Schedule the broadcast in YouTube Studio, send its feed from an encoder using the event’s server URL and stream key, check the Live Control Room preview, then click Go live. For a true 24/7 stream, plan separately for monitoring, interruptions, music rights and archiving: YouTube warns that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
Before scheduling: check channel access and plan the broadcast
YouTube’s live-stream guidance says the channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Check eligibility before announcing a schedule; if live streaming is unavailable, resolve the account issue before building the event plan. See YouTube’s live streaming tips.
Decide whether the event should be public, unlisted or private, and prepare its title, description, thumbnail and intended start time. A scheduled event can give viewers a page to find in advance, but scheduling alone does not send video or guarantee that a continuous feed will stay connected.
Choose a continuity and archive plan
Decide whether to run one long event or divide the programming into shorter scheduled events. YouTube’s event setup guidance does not promise uninterrupted 24-hour operation. A long event may be simpler for viewers to follow, while shorter events can make event-by-event archives more practical—but require a plan for restarting, monitoring and directing viewers to each new event.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Archive expectations matter: YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If a complete replay matters, record locally and verify that the recording is usable. Consider shorter events or another archival workflow rather than promising that YouTube will retain the full day. YouTube’s archive guidance recommends keeping a local backup.
Schedule the YouTube Live event and connect an encoder
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream, then set its visibility, title, description, thumbnail and scheduled time. Choose public, unlisted or private according to how viewers should find the event.
- Choose the encoder workflow. YouTube’s encoder setup uses a YouTube Live server URL and stream key. In the encoder, select the event’s video and audio sources and enter the connection details shown for that stream. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions for the current Studio flow.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: anyone with access may be able to send a feed to the event. Do not publish it or share it in an unsecured message. If it is exposed, reset it in Studio and update the encoder with the new key.
- Check event controls. Review the specific event’s auto-start and auto-stop settings. They can change whether an operator must start the event manually or how it ends; do not assume that scheduling automatically starts the encoder or puts the event live.
- Start the encoder before the scheduled broadcast. Wait for the feed to appear in Live Control Room preview. Check the picture, audio and stream health, then click Go live when ready. YouTube’s workflow may require this final action even after the encoder is sending video.
Test the real audio source and end-to-end stream path before the first public broadcast. YouTube recommends setting up well ahead of the event, previewing before going live, monitoring audio and video, and checking any local archive file. See Manage live stream settings for event settings such as stream keys, latency, DVR and auto-start/stop.

Set encoder quality, audio and network capacity
Use YouTube’s current encoder settings page and your encoder’s supported options rather than relying on an old preset. YouTube lists RTMPS as a connection protocol; H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 as supported video codecs; and AAC or MP3 audio options. Its guidance recommends constant bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. Exact resolution and bitrate choices depend on the output quality, encoder and available upload capacity. Consult YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrate and resolution guidance.
- Leave upload headroom. The total outgoing bitrate must fit within the connection’s upload capacity. YouTube recommends 20% headroom beyond the stream bitrate; test the actual connection and avoid treating a best-case speed-test result as guaranteed capacity.
- Prefer a stable connection. Use wired internet where practical, and monitor stream health during the broadcast. A brief network or power failure can interrupt a long-running feed.
- Check audio at the source and in preview. Confirm that the intended microphone, mixer, instrument or playback source reaches the encoder at an appropriate level, with no silent channel, clipping or unwanted noise. An audio interface or preamp may help when the venue’s audio chain needs a dedicated input, but is not a YouTube requirement.
- Use equipment suited to the job. A software encoder and an existing computer can be sufficient. A hardware encoder may suit a higher-production or unattended setup. A UPS can help through a short power loss, but cannot prevent internet or platform outages.
YouTube’s streaming tips cover bandwidth, preparation, monitoring and archive checks. Expensive equipment is not a prerequisite; reliability depends on a tested signal path and a practical plan for watching the stream.

Clear rights for every shabad kirtan recording and performance
Do not assume that a devotional or traditional composition makes a particular recording free to broadcast. A composition, arrangement, live performance, sound recording and backing track can involve different rights holders. YouTube’s terms place responsibility on the provider to secure the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other participants for the territories where the content is used. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.
Before broadcasting, make a track-by-track rights inventory. Obtain written permission covering the actual recording or performance, live transmission, relevant territories and term, and any archive or replay. If licensed third-party material may trigger Content ID, ask the relevant rightsholder or distributor to allowlist the channel. A licence by itself may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a match can replace the stream image, interrupt the broadcast or terminate it. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

A scheduled event is not a substitute for operations. Assign someone—or a tested automation arrangement—to monitor the encoder, audio, video and YouTube stream health, and to respond if the feed drops. For a 24/7 schedule, decide who can restart the encoder, whether a new event must be started, and how viewers will find the next event. YouTube’s published scheduling guidance does not establish uninterrupted continuous operation.

| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| No feed in Live Control Room | Encoder has not started, or server URL or stream key is incorrect. | Confirm the selected event and its connection details in Studio, correct the encoder, and wait for preview before going live. |
| Feed appears, but the event is not live | The event still needs the operator’s final action, or its auto-start setting differs from expectations. | Check the event’s controls and click Go live when the preview is ready. |
| Audio is missing, too quiet or distorted | Wrong input, disconnected mixer/interface, muted channel, or an unsuitable level. | Test the actual source and listen to the Live Control Room preview; correct the routing or levels before public broadcast. |
| Stream health degrades or the feed disconnects | Upload capacity is insufficient or unstable, or the encoder/network path has failed. | Check outgoing bitrate against tested upload capacity, preserve the recommended 20% headroom, use wired networking where practical, and monitor the encoder and connection. |
| Broadcast is interrupted after a copyright match | Third-party content was detected, or licensed content was not allowlisted for the channel. | Review the rights for the specific material and contact the rightsholder or distributor about Content ID allowlisting. Do not assume a licence alone prevents interruption. |
| Full 24-hour replay is missing or incomplete | YouTube may not capture streams longer than 12 hours. | Keep a local recording and use shorter events or another archival workflow if a complete replay is required. |
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube stream built from uploaded recordings rather than a live camera feed, StreamNeo is an alternative to keeping an encoder computer at home: upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Every slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; automatic recovery is available if YouTube drops the stream. Each slot includes 10 GB storage, pooled across active slots, and the same features on every plan. The first day is free with no card, once per account. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.
StreamNeo is for uploaded videos, not a camera-based live performance, and streams to YouTube only. Check that your recordings and playlists are rights-cleared for live transmission and replay. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.
