To send a prerecorded Hindi program from vMix to YouTube, create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio, copy that stream’s ingest URL and key into vMix’s Streaming settings, choose a supported quality profile, then start the encoder and verify the preview in YouTube Live Control Room. Hindi does not require a different RTMP endpoint or key procedure. This guide follows the vMix v29 manual and YouTube’s encoder guidance; labels and available options can vary by installed version.
What you need before configuring RTMP
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has no live-streaming restriction from the previous 90 days. YouTube’s current eligibility and setup guidance is at YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
- The prerecorded program, with permission to use the video, music, and any other included material.
- vMix configured to play the program and send its output. The exact playback, looping, and restart workflow depends on the vMix version and how you build the production.
- A stable upload connection with enough capacity for the stream bitrate plus headroom.
Hindi titles, descriptions, audio, and audience settings belong to the content and metadata workflow. They do not change the encoder’s URL and key fields.
Create or schedule the YouTube stream
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.
- Create a new stream, or open Manage to schedule one. Scheduling gives you a watch page that can be promoted in advance.
- Open the stream’s settings and copy its stream URL and stream key. Use the values shown for this stream rather than an endpoint copied from an unrelated tutorial. The URL is the destination for the encoder; the key identifies the stream.
YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Keep the key out of screenshots, chat, public documents, and recordings. If it is exposed, a channel owner or manager can reset it in the Live Control Room and replace it in vMix. See YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings.
Enter the YouTube ingest details in vMix
- In vMix, click the gear icon beside the Stream button to open streaming settings.
- If YouTube is listed as a provider and the available account connection works for your channel, select it and follow the on-screen connection flow.
- Otherwise, choose Custom RTMP Server. Paste YouTube’s stream URL into the URL field and its stream key into Stream Name or Key.
- Select a quality profile and streaming application, then review the output settings before starting. The vMix v29 guide says the default FFMPEG installation supports H.264 video and AAC audio; verify the options available in your installed vMix release and selected application. The vMix v29 User Guide: Streaming documents the settings.
The provider option may be simpler when available, while Custom RTMP makes the destination and key explicit. In either case, test that YouTube receives the feed and that its preview and stream-health indicators look right before publishing.

Choose resolution, bitrate, and protocol
YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension to RTMP, when it is available in the chosen vMix configuration. YouTube’s encoder guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS and H.264, H.265, or AV1 video, but the codec choices actually available depend on vMix, the selected streaming application, and your configuration. H.264 video with AAC audio is a documented vMix v29 FFMPEG baseline.
YouTube’s encoder help page lists these recommended H.264 bitrates. They are recommendations, not independently measured minimums or guarantees.

Use a bitrate suited to both the chosen resolution/frame rate and the connection’s sustained outbound capacity. YouTube recommends that upload capacity exceed the total stream bitrate and advises leaving 20% headroom. If other devices or services share the connection, their traffic reduces the capacity available to vMix.
- Rate control: YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframes: Use a two-second keyframe interval when the encoder exposes this setting; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds.
- Audio: YouTube lists AAC or MP3 audio. Confirm the selected vMix profile is sending audio and that the program’s track is routed to the stream output.
- Protocol: Prefer RTMPS when the URL and vMix configuration support it.
See YouTube Help: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for its current recommendations. The help page does not show a publication date, so check it again if you are configuring a later encoder release.

Start the encoder, preview, and go live
- Make sure the prerecorded program is playing in the vMix production and that its video and audio are routed to the stream output.
- Start streaming in vMix. Watch for a connection indication and check that YouTube Live Control Room receives the encoder feed.
- For a scheduled stream, wait for the YouTube preview to appear, check the image and sound, and then select Go live in Live Control Room. Starting the encoder alone does not publish a scheduled event.
- During the broadcast, monitor YouTube’s stream health and the audio and video output. YouTube recommends testing the setup and checking the preview before going live; see YouTube Help: Stream live with an encoder.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish that a broadcast lasting 12 hours or longer will be archived as one video. For continuous operation, plan and test how the event will be ended or restarted, and verify YouTube’s current limits rather than assuming a 24/7 stream becomes a single archive.
Prerecorded Hindi programming: rights and continuity
RTMP ingest only transports the vMix output; it does not verify that the channel has rights to the program. Confirm that you are authorized to stream the video, music, and any other included media. YouTube’s live-stream preparation guidance also says trailers should not infringe other content and points creators to its Community Guidelines. Successful encoder connection is not evidence that the content is cleared.

Whether the program loops, what plays between segments, and how it resumes after an interruption are production decisions. Test the exact playlist and recovery behavior in your installed vMix version before relying on it for unattended broadcasting. YouTube’s encoder help page lists Gyre as an example of a cloud service for 24/7 prerecorded streaming; it is an option separate from the vMix workflow, not a requirement or YouTube endorsement.
Monetization is not automatic. YouTube says live-stream monetization is available to channels in the YouTube Partner Program; eligibility depends on the channel. The reviewed setup guidance does not establish that a particular prerecorded program qualifies.

Troubleshooting common ingest problems
