Short answer: If you want to run a do-it-yourself 24/7 Gurbani stream from an India-region cloud VM, compare the full cost of the instance and outbound data for your chosen bitrate—not just the advertised VM price. Amazon Lightsail has the clearest fixed-price baseline in the available provider information, but its Mumbai transfer allowance is half the general allowance. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Google Cloud offer India-region options, but you need to calculate the selected VM and network charges together. None can be called definitively cheapest or most reliable without a like-for-like quote and a real workload test.
If you want to avoid maintaining a VM, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping an uploaded video or playlist live on YouTube. It is #1 among the options discussed here for simplicity: it runs continuously from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives one free day.
First decide whether the VM will encode or relay
The right cloud size and cost depend on the stream source. An already encoded feed or loop may need a VM chiefly to relay it to YouTube. A raw, uncompressed, or composition-heavy source needs encoding, which makes CPU or GPU capacity and testing under real load important. The provider pricing below does not establish how well a particular VM will encode or how reliably it will run continuously.
For a prerecorded devotional stream, also confirm that you have the rights to use every recording, image, and other element in the broadcast. YouTube’s copyright and monetization decisions are channel- and content-specific; continuous availability alone does not establish eligibility.

Estimate outbound transfer before choosing a plan
Bitrate drives monthly data use. YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends 3 Mbps for 720p30 H.264 and 5 Mbps for 1080p30 H.264. At a constant bitrate, a 30-day stream sends roughly:
- 3 Mbps: 3,000,000 bits/second × 2,592,000 seconds ÷ 8 = 972,000,000,000 bytes, or approximately 0.97 decimal TB before overhead.
- 5 Mbps: 5,000,000 bits/second × 2,592,000 seconds ÷ 8 = 1,620,000,000,000 bytes, or approximately 1.62 decimal TB before overhead.
These are arithmetic estimates, not provider-published usage figures. Actual metering units, protocol overhead, interruptions, and provider accounting can change the total. Leave headroom and check current overage terms before buying.

| Option | Published information relevant to this stream | What you still need to price or verify |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud looping of uploaded video or playlists to YouTube; any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot; first day free with no card. | Choose a billing period and confirm the available storage fits your media. StreamNeo is a managed service, not a configurable VM. |
| Amazon Lightsail VM | Fixed-price Linux/Unix bundles with memory, vCPU, SSD, and transfer included. Mumbai transfer allowances are half the general bundle figures. | Check the Mumbai quota, outbound overage terms, headroom, and whether the instance can handle your relay or encoding workload. |
| Oracle Cloud Infrastructure VM | India-localized compute prices; the first 10 TB/month of outbound transfer originating in APAC is listed as free. | Choose a compute shape and include its compute and storage costs; charges apply above the transfer threshold. |
| Google Cloud VM | Mumbai and Delhi regions are documented, with tiered network egress pricing. | Price the selected VM and destination-specific network charges together. |
| AWS managed live-video architecture | An AWS example separates encoding, packaging, and viewer distribution costs. | This is a different architecture from one VM sending a feed to YouTube and is not a suitable direct VPS price comparison. |
Amazon Lightsail: clearest fixed-price VM baseline
AWS’s general-purpose Linux/Unix Lightsail bundles list the following monthly prices and resources. The Mumbai allowance is half the listed general transfer amount.
| Monthly price | Memory | vCPUs | SSD | Listed transfer | Mumbai transfer |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5/month | 0.5 GB | 2 | 20 GB | 1 TB | 0.5 TB |
| $7/month | 1 GB | 2 | 40 GB | 2 TB | 1 TB |
| $12/month | 2 GB | 2 | 60 GB | 3 TB | 1.5 TB |
The listed allowance accounts for inbound and outbound transfer; AWS says only outbound transfer beyond the allowance is subject to overage. Using the estimates above, a 3 Mbps stream at approximately 0.97 decimal TB nearly uses the Mumbai allowance of the $7 bundle before overhead. A 5 Mbps stream at approximately 1.62 decimal TB exceeds the $12 bundle’s 1.5 TB Mumbai allowance before overhead. That makes the local transfer quota—not simply the listed monthly bundle price—a key part of the decision.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: compare the chosen shape plus transfer
Oracle’s India-localized price list states that the first 10 TB/month of outbound transfer originating in APAC is free, with charges above that level. The total VM cost depends on the compute shape and storage you select, so the transfer allowance alone does not establish the lowest all-in price.
Google Cloud: price compute and egress together
Google documents Mumbai and Delhi regions and tiered egress charges. Select the VM configuration and network tier, then estimate destination-specific egress for a continuous feed. An egress rate by itself is not comparable to a Lightsail bundle that includes a stated transfer allowance.

Do not use managed viewer-delivery costs as a VPS quote
AWS’s managed live-video deployment example estimates $69.74/hour for a one-hour SD-540p event with about 1,000 viewers in US East under its stated assumptions. Its costs include encoding, packaging, and distribution. That is not a price estimate for one VM feeding YouTube, where YouTube handles delivery to viewers.

Before deciding which provider is low-cost for your channel, put the same assumptions into each estimate:
- One continuous feed at the same resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate.
- Whether the VM encodes the media or relays an already encoded stream.
- Where the source media is stored or supplied from, plus storage needs.
- The selected India region, monthly transfer unit, outbound overage, and any destination-specific network charges.
- Taxes, monitoring, restart setup, and the cost of operational work.
For a claimed “best” option, show those assumptions and the arithmetic. Provider prices and regional quotas can change; check the live pricing terms immediately before committing.
Set up a YouTube Live feed from a cloud VM
- Enable YouTube Live and create the stream in YouTube’s workflow. Obtain the stream key through YouTube Studio. Keep it secret: do not put it in a public script, screenshot, or article example. Treat it like a password and rotate it if exposed.
- Choose the source path. For a feed that is already encoded, configure the VM to relay it. If the server must encode raw media or compose scenes, choose an instance with suitable compute resources and test at the intended settings; no provider-specific capacity benchmark is established here.
- Configure the encoder or relay for YouTube. YouTube accepts RTMP/RTMPS and recommends RTMPS. Use YouTube’s valid ingest server and connect over port 443 for RTMPS. Use the stream key only in the protected configuration on your server.
- Set video and audio parameters. YouTube supports H.264, H.265, or AV1 video and AAC or MP3 audio. Use constant bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. For H.264, YouTube recommends 3 Mbps at 720p30 and 5 Mbps at 1080p30. Match the settings to your source and YouTube’s current guidance.
- Test before relying on it. Run a test with similar audio and motion, verify the picture and sound, and check YouTube stream health and ingest messages. Confirm the VM’s sustained upload capacity and data usage against your chosen bitrate.
- Plan recovery and monitoring. Configure the process to restart after a failure, retain logs, and alert someone when the feed stops. Make a recovery plan for an instance, network, or source failure. The pricing information here does not establish a provider-specific restart procedure or uptime guarantee.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you do not want to configure and maintain a VM, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist looping to YouTube from its cloud service. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; the stream supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month.
Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, and StreamNeo team support. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. See StreamNeo pricing, then start the free day on StreamNeo.
