Create or schedule a live stream in YouTube Studio, copy its server URL and stream key into your encoder, configure the playlist to repeat, and check the preview before making it public. The Sanskrit content does not require a special streaming protocol; the important questions are playlist playback, rights, and how you supervise the encoder.
What you need before you start
- Finished video files, or a compatible video presentation with audio, for the shloka playlist.
- A cloud VM with the storage and network capacity needed for your files and outgoing stream. The exact VM size depends on the media and encoder you choose; no universal specification is established here.
- An encoder configured to send the playlist to YouTube using the server URL and stream key shown in YouTube Studio.
- Rights to use every relevant element: the text where applicable, musical composition, performance, recording, images, and video. These can have different rights holders.
Before streaming, review YouTube’s encoder setup instructions and use the settings they recommend for your encoder and connection. Google Cloud’s Live Stream API has separate guidance for RTMP and SRT inputs to its managed transcoding service; those recommendations are not YouTube ingest settings.
Set up a repeating stream on a cloud VM
1. Prepare and check the playlist
Put the finished shloka videos in the order you want them to play. Confirm that each file has usable audio and video, and review the full sequence before uploading it to the VM. Decide whether the playlist should repeat immediately or whether you want an intentional pause or transition between items; configure that behavior in your chosen encoder or playback workflow.
2. Create or schedule the YouTube live event
In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a live stream. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the event into the encoder’s destination settings. YouTube’s encoder workflow is to enter those details in the encoder and then start the encoder. Keep the key private: grant access only to the cloud host and trusted operators.

3. Configure the cloud encoder for continuous playback
Run the playlist encoder on the VM rather than on a home computer. Set the playlist to repeat, and arrange for the encoder process to be supervised so an unexpected exit is logged and can be restarted. Add monitoring or alerts so an operator knows if the feed stops. These are practical operational recommendations, not a tested configuration or a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
4. Verify the preview before going public
Start the encoder and check the preview in YouTube’s Live Control Room. Confirm that picture and sound are present and that the correct event is receiving the feed before making it public. YouTube’s API documentation distinguishes the liveBroadcast event—a YouTube video viewers can watch—from the liveStream feed carrying audio and video. Its documented 24/7 example shows a broadcast continuing while a second broadcast is temporarily associated with the stream; this is API behavior, not a substitute for checking your own event.

5. Plan for the archive separately
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If you need a durable recording or a particular replay, plan and verify a separate recording or archive workflow instead of assuming a continuous stream will create the archive you want.
Rights, monetization, and repeat content
Clear every part of the recording
A shloka’s text, a musical composition, a singer’s or musician’s performance, a sound recording, and accompanying visuals may not share the same rights status. Check that your permissions cover the intended livestream and any replay or other use. YouTube warns that a live stream containing third-party content may be interrupted if the channel is not on the rights owner’s allowlist, even when the streamer has a license. Confirm the license scope and whether allowlisting is required before going live; see YouTube’s guidance on live streams and copyrighted content.

Do not assume continuous playback qualifies for monetization
YouTube’s monetization policy says monetized content should be original and authentic, rather than mass-produced, generic, or repetitive. A playlist that repeatedly plays a short item with little added viewer value could raise a policy concern. Continuous playback alone does not establish eligibility or guarantee monetization. Review the current YouTube channel monetization policies.
Choose between a self-managed VM and hosted cloud playout
A self-managed VM gives you control over the encoder and server environment, but you are responsible for setup, process supervision, logs, alerts, and recovery. A hosted cloud playout service can reduce server administration; compare its playlist editing, YouTube connection or stream-key flow, storage and stream limits, reliability terms, and recording retrieval before choosing.
