A playlist is a collection of videos; a 24/7 live stream is a separate broadcast that must be sent to YouTube through an encoder workflow. You can arrange bhajans to repeat in that workflow, but YouTube does not document a native playlist-to-live-stream conversion or guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 playback. What a YouTube playlist does—and does not do
A YouTube playlist groups videos for playback. It does not publish them as a live event. YouTube documents playlists separately from encoder-based live streaming, so viewers who open a playlist are watching its videos, not tuning in to a channel’s live broadcast. To make a bhajan program appear as a live stream, your setup must play the program and send its output to YouTube Live. The workflow needs to repeat or otherwise continue the bhajans; creating or scheduling a YouTube live event does not, by itself, make a playlist run continuously. YouTube’s published guidance does not promise a 24/7 runtime, so treat uninterrupted operation as something your chosen setup must manage rather than a platform guarantee.
How to set up a continuous bhajan live stream
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube says the channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Clear the rights for every recording. Confirm that your permissions cover the actual audio recordings and all relevant music rights. Devotional or religious subject matter does not make a recording copyright-free. YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility for necessary rights, including music licensing rights, on the provider: YouTube Terms of Service.
- Choose an encoder workflow. Use a software or hardware encoder that can play your program and send it to YouTube Live. YouTube lists encoder streaming as an option and recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events; that is a recommendation for that production context, not a requirement for every bhajan stream. The sources cited here do not establish a best encoder or a device model for continuous use.
- Configure the live event and stream connection. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and connect your encoder using the stream settings YouTube provides. YouTube supports scheduled streams and reusable stream settings, but those features arrange the broadcast; they do not convert a playlist into a live feed or ensure it keeps running overnight. Follow the current encoder setup steps in YouTube’s encoder instructions.
- Arrange repetition in the encoder workflow. Set up the chosen software or hardware to play the bhajan program repeatedly and send the resulting feed to YouTube. Verify the repeat behavior and test the complete workflow before relying on it; the official guidance cited here does not specify a universal looping procedure.
- Test rights detection and the live feed. Check the stream in YouTube Studio and confirm that audio and video are reaching the event as intended. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, and a detected match can lead to a warning, interruption or termination.
- Plan for the stream’s full duration. Keep the encoder workflow running and have a recovery plan for a lost connection or stopped playback. If YouTube drops the stream, the feed must be restored by your setup or operator; continuous playback is not guaranteed simply because the event was scheduled.
Clear music rights before you broadcast
YouTube states that live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted material. If it detects a match, it may show a warning or interrupt or terminate the stream. A license does not always prevent a disruption: YouTube says a rights holder may need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist for the stream to proceed without interruption. Check with the rights holder and, if applicable, ask whether allowlisting is required. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Rights clearance and monetization eligibility are different checks. YouTube says its reused-content review is separate from copyright enforcement and applies at channel level; having permission to use bhajans does not, by itself, establish that a channel qualifies for monetization. On July 15, 2025, YouTube said it clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content falls under its “inauthentic content” policy, with no change to the reused-content policy. Do not rely on YouTube to archive a full 24-hour broadcast
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a complete recording of a longer bhajan program, make and retain a local recording rather than assuming the YouTube archive will contain the whole stream. Common problems and what to check
- The playlist plays, but no live event appears. Playlist playback is not a live broadcast. Confirm that an encoder is connected to the YouTube Live event and sending a feed.
- The stream stops when your computer or connection goes offline. In a local encoder setup, playback and the internet connection must remain available. Check the computer’s power settings, network connection and encoder status; a cloud service such as StreamNeo avoids relying on a home computer or connection.
- YouTube warns about copyrighted content or interrupts the stream. Review rights for the specific recordings and contact the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting if you are licensed to stream them.
- The stream is live, but the archive is incomplete or missing. For streams longer than 12 hours, YouTube says capture is not assured. Keep a local recording if retaining the full program matters.
- Licensed bhajans do not result in monetization approval. Copyright permission and YouTube’s channel-level reused-content review are separate. Review the monetization policy and assess whether the channel meets its requirements.
