Short answer: Livepush and OBS do different jobs. Livepush documents a scheduled playlist channel that can run prerecorded videos continuously without you present. OBS is streaming software that encodes and sends a feed to YouTube; the cited OBS and YouTube instructions do not establish an equivalent unattended cloud playlist scheduler. Choose based on whether you need automated prerecorded playback, live production, or both.

Livepush vs OBS for a 24/7 YouTube channel

For a prerecorded channel that should keep playing while you are away, Livepush documents a schedule-channel workflow: queue videos and run them continuously. OBS is an encoder, useful for producing a live feed from a computer, but the cited documentation describes connecting an encoder to YouTube—not an unattended cloud playlist service.

Need Livepush OBS with YouTube
Run a queued prerecorded playlist unattended Livepush says its 24/7 schedule channel queues videos for continuous operation without the operator present. See Livepush’s 24/7 plan guide. The cited YouTube encoder instructions explain how to send an encoder feed, not an equivalent unattended playlist scheduler. See YouTube’s encoder instructions.
Produce a live feed from a computer Livepush documents OBS as an encoder that can send a feed to Livepush for distribution. OBS encodes the feed; YouTube accepts it through the server URL and stream key.
Send one live feed to multiple destinations Livepush says one RTMP/SRT feed can be distributed to multiple platforms; exact allowances depend on plan. See Livepush’s multistreaming page. The cited YouTube instructions cover streaming to YouTube. They do not establish OBS itself as a hosted multi-platform distribution service.
Watch on your own site Livepush says its hosting plans include a branded player and Akamai CDN delivery; its guidance identifies Studio as the entry plan for 24/7 hosted playback. See Livepush plan details. The cited YouTube encoder material does not describe hosted-site playback.

When Livepush fits a prerecorded 24/7 channel

Livepush’s help center says 24/7 streaming works through its schedule channel. Its plan guide identifies Creators as the least expensive plan supporting that feature. The guide lists the plan at $39/month, or $32.50/month with annual billing; these are vendor-published prices checked October 3, 2026, and may change. The listed features include video looping, up to 4K output, five simultaneous streams, 40 platforms, five destinations per platform, and 20 GB of video storage. Treat these as plan descriptions, not independent performance measurements.

Do not confuse unlimited streaming hours with an automated playlist channel. Livepush lists its Forever Free plan at 20 streaming hours per month. Pro is listed at $15/month or $13/month with annual billing and removes that monthly-hours cap, with up to three simultaneous streams; Livepush says 24/7 scheduling is added by Creators. Events does not include the schedule channel, while Studio is identified as the entry plan for 24/7 hosted playback. Check the current plan details before subscribing, since limits and prices can change.

Can OBS run a 24/7 YouTube stream?

OBS can send an encoder feed to YouTube, but that is not the same as a documented cloud playlist scheduler. A computer running the encoder and source must remain part of the production workflow. The supplied YouTube and OBS material does not establish OBS alone as an unattended hosted service for queued prerecorded videos.

YouTube describes three streaming routes: webcam, mobile device, or encoder software/hardware. It says an encoder can support screen or gameplay capture, external audio/video hardware, and more advanced multi-camera or microphone production. In YouTube Live, obtain the server URL and stream key, then enter them in the encoder. Do not share the stream key: it grants access to send a feed to that live destination. Follow YouTube’s current live setup controls for the account and stream you intend to run; exact interface labels can change. See YouTube Help.

Using OBS with Livepush is a different workflow

Livepush documents a workflow where OBS sends its feed to Livepush using a Livepush ingest URL and stream key, and destinations are configured in Livepush. That is useful when OBS produces the live program and Livepush distributes it. It is distinct from Livepush’s separate schedule-channel feature for prerecorded video.

Plan for YouTube archives and channel rules

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not guarantee that one continuous 24/7 broadcast will become a single automatically archived video. If you need a replay, plan the archive workflow separately and check YouTube’s current live controls for the intended broadcast.

A 24/7 schedule does not make uploaded material exempt from YouTube rules. Before scheduling, confirm you have the rights to the video and audio, and review YouTube’s current copyright, live-streaming, and monetization policies. A stream being technically continuous is separate from whether the content is permitted or eligible for monetization; do not assume reused or licensed material is automatically acceptable.

Which option should you choose?

  • Choose Livepush’s schedule channel if the central need is a queued prerecorded playlist running continuously without you present, and its current plan limits and costs fit.
  • Choose OBS if you need to encode a live production—such as gameplay, screen capture, or external audio/video—to YouTube and can operate the computer-based workflow.
  • Use both in a distribution workflow if OBS produces the live feed and you want Livepush to distribute that feed to configured destinations.
  • Consider StreamNeo first for a cloud-run YouTube loop: it keeps uploaded videos live from the cloud, at any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with the first day free.
