You can stream recorded ICSE lessons around the clock by running an encoder on a home PC, connecting it to a YouTube Live stream with the stream URL and key, and selecting your lesson video or playlist as the playback source. The PC and internet connection must stay available, and someone should monitor the feed. YouTube does not certify a particular playlist app or guarantee that a 24-hour broadcast will be archived as one replay.
Before you begin
- Check live access: YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Confirm access in YouTube Studio before scheduling a launch. YouTube’s live-streaming overview.
- Prepare authorized recordings: You need the rights to stream each lesson and any music, images, slides, or clips included in it. Educational use or an unlisted stream does not by itself establish permission.
- Plan for continuous operation: Keep the PC and internet connection running for as long as the encoder sends the feed. A power interruption or broadband failure can stop it.
- Keep local copies: Preserve lesson masters and consider a local recording of the broadcast if you need a dependable archive.
Set up the YouTube stream from your home PC
- Create the event in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Copy the server URL and stream key shown there. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send video to that stream. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
- Set up an encoder. Install or open an encoder that can send a live feed to YouTube. In its stream settings, enter the server URL and key from Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder guide documents this connection workflow; it does not endorse one particular playlist or looping app.
- Choose the lesson playback source. Select a recording or ordered playlist in the encoder or playback software you are using. Before going public, test how the software handles the end of a lesson, transitions, and the final item: YouTube’s setup instructions do not define those app-specific behaviors.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Wait for the feed to appear in Live Control Room. Inspect the picture and sound, then check the watch page on another device. YouTube recommends testing in advance and testing backup-encoder failover if you have configured it.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Assign someone to check audio and video quality, interruptions, and any local archive file you are recording. A test reduces surprises but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
Plan the broadcast length around YouTube’s archive behavior
YouTube Help says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. It warns that streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. So, if replays matter, do not rely on one continuous 24-hour broadcast to produce a complete replay. Keep local masters, and consider ending and restarting the broadcast in sessions shorter than 12 hours; then verify each archive in Studio. YouTube’s wording is: “If your live stream is less than 12 hours, YouTube can automatically archive it for you.” See Archive live streams.
Check rights and monetization before scheduling
Copyright and permissions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party copyrighted content. A match may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even a licensed item can trigger an interruption unless the rights owner has added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Resolve rights and claims before broadcasting; YouTube’s terms require the provider to have the necessary rights for live content and comply with applicable rules and Community Guidelines. Monetization is not automatic
A continuous or looped lesson feed is not automatically eligible for monetization. YouTube applies its monetization policies to livestreams: repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible as “inauthentic content,” and reused-content review applies to the channel as a whole. YouTube’s July 15, 2025 notice renamed “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content” and said the reused-content policy did not change. Check the current policy and your channel’s status rather than assuming a particular outcome. See YouTube channel monetization policies.

Keep the home setup resilient
The local setup depends on the PC continuing to encode and the home connection continuing to send the feed. YouTube’s guidance recommends monitoring the stream and keeping a local archive; if you configure a backup encoder, test failover before relying on it. A desktop PC and router UPS is an optional way to cover some power interruptions, but size it for the equipment load and desired runtime. It will not fix an internet outage, and no particular model is established here as suitable for every setup.

India and ICSE context
The National Informatics Centre describes live and on-demand webcasting and lists OBS among encoder technologies; its service page also describes 24/7 webcast service for specified government channels. That is useful local context, not a special YouTube rule for an individual creator or an ICSE requirement.
