To route an OBS feed through Livepush to YouTube, change OBS’s destination to Livepush, then configure Livepush to send the feed to the intended YouTube Live event. The path becomes OBS → Livepush → YouTube: OBS uses Livepush’s input server URL and key; Livepush uses the YouTube event’s stream key. Check both the Livepush input and the YouTube preview before starting the public broadcast. The documented workflow is general; the sources do not establish a special India-only setup or an India-specific server or key format.
Before you switch: prepare the YouTube event
In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the event you intend to use. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours; this is a possible activation delay, not a guaranteed wait and not a Livepush-specific delay. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
If you are already live through OBS, do not assume that changing destinations will preserve the existing broadcast or avoid an interruption. The setup instructions describe configuring the route, not migrating an in-progress stream. Plan a test or transition window and verify the target event before relying on the new path.
Switch OBS to Livepush, then connect Livepush to YouTube
- Get Livepush’s input details. In Livepush, open the live input or stream dashboard and copy the RTMP server URL and stream key shown for that input. Livepush’s guide describes this workflow at How to stream live from OBS to Livepush.
- Change OBS’s stream destination. In OBS, open Settings → Stream, select Custom, and paste the Livepush server URL and key into the corresponding fields. Save the settings, then start streaming from OBS. OBS should now send its program feed to Livepush, not directly to YouTube.
- Confirm the Livepush input. Check the Livepush dashboard for the incoming feed before configuring or enabling the destination. An OBS “streaming” indicator only confirms OBS is sending to its configured destination; by itself, it does not prove YouTube is receiving the correct event.
- Add YouTube as a destination in Livepush. In the Livepush stream dashboard, choose Add Destination and select YouTube. Livepush describes both a channel connection flow and manual key-based configuration; the exact available choices can vary, so check your current dashboard. The destination options are listed in Livepush’s destination guide.
- For manual setup, enter the YouTube event key in Livepush. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or select the event and copy its RTMP stream key. Enter that key in Livepush’s YouTube configuration, save the destination, and switch it on. Do not put this YouTube key into OBS for this routing arrangement: OBS needs Livepush’s input URL and key. Follow Livepush’s manual YouTube connection guide.
- Verify the correct YouTube preview before going live. Return to the intended event in Live Control Room and confirm that it receives the feed. Inspect the preview and stream-health information; for a scheduled encoder stream, YouTube’s instructions say to wait for the preview and click Go live.
Choose channel connection or manual stream-key setup
| Approach | What you do | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Connect a YouTube channel | Use the channel-connection option shown in Livepush’s destination settings. | Livepush lists this as a connection mode. Confirm the current authorization flow and available options in your account dashboard. |
| Manually configure an event | Copy the YouTube event’s RTMP key and enter it in the Livepush destination. | If the channel is not linked, Livepush says manual setup must be repeated for each YouTube event. Its manual guide also says this method does not show YouTube live comments in Livepush’s multichat overlay. |
YouTube describes a stream key as the “password and address” for a stream. Keep it private; if it is compromised, reset it in YouTube. YouTube says only a channel owner or manager can reset a key. See Manage live stream settings.

Check stream quality and end the broadcast safely
Use the encoder settings and bitrate guidance that match your output and available connection. YouTube recommends testing with representative audio and movement, monitoring stream health, and using RTMPS where the encoder supports it. Its encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions and live streaming tips provide the platform guidance. Livepush’s setup instructions describe an RTMP input; do not assume an RTMPS option is available in a particular Livepush account without checking its dashboard.
When you finish, stop the encoder and end the event in YouTube Live Control Room as appropriate. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; longer streams are not covered by that stated archive behavior. Follow the current end-stream directions in YouTube’s encoder guide.

Troubleshoot the most common setup problems
- OBS reports that it is streaming, but Livepush shows no feed: Recheck that OBS is set to Custom and that its server URL and key are the Livepush input details, not YouTube’s event details. Save the settings and restart the OBS stream.
- Livepush receives video, but YouTube has no preview: Check that the YouTube destination is enabled, the key belongs to the intended event, and the event is open in Live Control Room. With manual setup, re-enter the key for the correct event if needed.
- The preview appears under the wrong event: Compare the event selected in Live Control Room with the key configured in Livepush. A working feed does not guarantee that it is routed to the event you meant to use.
- The scheduled event does not become public: YouTube’s encoder workflow calls for waiting for the preview and clicking Go live. An incoming preview is not necessarily the same as starting the public broadcast.
- You cannot start your first YouTube stream: YouTube says initial live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours. Check the channel’s Live Control Room status rather than treating this as a Livepush-specific fault.
- YouTube comments do not appear in Livepush’s multichat overlay: Livepush documents this limitation for its manual YouTube key setup. Check whether a channel-connection option is available in your dashboard if that overlay matters.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep prerecorded video looping on a YouTube channel around the clock, that is a different workflow from routing a live OBS production through Livepush. StreamNeo plays videos you upload; it does not go live from a camera. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The stream runs from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Any quality up to 4K 60fps streams as uploaded at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
