India uses one standard reference time—Indian Standard Time (IST, UTC+05:30)—so the practical approach is to curate and manually order one or more playlists, then schedule videos or posts separately and label every announced time as IST.
What “different Indian time zones” means for a YouTube playlist
For a countrywide schedule, use IST rather than inventing separate east- and west-India time zones. A Government of India press release dated 27 January 2025 describes IST as UTC+05:30 and says it is maintained by CSIR-NPL. That release concerns draft Legal Metrology (Indian Standard Time) Rules, 2025; it does not establish that those draft rules became law. Read the government announcement.
YouTube documents manual playlist arrangement and reordering, video publication scheduling, and scheduled Community posts as separate controls. The cited Help pages do not describe a feature that changes playlist order automatically according to a viewer’s location or local clock. This is a statement about the documented workflows, not a claim about every third-party tool or undocumented feature.
Choose a playlist approach

Set up and share a devotional playlist
- Create the playlist. In YouTube Studio, create a playlist for the devotional category or listening occasion. Give it a clear title and description, choose its visibility, and add the videos you want included. The available controls are described in YouTube’s playlist help.
- Put the videos in the intended sequence. Open the playlist and drag the videos into the order you want. This is a manual ordering step; it does not set a time-based rotation.
- Share the relevant playlist. Copy its URL. If you have separate morning and evening playlists, share the appropriate link in the relevant announcement rather than expecting YouTube to switch viewers between them automatically.
- State the time zone explicitly. Write an announced time as, for example, “7:00 PM IST (UTC+05:30).” This gives viewers a single clear reference instead of asking them to infer which time zone you mean.
Schedule a video release or playlist announcement
Schedule a new video
To publish a new devotional video at a chosen time, use YouTube Studio’s video scheduling control and set the date, time, and time zone. A scheduled video remains private until publication. Scheduling the upload does not itself add it to a playlist or change that playlist’s order: after publication, add it to the relevant playlist and adjust the sequence manually if needed. Schedule a Community post sharing a playlist
To promote an existing playlist at a set time, create a Community post, paste in the playlist URL, and choose the post’s date, time, and time zone. The post shares or promotes the playlist; it is not a playlist-order control. YouTube documents this workflow in Create a post on a computer.

Check the displayed date before announcing a release
YouTube says the “Published on” date on a watch page is based on Pacific Standard Time (PST). For a video uploaded or scheduled in a time zone ahead of PST, the date shown in Studio can differ from the date displayed on the watch page. Your India-local release time may therefore be correct even when the displayed calendar date differs. If the exact date matters to an announcement, check the public watch page before promoting it. YouTube explains the date-display caveat in its scheduling help.
Keep the release schedule sustainable
YouTube recommends planning a consistent, sustainable publishing schedule and using upload scheduling tools. Treat that as guidance for managing your publishing cadence, not evidence that a particular devotional release time performs better or that playlist order will rotate automatically.
