Yes—one OBS setup can send the same relaxation program to two YouTube live events by using a multiple-RTMP-output plugin, provided the plugin works with your OBS version and you have enough upload and encoding capacity. That duplicates one program; it does not automatically create two streams with different visuals or audio. YouTube also limits how many streams can run concurrently.
First decide what “two streams” means
- Same program to two events: A multiple-RTMP-output plugin can send one OBS output to multiple ingest destinations. Each YouTube event needs its own destination details.
- Different programs: If each stream needs different scenes, visuals, or audio, do not assume that adding two destinations gives you independent productions. Current per-output scene and audio isolation support is not established by the available evidence. Verify the plugin’s current documentation and test your exact setup privately.
YouTube’s horizontal/vertical dual-stream feature is another option if you want viewers to watch one event in different formats. It uses a shared URL and live chat, so it is not two independently programmed events. YouTube’s dual-format live-streaming guidance explains that feature.
Check YouTube’s concurrent-stream limits
YouTube’s current live-streaming help page states that a channel can have up to 10 active streams, with up to 3 active streams per stream key. Both limits apply at the same time. If either limit is reached, another stream cannot be started. These are YouTube limits, not a guarantee that a particular OBS computer or network can handle two outputs. Set up the same OBS program on two YouTube events
- Create two events: In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a live event for each destination.
- Collect each event’s connection details: For both events, note the stream URL and the corresponding stream key. Treat each key as a credential: YouTube describes stream keys as like the stream’s “password and address.” A channel owner or manager can reset a compromised key. YouTube’s stream-settings guidance covers keys and stream settings.
- Check compatibility before installing or updating: Confirm that the Multiple RTMP Outputs plugin supports your operating system and installed OBS version. The OBS compatibility table available for this plugin lists Windows, Intel macOS, and Apple macOS for OBS Studio 28; it was published on August 31, 2022, and does not establish compatibility with current OBS releases. - Add both destinations in the plugin: Configure one output for each YouTube event, entering that event’s server URL and stream key. The plugin’s multiple-destination capability is described in OBS community guidance rather than current official plugin documentation, so confirm the instructions for the release you install. - Start and verify the feeds: Start the configured OBS output or outputs, then check the preview and stream health for both events in YouTube Studio. Use each event’s Live Control Room controls to go live when ready. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a stream URL and key, followed by a preview and Go live step. - Test before scheduling a public broadcast: Confirm that both destinations receive the intended picture and sound, and watch for dropped frames or encoder overload. A private or unlisted test is especially important if the streams must differ in any way.
Plan bitrate, upload capacity, and encoding
Two destinations require enough capacity for the configured outputs and the work your computer must do to encode them. The exact requirement depends on your encoder, codec, resolution, frame rate, output configuration, and available connection; there is no universal upload-speed figure for an unspecified setup. Consult YouTube’s recommended encoder settings for bitrate guidance matching your codec, resolution, and frame rate, then test your actual configuration. Do not treat a published recommendation as a guarantee that your network or computer can sustain two outputs.

If each relaxation stream needs different visuals or audio
Multiple destinations alone do not prove that OBS can send a separately composed program to each one. An OBS user report describes scene changes affecting both destinations, but one report cannot establish how every current plugin version behaves. Independent per-output scene and audio routing for your exact OBS, plugin, and operating-system combination remains something to verify.
- Check current plugin documentation for per-output scene and audio routing.
- Run a private or unlisted test with the exact versions and settings you intend to use.
- Check the picture and listen to the sound at both YouTube events after changing a scene or audio source.
If separate output control is not supported in your configuration, use a workflow that can produce two independent feeds rather than assuming one duplicated OBS output will suffice.

Troubleshooting common setup problems
- The second event will not start: Check whether the channel already has 10 active streams or the stream key already has 3. Close an unnecessary active stream or use the correct event and key.
- YouTube receives no feed: Check that the destination uses the correct event’s stream URL and key, and that the event is open for an encoder connection. Re-enter or reset a key if it may have been exposed.
- The plugin is missing or fails to load: Confirm the plugin release supports your installed OBS version and operating system. The cited OBS compatibility list concerns OBS 28 and is dated 2022, so it cannot confirm support for a newer build.
- Both events show the same scene or audio: That is consistent with duplicating one OBS program. Verify whether your current plugin supports independent routing; test changes to scenes and audio at both destinations before relying on separate programming.
- The stream stutters or drops frames: Compare the configured bitrate with YouTube’s recommendation for your codec, resolution, and frame rate. Check actual upload stability and encoder load with both outputs running, then reduce the load or bitrate and retest if needed.
