playlist locally and send the encoded output to YouTube Live. You control playback and production, but must provide the machine, encoder setup, network continuity, and local recording.
- Other cloud services. YouTube’s encoder help lists Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded streaming. Check playlist and scheduling controls, outage recovery, output quality, archive or recording options, support, and current pricing before choosing a provider.
For StreamNeo, every slot includes one always-on YouTube stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and team support. The same product is on every plan; only the subscription length changes. See StreamNeo for details.
Check channel eligibility and replay rights
Confirm the channel can go live
YouTube’s getting-started guidance says the channel must be verified, must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and the person livestreaming must be at least 16. Confirm eligibility before configuring a long-running broadcast: YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Clear the content in the archive
Use only replay recordings you are authorized to broadcast. The relevant rights may include game footage, tournament material, music, and any other included content. YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to represent that it has the necessary rights for use on Google services, including music licensing rights: YouTube Terms of Service. Game publisher policies and rights for a specific replay archive vary; verify them with the relevant rights holders.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace a broadcast with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it if third-party content remains or a copyright or Community Guidelines strike applies. A licence by itself may not prevent interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Archived livestreams may also receive Content ID claims after the stream ends. See YouTube’s guidance on live-stream copyright.

Set up a computer encoder for the replay playlist
- Prepare the playlist. Organize the authorized replay files in the order you want them to play. Confirm each file plays correctly, including its audio, and decide how the playlist should repeat. The official YouTube guidance supports encoder streaming, but does not prescribe a particular playlist manager or automatic handoff tool.
- Configure YouTube Live and the encoder. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select a stream. Copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone with access may be able to broadcast to your channel. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the workflow: Set up your encoder for live streaming.
- Check the preview before going live. Start the encoder output and verify the incoming preview in Live Control Room. Check that the replay is visible and that audio is present before starting the public broadcast.
- Plan session handoffs. If you want YouTube to create automatic VOD archives, end and restart sessions before they reach 12 hours. Test the handoff process rather than assuming a playlist transition will also restart the YouTube live session.
- Record locally as well. Enable a local recording if retaining a full copy matters, and check that its file is growing. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive; storage needs depend on the recording bitrate, format, and how long you retain files.
- Test the whole cycle. Test playlist playback, stream start, a scheduled handoff, local recording, and recovery after an interruption. Monitor audio and video and check that viewers can see the stream. Do not treat a setup as reliable until you have tested the failure and recovery path.
Keep YouTube archives and continuity in mind
Automatic archiving has a 12-hour limit
YouTube Help says a livestream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. Streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. This is a YouTube platform limit, not a guarantee that every shorter stream will produce a usable archive. For a continuous channel that needs VODs, schedule endings before the boundary and verify each resulting archive. Keep the local recording as a backup. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
Choose DVR and latency intentionally
DVR allows viewers to pause, rewind, and resume a live stream, which can help someone who arrives partway through a match. It does not replace separately organized replay videos. YouTube also notes that lower latency reduces the delay before viewers see the feed but can mean more buffering. Choose the latency setting to suit how viewers will use the stream, then test playback: YouTube’s live-stream settings.

Leave bandwidth headroom
YouTube recommends 20% upload-bandwidth headroom. Treat that as capacity above the stream’s upload demand, not as a substitute for monitoring your connection. Its streaming tips also recommend testing the setup and checking the preview and local archive: YouTube live-streaming tips.

Troubleshoot common failures
- YouTube receives no video. Check that the encoder is sending to the correct YouTube stream URL and that it has the right stream key. Confirm output is running and inspect the Live Control Room preview before starting the broadcast.
- The broadcast is interrupted or replaced. Check for third-party material, including music, and review copyright or Community Guidelines notices. Confirm that you have the necessary rights; where relevant, ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting.
- A long session has no VOD archive. YouTube may not capture streams exceeding 12 hours. Keep sessions below that threshold if automatic archiving matters, verify the resulting VODs, and retain a local copy.
- The stream buffers or drops. Check upload stability and leave YouTube’s recommended 20% bandwidth headroom. Review the encoder and YouTube preview, then test the full stream cycle again.
- The local backup is incomplete. Confirm local recording is enabled and that the recording file continues growing. Check available storage and retain a separate copy if the footage is important.
